Yeah I'm sure all the people he burned alive were happy to know he took a backseat to the war and was essentially on paid administrative leave while he babysat his nephew lol.

Yeah I'm sure literally the whole point of his arc was him trying to redeem himself for the horrible things he's done

Like that's the point, is that he did bad, and is now doing good

No shit the people who died are still dead lmao

I like the design in general, and the line work and colors and general style, but getting a flag tattoo with an eagle is hella tacky imo.

The eagle's eye is a little unclear as well as to what part of the eye is what. It almost looks like it's wearing glasses or something lol

Overall, 4/10. Style is good, but idea itself is meh imo.

But obviously you get whatever you want tattooed on your own body. Don't let me stop you from getting what you want

But why say it? The dog knows it's a dog, and Legolas knows he's an elf.

They wanted specifically to know what legolas is seeing that they aren't.

But more importantly, it's movie dialogue, and was probably important in the movies to make sure that the viewer knows that elves have better eyesight than man or dwarf. Exposition and such. Is this ever brought up in the movies otherwise? If they didn't specify elf eyes here then how would the viewer know that elves have better eyesight?

Still, though. Is anyone really asking for this? The game plays perfectly fine right now.

Did Jonathon run out of ideas after The Witness?

I don't know, the improvements that they're making to the game based on this write-up and the commentary they're adding seems like it'll be totally worthwhile. I'm def buying it.

Real talk: I never played Braid but I've read single line sentences of the story that kinda gives something away (no context for me to attach it to the game though).

Is it actually good? Or was it "good for its time"?

It's quite good imo. Kind of a similar mindset to Portal, where you have to recontextualize the world with the abilities the player has in order to solve the puzzles. The story is a little heavy handed, but the gameplay is there along with excellent graphics and music so it's really no biggie. I've 100%'d it a few times. One of my favorites

There's a trailer on this page, and the write-up is fairly long, but totally worth reading. The amount of work and detail going into the commentary sounds honestly heavenly, especially for someone like me who really enjoys learning about the intricacies of game design. The new art assets look really really nice too.

Overall I'm fuckin stoked. Will definitely be buying this on release.

We should tho imo

I have never seen this movie, just some clips on YouTube. Here are the details I remember from the clips I saw but can no longer find:

-There is a magician(?) with shoes that are outrageously long and curly, uncurling and curling with every step.
-He has some sort of vulture or something as a pet or assistant or something.
-He has something that he can use to hypnotize people.
-He is going to see a clan of barbarians(?) And they capture him and take him to their leader.
-When initially brought into their great hall or whatever, there's a huge dramatic zoomout with some killer music
-the barbarian leader has a throne made of big-titted women

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I remember watching videos of this like a year ago, but now I can't find them.

The battle dojo in Toad Town or whatever has a simulator you can use to practice the puzzles btw.

Yeah I know, but like I said, the ability to solve the puzzles is not the issue here. No matter how good I am, there will always be the possibility of me not being able to solve one, and that is always gonna result in me being forced to give up, or spend a fortune trying to win. Skill level and challenge of the puzzle are not my enemies here, the timer is.

You can still get it half right, but getting it 100% practically means you won the battle considering you get an attack power boost enough to kill most enemies in one shot. And not getting it 100% right means you'll probably take a lot of damage if you haven't taken out most of the enemies by the time your turn is gone.
I see. Still sounds ok then

But winning isn't the issue, you get plenty of healing items, and other items you can buy and stuff to help you win the battle even if you fuck up the puzzles. That's not the point. The point is that the game puts you in a position where the only options are to admit that you can't solve a puzzle and get super penalized for it, or you spend god knows how much coinage to prove that you can. It's the worst-feeling loss-scenario I have ever experienced in a game.
