A lot of these retailers would be pissed to miss out on the first batch of a product like this, part of the deal retailers have with companies like Sony is they will offer them products to sell.

If Sony takes the first 3 months of consoles sold that is a lot of money they miss out on. Not to mention people buying other stuff to go with the console in the store. I also have a feeling Sony doesn't want to deal with shipping them all out one by one. If they really enjoyed that they would just have their own online store like Amazon and sell their own products there exclusively.

I believe someone else said its relatively simple. Being glued to the board would be a pretty terrible decision by Nintendo on the engineering-side.

They wouldn't be the first to glue a battery onto the board, Apple phones have the battery glued in to make replacing it very very hard.

Sounds like eventually, if these batteries are a custom size or they stop making the size, the console will be plug-in only.

li-ion batteries are designed to deactivate if they run too low on charge, because there are safety mechanisms in the battery that rely on having a charge. once parts of the battery deactivate, they never reactivate. so, when you let the charge get too low, they will permanently lose chunks of charge depending how low you let it get.

can't be sure that's what's going on though. can also be a cable problem, etc. (though I think the switch has a charge stand or something? is the charge stand plugged in and the cable ok? my family has a switch but I don't so I don't know a ton about it specifically.)

You can charge a Switch either like a normal thing like a modern phone or with the stand, both of them work. If it only charged with the stand that would be a real pain in the ass to bring with you in case you need to charge it. The stands main function is to let you use the Switch with a TV and the charging is just a nice bonus.

Yeah if you are rough with the charging port you can damage it, my little brothers used to break phones often because they would be rough unplugging or plugging them in. Same thing can happen to cords that charge it they can get frayed or damaged with use depending.

Anyways I had to get my PS3 repaired back in like 2010, I sent it to Sony and it ended up being far cheaper than buying a used one or a new one even thought it was past the warranty.

The only way this sounds like it could actually damage the switch is if it got water damage while in the case which is unlikely. The other possibility is excessive heat which could damage it even if it was turned off. Excessive dust could be another factor but again unless the case was dusty as heck this sounds very tough.

The only way to know for sure is contact Nintendo and send it in for repairs or something like that. They would be able to identify the problem, and the repair might be covered under warranty depending.

Just because a movie has controversial content it doesn't make it bad. Looking at audience reviews for a movie with such controversial content is usually rough, because tons will rate it 1 out of 10 to protest the movie without watching it and judging it fairly.

Some of the greatest movies ever made were controversial on release.

Netflix has been "dead" more than once before.

I watched the Netflix documentary a few nights ago, they actually made a lot of bold decisions that led to more success. Some of those decisions lost them money in the short term but they paid off down the line BIG time.

Board games are seeing a sort of Renaissance right now, though most are still pretty niche. Games with miniatures are also experiencing a bit of an uptick in popularity so maybe Hasbro is hedging their bets on that recent popularity mixed with some 'stalgia to bring in some dough

I mean when the game first came out back in the 90s if memory serves it did pretty well, they even made expansion packs for it and stuff like that.

In old JRPG games it was like this, in Final Fantasy one they will attack nothing if the target dies before they hit it. Modern, JRPG's have turned away from this but it was far more common in the 80s and early 90s.

This is the type of thing where 95% of the people that know who this guy is, aren't surprised by this. As stated above he may be forced to pay them off, but it won't do much to his career.

Even if UFC bans him I doubt that impacts him much at this point.

Maybe it's a sequel to the board game, if not that it might just be a reproduction of the original board game.

Well it is a unique thing I mean right now it's super exclusive to say you have been in space, I think some might do it just to tell others they did. Anyways I stand by the fact that 15-20k is reasonable for some, again it's based on how much that person makes if they are bringing in $250k a year 15-20k is not a big deal if they are making $30k a year it's a lot more.

Obviously over time it will get more feasible for the average american but if someone saved up for it for a decade or so even with a moderate income of say $30k they could get it done. The only person that would save for it that long though would really really want to go up there it would be a big deal to them.

