I still haven't even played XV and am gonna play that soon so I'm fine with waiting. That game seemed to be better if you waited.

I got the royal, super deluxe edition of FFXV with everything in it for $30 and I don't regret it at that price.

This $70 game shit seems to be the norm for Sony I'm afraid though, I can't imagine forking over $570 plus tax just to play cross-platform games

If there's one thing that's for certain it's that Pokemon games need voice acting. There's was nothing more underwhelming than to see Sword/Shield go for some massive big grand setup then have the familiar text box pop up as soon as the announcer started talking to remind you of what game you were in.

-Expecting people will buy it because "well we're Playstation, our last console (PS2/PS4) was highly successful so people will buy this one no matter what"

-Lame lineup of launch games. The Series X is guilty of this too but the current beloved PS5 exclusives aren't necessarily system sellers

My issue is with the fridge s is that it's all digital, which means no used games so you're spending $60+ on a game. You're not even really buying the game, you're buying a license to play the game.

How is this any different from Steam or any of the other game launchers on PC

If there aren't 4K 60fps games on Xbox One X, which has a more powerful GPU and more VRAM, there's no reason to believe the Series S can do 1440p at 120fps unless the game is extremely basic visually.

There are quite a few 4K 60 FPS games on the One X though; recently released games of course are gonna push the boundaries but even lame games like Battlefield 5 can look great on the One X

I can't understand wanting a company to repeat history when it's clear they've learned from their mistakes and are being completely open about their strategy

I'm basing my opinion on the fact that Microsoft has a shitty track record with consoles when it comes to launch or reveal. I don't trust Microsoft to not fuck up the new console in some way.

By that logic, I'm in the right to never buy another Playstation console because of the PS3 reveal resulting in a fountain of memes

Fun fact, the Xbox Series S will not have the improvements of the Xbox One X

So your backwards compatible games will look worse on 'next gen' than last gen

Most of the "enhancements" to games in the One X are just resolution bumps and frame rate bumps

Since there's no 4K on the Series S, it makes sense that there's not gonna be much of a resolution bump but I'm sure frame rate bumps can be done

Expanding on Wonka's family was by no means an improvement to the story.

It attempted to try and humanize an otherwise overly eccentric candymaker in exchange for making Charlie and Joe a lot less dickish compared to the original movie. Id say it worked out well

I don't know how to word this properly, but the thing that concerns me the most is I believe MS far more is interested in Series S taking off. They want to push to an all digital gaming standard. They're trying to thread the needle more gracefully than they did with the original Xbox One plans but they want to move away from physical media.

There are some advantages to digital but in the long run it WILL harm consumers. There will be DRM again at some point, also without retail stores and physical media good luck ever having games go on sale or go on sale at the price points they do.

They've made Series S far weaker in specs so that they can still appeal to the traditional gamer with Series X (higher specs, physical media option etc) but to me it just seems like good cover for their slow baby steps to what they wanted to do back in 2013 with Xbox One. An all digital future where eventually they can control how you access your games.

If they wanted a DRM future, they wouldnt let you simply play backwards compatible games by inserting the original disc inside them.

Xbox has been increasingly consumer friendly over the course of gen 8 and yall think its to reverse all of that in one big move? Wut

As for the topic, nobody who owns a One X currently is going to upgrade to a Series S. This is intentionally done to pull as many PS4 owners away as possible at a lower cost.

Microsoft Store isnt Steam but Id be lying if they didnt have great deals from time to time, going all digital on Xbox Series S is more believable than you might think

Also, all digital 360 and One games you already own are automatically gonna be there and ready to download

As for the storage, they already confirmed regular External HDDs will work on all cross gen and older games; the memory cards will be primarily for Series S/X games

The Burton one had some improvements to the story (expanding on Wonka and Charlies families, showing what happened to the kids who were eliminated, tying Grandpa Joes knowledge of the factory into his knowledge of Wonka) but the original one is of course instant nostalgia

I think people who hate the 2005 one needs to watch it again; apparently its more accurate to the books

Haven't read the whole topic but in the very first movie Han explains that lightspeed jumps are always precalculated and therefore you're not supposed to hit anything or anyone in the process. But if you overwrite the safety computer (like in the novelization), you still have to deal with:

• Infinite range
• Shield penetration in a world where primary defenses are shield generators
• Undodgable, meaning that you can be blindsided by anyone at any time

The question isnt why dont more people try to fly their ships into other ships?

The big question is why isnt every military building hyperspace projectiles explicitly to be rammed into other ships?

Fuck all digital, sure you can get a refund if you play a game for less than 2 hours and that's if Microsoft doesn't pull some bullshit with the all digital Xbox fridge. I don't trust Microsoft, i may own a 360 and a Xbone but that doesn't mean i trust them.

Look at what happened with Xbone at launch, had to always be online, couldn't play used games along with other bullshit. That's why i didn't buy it at launch and i was content with my 360 yet.

Microsoft is gonna fuck up the Series X somehow.

I am biased, Microsoft has been awful for gaming outside the og Xbox. They basically screwed the shit outta consumers for 2 gens and their fans are brainwashed and stuck in the Microsoft "ecosystem".

Sony and Nintendo aren't much better, but fuck they can at least put out a decent exclusive to justify owning their console.

Most Playstation exclusives are getting ported to other games even if the Sony fanboys are kicking and screaming about it, swearing loyalty to a console over exclusives is kinda dumb at this point. As far back as the PS1/N64 there were very good reasons to not have a single console the entire gen, even if a particular game was on both

I probably would've switched to Xbox sooner as my primary console if I knew some of the PS4's most glorious exclusives included the likes of Days Gone, LBP3, and Fat Princess Adventures
