I don't remember anything during the seizure, you're out cold. And that's the scary thing. You just lose control all of a sudden. Doesn't matter if you are in a safe place or on top of a ladder... you just lose consciousness and any control of your body, and it can happen with little to no warning. You can get an 'aura', like a feeling it might happen, but honestly I feel a semblance of an aura almost every day so it's hard to know if it's imminent or not. It's weird though after. You know when you wake up from a nap and you have no idea how long you were out or what time it is? That's the closest thing to it.

The damage is both from falling, and the exhaustion from all of your muscles shaking and flailing simultaneously. If you don't hit anything on the way down, you just feel really tired both physically and mentally after but you mostly feel better again after resting, maybe a little queasy

Ah, all right, this is going to sound possibly really insulting, but, one of my old dogs had seizures and when I was a teen, my mom told me that she was fine, and to just make sure she's ok when she wakes up and give her a lot of love.
I'm happy mom wasn't just saying things and she was ok during it, she was never hurt during it, but I was still worried for her.

That explains it. The concept of a seizure is 'funny' until you actually have one or see someone have one. In reality it's horrifically traumatic, and you can do a lot of damage to yourself when you lose total control. Twice I bashed my head on something going down and was concussed for weeks after. Once I rug-burnned half my face off seizing on the carpet. I also get to deal with the side effects of my medication, including balding when my family has zero history of it, manic depression, and constant dry mouth.

If you don't mind going into more detail, I'm curious what it's actually like when you have a seizure, at least in your head, I have no idea if you're conscious or not throughout the entire thing, it's just not something people talk about a lot in my circles.
Also, is most of the damage that's caused just from the fact that you lose control of your body and fall on things, or is there some sort of brain trauma associated with it?

And, like, you gotta admire that response.

You said "very respectable senior game developer", which, he doesn't have the same perspective as, say, Sid Meier or John Romero or even Todd Howard who have to deal with things from the industry as a whole.

When your best selling product is Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour, yeah, things are different from what I would describe as "respectable senior game developer", which are the high end producers of products.

Not frequency, delay.
So if I clap at a distance, you will see my hands touch, and then hear the clap later.
The question is how long before your brain starts to notice some fuckery.

I was just guessing with the 50ms. reading about it, it can apparently vary from around 34ms to up to about 300ms delay, which is a lot more than the max of 125ms that we can adjust to.

Yeah, with my bad bluetooth headphones it really only is relevant when I'm watching a video where the lip syncing isn't great.

wireless has, I think, a slightly noticeable delay. something like 50ms. it doesn't matter if you're listening to music (since there's nothing to be out of sync with), but it's annoying if you try watching a video. not 100% sure it's not just in my head though.

The human brain can handle delays in sound pretty easily for videos, if you have inputs it gets a bit weird, check out this video if you're curious:

That's actually a pretty good analogy.
Most people don't watch streams for the gameplay unless it's incredibly high gameplay, most of the time it's for personalities.

Into the Spider-Verse was also a pretty fun movie, so, I hope it works out.

yes there are women that have deeper voices and men that have higher pitched voices. Doesnt mean a game HAS to give you the option to be exactly that while playing

Gamer glasses maybe? As much of a meme they are, they can reduce eyestrain a bit by just reducing blue light from your monitor.

Language isn't defined by what's written in a dictionary, it's describing how people use it, if enough people use the word, it's an official word.

EDIT: Same way I make fun of my british friends by calling them Bri'ish, becuase of how it's pronounced there.

English language already has "you" pronoun cover both singular and plural.

Eh, that one I disagree with, we can use "y'all" for a plural, but talking about how "you like dancing" for a group of people doesn't work in comparison to "y'all like dancing" works totally fine for a group.

"They" works just fine and I've been using it for years now for plural and singular.

Yeah. I havent tried the time limit one. My friend said he might because his times have been pretty fast lately. And the lava has gotten me a couple of times. If you use the last aspect of the sword, though, you can make the lava a non-issue for a little.

I've been getting 20-30 minutes for a run, it's just the fact that I don't like how it makes me feel seeing the timer go down, I feel like I don't have time to check on everything before I leave, despite totally 100% been fine doing it.

I enjoy it, all of the extra boss stuff is well done, same with the miniboss stuff.
I don't like playing with the time limit, because it clicks something into my brain that makes me not enjoy it, but I have fun with everything else.

I will always murder myself with that +400% trap damage though, because I think I don't get hit by traps, it's free heat. And then I die from lava.

I ain't paying disney my money directly for it.
