I'm pleasantly surprised at the number of people who are just lukewarm on the game here. I remember there used to be a bunch of wanking over it being the best Metroidvania ever and I thought it was merely decent. It was too big, too drab, too much trying to be something it didn't need to be. The corpse running wreaked of "everyone wants to be Dark Souls, Dark Souls is cool, right?"

If you want to be super pedantic and literal then yeah but the examples you gave are so mundane they don't even register with me as "memories".

I feel the opposite, being totally amazed by memories. Stuff that is pretty mundane but maybe attached to an interesting event - like remembering vaguely what the halls of a hotel look like. Why would I need to know that? The halls aren't exciting. I don't know why, I just do.

I think it's good that he's being honest about it, but the takeaway should not be "wow I always knew he had integrity" and instead "hmm maybe I've been drinking the kool aid a bit on this man's products"

Nor should the takeaway be "this is bad for the stocks" but instead "are they going to get serious on building a product that actually belongs in this industry"

I don't use it but I hear there are individuals who scam. I don't know how it works but it seems like they don't have to promise anything in particular, they just prey on people's assumptions that they're going to post something more salacious.

I think it's in general a scam figuratively speaking because you're really paying for a parasocial relationship more than the porn. I heard some of them are like 20s, 30s of dollars per month or more... that's multiple streaming services worth that could give you way more content.

Yeah though I was still pretty liberal as a teen. I'd say stuff like "that's gay" a lot like a typical teen of the time but I don't remember having any real resentment towards gay people. Well I did have a distaste for stereotypical flamboyant "gay culture". I don't know if that was a proxy for homophobia or just ignorance, as it took me a while to realize that many gay people don't engage with that kind of stuff. And it's still not my cup of tea but whatever, I can see more of the reasoning behind the expressiveness of it now.

Having work experience isn't as crucial if you're in school, I'd say you could put it if there's no other experience to list, but doesn't really need more than a line or two.

Also re gaps, IME they almost never care as long as it isn't current. I had a big gap before landing my current job and it would get brought up every time, now when I interview for jobs, the gap is still on my resume but it's rare for them to talk about it. Hell it's rare that they even talk about my prior job.

You should leave off any job like that as soon as you've had a professional one in your career field, possibly even if it was just an internship. It might not necessarily hurt but it's just a waste of space because 99% of the time they are not going to be impressed by your quantity of jobs or years of unspecific experience.

The only exception I'd say is if your current job is one of those Joe jobs but even then I'd say a gap might still come across better.

It's good but not in any way that good. It's maybe a top 10 3D platformer at best

I think there was one fairly recently but I'm struggling to remember it. Oh! I saw a guy from my old work at the grocery a few weeks ago, but that isn't what I'm thinking of. And I didn't talk to him or anything, he wasn't someone I knew well.

Man, in college that used to happen so much, but I don't know if that counts since everyone had the same hangouts. But I remember back when I'd go to a bar or brewery and one of my friend groups would always joke how I'd see someone I knew every time we went there. I don't know why it happened cause I really have never been a popular guy.

Is the next one the second fire one? I think I remember liking that one. Though I don't remember really hating any of them. The last dungeon is a really cool concept too, albeit a little undercooked, not unlike other 3D Zelda game dungeons.

Island and castle have some weird stuff. I love almost all of it but would be okay with them changing stuff to be more thematic. Like in the castle when you go through the shit like the mines or caves or that lava zone it's kinda hard to remember you're actually in a castle. Variety is cool too though so I don't know. The best parts of the island were the creepy science labs and the remote areas like the container fight, wish it had more of that and not the military shit.

I don't think RE4 is a game that really needs a ground up remake though, so as far as I'm concerned I'd almost prefer to see them take risks.
