I knew it was coming (see also: Terry Pratchett, same illness), but it still makes me sad. Dude was both a historian and a comedian, very smart, and he will be missed.

The DS version does have additional challenge, since the port was done by the same folks who did the DS version of Final Fantasy III, but it also has additional content that did not make it into the "Complete" version on PSP. Which is irritating, but Square Enix in general is irritating.

Lost Odyssey is a good choice.

Also recommend The Last Story (same creators) if you still have a Wii.

I have played every version of the game except the 3-D remake for DS, and I give the edge to the PSP version, since it includes After Years and Interlude if you enjoy the original game.

The Economist is the majority of my news. I get notifications from the CNN app, but I take those with more than a grain of salt, especially lately. And I look at my local news app for weather updates.

Considering that A Link To the Past is one of my favorites, the fact that A Link Between Worlds revisits that game and its version of Hyrule is all kinds of neat.

Confession: I never played Ocarina of Time. Nintendo and I parted ways during the N64 period (... because all the RPGs I wanted to play were on Playstation).

A Link Between Worlds is the only Zelda game that I have been motivated to purchase and play since ... Minish Cap, IIRC.

I'd almost call that one a demake, considering that quite a number of better versions were available on other platforms.

Bamco is always really spastic about what it does and does not release in a series.

Looks like I misremembered the background to Medium Rary. That one is my bad.

And I read about the Lorraine Williams side of that story, but I was unaware of the Blume brothers side. Miracle that TSR survived as long as it did, honestly.

My favorite D&D name gag remains Rary. His player -- another one from the Gygax group -- wanted to make a medium-sized human so that he would be ... Medium Rary.

I doubt he envisioned Rary becoming the James Bond-style supervillain that he eventually became in Greyhawk canon, but there you go.

I have this, and I need to play it at length, but the consensus seems to be that it is at least better than Zestiria.

But I also read that it is neither a Symphonia nor a Vesperia, if that is what you seek.
