Definitely. The first mission after the prologue is one of my favorite campaign missions of all time. Too bad they kept trying to promote that mission as an example of what the rest of the campaign would be like, because its the only boots on the ground mission I can think of

But the rest of the campaign is fantastic, my only issue is that the villains are comedically evil like in Ghosts

MWR is a wonderful remake too, dont listen to the people calling it disappointing

What's really fucking stupid about the Black Ops 3 campaign, other than the entire Black Ops 3 campaign, is that none of it ever actually happened

Actually, it kinda sorta did all happen, except the team that you're hunting down was the team that actually did everything and Taylor was in your shoes, and you're relieving his memories because of the failed operation in the second level

But yeah, Black Ops 3 was some filibustering tootechy4me stuff. Too bad they gave up with the next game instead of trying again

Is BO3 related to any of what happened in BO1 or 2? I loved the first two Black Ops campaigns, great stories and characters, but have never played the third one.

The trilogy is WAW, BO1, BO2

BO3 is virtually standalone and it's worth a play but I'd easily recommend Infinite Warfare over it unless you're obligated to play through all of them like I do

Cold War is basically Black Ops 1.5 in terms of the continuity, it takes places a few years before BO2

One more reason for physical media to survive. An all-digital console future is friggin' bleak. I think I saw that Anthem's standard edition was still $60 in the PS4 store yesterday, lmao.

It's a lot less bleak than you think. Titanfall 2 has been $6 for longer than it's been $60 on digital.

It's also a convenient way to get some rarer older games. Look at how Silent Hill HD Collection being available on the eshop lowered its value overall lol

I wish people would give the Microsoft Store another chance. They're clearly shaping it up to make Series S owners not regret it. The redesign is really nice, it brings full features to 360 games in terms of showing the price right away and not using the 360 store for purchases (something they claimed could never be done) and routinely cross-platform games end up cheaper on there in my experiences (even Namco Arcade games are $1 on sale compared to $2 on PlayStation)

My PS3 controller with shit battery makes me appreciate my 360 controller. The sad thing is all the games I have left to play on that gen is on PS3.

My blue DS3 from 2011 can get about 10 minutes of battery on a full charge now lol

I feel like I can tell a family looking to buy a console to "Get the Xbox, it plays most of your older Xbox games, works with older Xbox One controllers and accessories, and Microsoft games routinely are cheaper than PlayStation games on their store" and it would be an infinitely easier sell than "Well the PS5 is the same price, but its kinda weaker. It has a lot of exclusives, but they're all starting at $70. Gotta get a $70 controller so little Timmy and Jimmy can play Sackboy Adventure together too"

Thing is without the touchpad the Dualshock 4 might get 20+ hours per charge like the Dualshock 3 did.

After the Dualshock 2 disassembling the Dualshocks became a pain due to the L2 and R2 trigger springs being difficult to get back into the exact right spot when reassembling them.

I've done it before but I made extra sure not to mess with the springs

considering that iFixit has an entire guide based on you fucking up the springs I'd imagine I'm one of the lucky ones

My one buddy on PSN has been asking me the same thing for about two years now. If you're in the U.S. I'd say to keep an eye on sites like Cheapassgamer and Slickdeals.

I'd also keep an eye on the Berry Blue, midnight blue and steel black ones at Target as they're all marked NCF (no carry forward) in their system, which means they may go clearance sooner than later.

I found a new 360 controller recently so I'm keeping my eye out. My local game store gets some in but they're gone in a snap

I have a BC PS3 and I really don't want to crack open the DS3 that came with it because the replacement battery is about half the price of what a new one might cost lol

The point is that when these things start going bad, your options for fixing them are limited to "buy a new one" or "crack it open" something I'd imagine won't be as viable to the average Joe when they're now $70 a pop

It's a non issue if you're like me and buy spare controllers on clearance. I have 10+ spare Dualshock 3's still. I'll probably never use all of them. I also have around 11 or 12 Dualshock 4's too with the cheapest ones being the crystal ones I bought from Wal-Mart last Black Friday for $11 apiece. That's because one store by me didn't mark the price back to the $39 "sale" price from the prior month's $11 clearance price.

The difference is that I can replace it at any time with another rechargeable battery, or even conventional batteries without having to take the controller apart or replace it entirely.

My problem with $70 games is that they're cross-gen releases that basically have little justification for the price, especially in the Xbox's case where Smart Delivery is a feature

I thought 2K and Activision were just pushing $70 games when nobody else was because their scummy, but I guess Sony thinks their semi-exclusives are worth that much too, I just hope it's not the standard; game prices plummet rapidly lately so I guess I'd end up waiting even more for things I plan on getting

$399 PS5 Digital is a far, far better deal than the $299 Xbox Series S from a hardware perspective.

$70 accessories and $70 games is a massive yikes that will spike up the cost fairly quickly.

At least Xbox is confirmed to have backwards compatibility with just about all Xbox One accessories, which is something we haven't seen since the PS2 days
