So apparently my boss is going to try to get the governor to approve the hiring of another person. She just asked if I wanted to temporarily take the supervisor position until the governor (hopefully) approves her request for another worker. If/when that happens then I can apply for a permanent position, which should be good since Ill have experience. She said that theyre going to get people from around the office to help though, so it doesnt sound too bad.

Im gonna start training on the 16th after Presidents Day.

So meh. Sad that lazy job is coming to an end, but at the very least its more money. Not sure how much more though lol

So... potentially congratulations? Hahaha.

Hopefully the governor isn't a dick like James devlin.

Agreed. I've heard Duncan has said some awful things but never seen them for myself so I dont consider any of that.

The worst thing about him is he has a lot of hard line opinions on stuff he obviously has no clue about. Which isn't so bad its just odd. I've had some good convos with him and always seen him as likeable and well meaning.

Don't take on that much, trust me. They are just going to toss more on your shoulders until your back breaks, blame you for it, and move on. I've been there so many times and fell for it a lot. If they are putting the job of 3 people on you, then you need to get a raise of triple of what you are making. Corporations especially try to save money on paying people by convincing them they are great and can handle more without having to pay out the money to hire someone else to do it. The stress and pressure isn't worth it.

I second this unfortunately. When the radio station sold i suddenly went from on-air / news and the odd feature to all of that plus being the only copy writer and producer which was at least 3 full time jobs on top of my already 40+ hour a week job. And they would get pissed if I worked overtime and pissed when I missed any deadlines by so much as a day.

Which was some bullshit. Lol. I would actually sneak in on weekends just to get caught up which was dumb of me but also since I was salary its not like I was missing out on more pay.... just free time.

I'm definitely an amateur and started last year, but probably my best investment was GEVO pharmaceuticals, I bought 500 shares at $0.80 and their stock is up to $10 now so i've had a pretty massive gain from that. I just see it as low risk, high reward, like Dogecoin was a literal fraction of a cent so I was like fuck it, i'll drop $50 on it and if I lose it, I drink $50 worth of booze in 2 days so i'm not gonna miss it. In a day that $50 is nearly $600 so it's paid off.

Thats what I figure. I've never bought any stocks or crypto before. But I can afford to lose 100. Waiting till tomorrow will probly fuck me but I'm lazy.

I'd love to get into dividend stocks. i just dont have nearly enough money to make it worthwhile currently.

I have a buddy who put some inheritance money into dividends when he was 19 and he's been putting all his profit back in for almost 15 years and he's hoping to retire at 40.

Meanwhile I know another guy who bought in slightly later, held on too long, and is down over 13k and still hoping it rebounds back to where it was pre legalization of weed.

When she is "normal" and not melting down she is fine. Had a few decent conversations in the past, but she hates me now since I am a popcorn lover. I think she may be lurking in my discord just to get leaks. That said, I've always been open about my love of popcorn here. I have tossed a few tips to her too, but she spinned it as victim blaming. Like the advice could be as basic as "Lock your doors to prevent burglaries" and she will scream "Victim blaming."

I've also seen her bring up an awful event from her past totally out of nowhere when it has zero relevance to the topic at hand and then attack people for disregarding what she's been through.

I think people gave up trying to help her once they realized she just craves attention and isn't really looking to improve.

He is often very receptive. I dont know how much he typically takes away or if it sticks but he has often asked for advice or thoughts even when they aren't necessarily pleasant ones to hear.

Duncan is infinitely more likeable than her tbh. She'll post these intentionally provocative (antagonistic is actually a better word) generalized statements then act like anyone who disagrees with it is a huge bully and just being mean to her for no reason.

Also she will literally block anyone who provides any kind of criticism no matter how polite, constructive, or well meaning said criticism is.

I'd argue she's legitimately one of the worst posters on ce.

And thats overlooking her incredible ability to make literally everything about her, her victim complex, and her forays into full-blown misandry.
