Nominate Banjo for re-ranking. Our current low mid rating for Banjo is in stark contrast to his past contest performances, where he looked to be high fodder at best. Sure Banjo & Kazooie are in smash, but I don't think a solo Banjo will get as much of a boost compared to Banjo & Kazooie as a duo since they are the specific rep in the game.

I don't think Kate is significantly better-liked than Chloe is, and Chloe got blown out by -Lightning- in 2018. So I have to go Low Fodder for Kate.

Mid Fodder for Rhydon. It's a big rocky triceratops and a recognizable gen 1 Pokemon, plus it has a stand out anime moment in "Aim for the horn!". Also it was apparently the first Pokemon ever made.

Low Fodder for Anna. While she gets plenty of focus in the Frozen movies, her sister is far better-known and immediately associated with the series. Plus Anna's design does not stand out like Elsa's does.

Mid Fodder for Pinky and the Brain. They're pretty much an iconic duo, and their common back-and-forth banter from the show is super memeable. Plus they're in the same nostalgia zone as the Animaniacs.

Speaking of, Mid Fodder for Yakko. All of the best-known skits and one-liners from the show feature him, like Countries of the World and "Goodnight everybody!"

Low Fodder for Surprised Olimar aka Alph. I doubt many people care for Pikmin 3 considering it was a WiiU game, but Alph looks similar enough to Olimar to get some votes by association.

It's possible that Dot is weaker than the Warner Brothers (heh) since she doesn't get the focus or memorable skits that Yakko and Wakko get. That said I'll say Mid for Wakko. He gets the most focus of the trio and is the fan favorite thanks to his silly personality.

Mid Fodder for Iggy pretty much using the same logic as for Morton, Lemmy, etc.

Low Fodder for Arsene. Despite having more relevance than Izanagi or Orpheus and appearing in Joker's Smash moveset, he's still a starting Persona who gets ditched incredibly early in P5. So I can't give him too much credit here.

Agree with Low Fodder for Malboro and Alice. No one really likes Malboro and its an annoyance when it appears. And Alice would have to look more like the Disney version to draw much from the Alice in Wonderland series, since the Madness games are pretty niche.

Mid Fodder for Dot Warner. Animaniacs was very popular in the mid 90s - which is the perfect time period to get nostalgia support from the Gfaqs demographic. I'm not sure that they care too much about the reboot, but it has put the series back in the spotlight. All of the Warners are pretty recognizable, and Dot has her moments like the Finger Prince gag

I think Mid Fodder is a pretty good bet for most of the Koopalings. Wendy obviously stands out from the rest and has a lot of personality in her appearances, so she might be close to high.

Low Fodder for Toothless. I'm willing to give a dragon the benefit of the doubt, but HTTYD is not at all something that would be popular on Gfaqs as an animated film series starting in 2010.

Low Fodder for Ichigo. Bleach is probably pretty high up in watch rate here compared to most animes, but its debut on Adult Swim might have come a bit too late to get a huge foothold with the Gfaqs demographic. Plus Bleach has not had much in the way of relevant games unlike Naruto. Ichigo himself isn't too well-liked himself due to being too much of a cookie cutter Shonen Protagonist.

Lemmy I will give Mid Fodder. I think he's one of the most recognizable Koopa Kids due to his colorful hair and always incorporating a large ball or other circle-theming into his boss fights. Plus he's been playable in Smash and Mario Kart for a while along with the other Kids.

Larry on the other hand is probably the most generic Koopa Kid, so I give him Low Fodder. He's so unmemorable that he was given a magic wand as his trademark weapon - which EVERY Koopa Kid wielded in SMB3.

RIP Trebek. The man hosted the most popular game show in the world for the entire lifetime of the Gfaqs demographic, and won't be forgotten anytime soon.

Gfaqs loves the Galaxy games and Luma also appears along with Rosalina in Smash Bros 4 and Ultimate, plus its cute. I think that should give enough to be mid.

Mid Fodder for Garet. Not sure how much people care about him, but he is in the party for almost the entirety of GS 1 and appears in the following 2 games as well.