My point was just because something is technically cheaper doesn't make it the best. Shit if people used a bicycle to get around town they would save money on gas, and upkeep on a car but you see people choose to drive mostly. Even when traveling less than a few miles people mostly don't use a bicycle to get there unless their goal is to get exercise.

Also $15-20k is irrelevant to some and a fortune to others, that is just the nature of the world. I sure as fuck couldn't afford a Rolex watch but for some people they could buy that thing on a whim.

I never said $15k was nothing and people would do it for fun at that price. Shit even in the year 2120 it will likely still be cheaper to use regular air travel just do to the nature of the travel. I mean right now it's cheaper to walk somewhere then get on a plane, but that doesn't mean people use walking to get to places far away. It can also be cheaper to drive somewhere then fly assuming you drive there straight on and don't add to the expense with hotel stays etc..

At that time most would have scoffed at anyone ever owning a computer for personal use or a day when a phone could have more power than that computer by a factor of 1000's.

Even if it is a truly unique pizza if it is any good at all expect tons of copying of said pizza. There was a time when every pizza was unique and fresh and then it was copied a ton and now it's just "another pizza".

Well already those willing to throw a few million dollars at space travel can get up there right now. I think another 40-50 years will make it more accessible but still we are probably talking $15-20k per person at the very least.

I think the biggest reason we haven't seen a large push is because for the most part, there is not much of a point to it beyond the novelty and it being cool to be out in space. Once we have more reasons to go into space that will open it up more to being a more normal thing. Like if on Mars there was cool sites to see etc.. and getting there wasn't too complicated or time consuming. The reason why people travel for fun is to see shit, you go to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, you go to NYC to see the State of Liberty. Right now going up in space beyond checking out earth from a distance isn't much.

The fact of the matter is the democratic party despite what the most right wing try to paint it as is a fairly middle of the line party. Bernie was too radical to ever win the nomination period, while the Democrats might be liberal in comparison to the Repub's looking at them in the grand scheme of things they are nowhere near as left as Bernie was.

So we have a party that continues to move further and further to the right in the Republican party, and one that leans slightly to the left for the most part in the Democratic party. I think people are getting too caught up in the most hardcore followers of candidates though, Bernie bros were nowhere near a large enough sector of people to win if they were they would have had him have a slam dunk nomination in the primaries.

I also think the biggest reason Trump won was because of Cambridge Analytica, they used extremely nefarious means to find out all they could about voters in key battleground states then bombarded them with bullshit to slowly convert them over time. A very interesting documentary that goes into great detail about the 2016 election and the rise of Cambridge Analytica is The Great Hack from 2019 I believe it is on Netflix it's a great documentary.

I'm sure that if everyone voted twice it would be a nightmare for the voting system, having to go through and remove everyone's second vote sounds rough. Even if they have it automated somewhat, 99.99999% of all votes are counted on the first one it's not like we have a massive problem with votes not being counted. I doubt the voting system is setup to automatically find voters that vote twice since very few people have ever voted twice.

Once again Trump just loves to overstate the problems with the voting system by changing the factor by 10 or 100 of how big of a problem it is. He takes a problem that affects an extremely small amount of people and acts like it happens to half of the people.

They have used the Japanese numbers in all regions since FF VII and that came out over 20 years ago. It's pretty easy to go by those numbers especially since they are the right numbering system and going by what's on the SNES cart labels skips FF games.

Beanie Babies, are a horrible example the problem with a good chunk of collectibles is they are flash in the pan shit. Beanie Babies were huge for like 7-8 years which is typical of a flash in the pan and temporary collectible, once the desire for them went out they crashed hard.

Meanwhile other collectibles have stood the test of time, old useful MTG cards have for the most part only gone up. Very old baseball cards of note have also for the most part only gone up. Very old and sought after comic books have for the most part only gone up. The problem is people get bought into hype on a hot new collectible or in baseball cards instance heavily investing in new baseball cards that were being flooded into the market and then they get burned once people stop caring.
