While I'm used to father Nier more than brother Nier due to Replicant never getting a release outside of Japan, we only got Gestalt, I can understand why they went with brother over the father. We could possibly end up getting a father Nier scenario as DLC and if it happens I won't be surprised. I think the title with all the numbers is a fancy way of saying Nier 1.5 and I'm assuming there are going to be new plot details that connect the events of Nier into Nier Automata more and possibly even another new Nier game. The devs hinted at this by saying something along the lines of this not just being a remake. I'm sure the game will turn out pretty good, I just hope Yoko doesn't pull out some new grim dark shit for the new story content in this game. I'm fine with bittersweet, just as long as we don't get some original Drakengard ending shit I'll be fine.

If they do add new story content, I hope they don't end up spoiling the big twist in Automata just for the sake of connecting to it.
(That being that the humans are actually extinct.)

I never understood why Galaxy 1+2 were so well-loved. Based on every second of footage I've seen, the whole "tiny spherical planet" gimmick seems like it'd be a control and perspective nightmare.

You'd think so, but it controls rather well. The perspective may screw with you a bit but you get used to it easily.

Considering I've played Sonic Adventure 2, spherical planets with gravity could control a hell of a lot worse.

I consider Galaxy to be a kind of transition point between the Mario 64/Sunshine style platformer to a more traditional linear Mario platformer, since most of the levels are point A to B with little exploration.

omg they really are making it already, and new consoles as well how cool. And I haven't even played dmc 5 yet... well there's still time.

Anyway I only just played dmc 4 special edition and kind of had my fill of virgil. He was fun to play as in dmc 3 but weirdly not as fun in 4, the enemies were just not designed around him like they were the nero dude.

Plus I wish they had story modes for them instead of just going through the same campaign but with a different character. Like even just a couple of story scenes here and there. Or "what character was doing during the game"