I think the main reason Bison hasn't been back in a contest is the fact that he has to compete with Ryu, Chun-Li and literally every Street Fighter character for nominations within the series fanbase on the site. They would rather nominate chumps like Dan. Even characters like Ken haven't gotten back in since 2010.

This lead into my nomination for Re-Ranking - Zangief

One thing that I don't think I brought up for his first ranking is that he is a major fan favorite within the SF fanbase due to his over the top grappling moves and personality - much more so than Guile. Plus he has notable appearances in Wreck-It Ralph and the SF movie (alongside M Bison in both no less), and some memes like REAL SOVIET DAMAGE.

I said before that I don't believe Guile is anywhere near as popular today as he was in the original SF2 days, but I don't think I really provided great reasoning for it. The thing is that Guile's playstyle, while groundbreaking in 1992, stayed completely stagnant until his DLC appearance in Street Fighter V. He is a slow-paced, campy character to play against and was a top tier in many different games. Guile eroded his goodwill within the SF community due to how frustrating it was to play against Sonic Boom and crouch spam in every game. Even in games he wasn't in Charlie and Remy were there to make sure players did not miss the thrilling matchup.

Plus the military motif went out of style in video games around 1996 or so, and certainly isn't cared for much on Gfaqs today.

Low Fodder for all today.

AC Valhalla is a bit too new to have caught on for Gfaqs, although it didn't look terrible in the most anticipated Nov games poll. Eivor Varinsdottir (putting her last name here so I remember to add it later) looks like she could be a cool character, but doesn't stand out enough to make mid combined with being new.

Gravity Falls is a praised cartoon series and probably has a decent watchrate, but it is simply far too new to hit Gfaqs' demographic.

Same argument for Claude that we made for Rena before - SO 2 probably has enough of a fanbase on Gfaqs to put a main character out of law range.

I will stick with the original ranking of Low Midcarder for M. Bison. He's one of the best-liked villains in gaming not only for his appearance and affably evil personality, but due to incredibly enduring memes from the cartoon and Raul Julia's scenery-chewing portrayal of him in the SF movie.

Plus Street Fighter still seems to have a sizeable fanbase on Gfaqs - one that is large enough to make the maligned Street Fighter V look respectable in GotD2.

I'm mostly doing this just for the heck of it, but third Re-Ranking M. Bison. I mostly agreed with his first placement since he is not only a well-liked villain but has a multitude of enduring memes from the SF cartoon and movie, and aging gamers like those on Gfaqs seem to genuinely like Raul Julia's portrayal of him from the movie. He looked bad in his only contest appearance but that was in 2005, when the main Street Fighter series was essentially dead - and people were sick of the lazy fighting game ports and rehashes that Capcom had been releasing the prior year.

LAW Fodder for both Mike Jones and Ben.

Startropics has only seen Virtual Console re-releases since 1994 and while both games are NES Classics, I think very few people will even recognize Mike as the series protagonist. He might get some "Who? Mike Jones!" meme votes but that won't be enough to escape law.

Judging by a 2013 Gfaqs poll, Full Throttle seems to be comparable to Grim Fandango and Sam & Max in popularity. However the protagonists of those games are well-liked and stand out in terms of design. Ben is. . . just a big dude.

I will (barely) say Mid Fodder for Cut Man. He's one of the best-known robot masters along with Guts and appeared in every episode of the Mega Man cartoon with him. Plus he has a lot of cameos and boss fights in MM games beyond his debut in 1.

Fodder Line for Ivysaur. Multiple playable appearances in Smash give a good boost to what would be the weakest middle stage of a Gen 1 Pokemon, but I don't think it is enough to put above the Fodder Line and match its final stage.

I might address the longest-lived character on the Re-ranking list soon, but for now I will third reranking Ivysaur. It would probably be the least popular form of any Gen 1 starter if not for its Smash relevance. That might be enough to put it over Charmeleon, but I don't think it is a popular enough Pokemon in its own right to beat the fodder line.

Low Fodder for Dr. Wright. I'm sure there's a small number of people who played the SNES or N64 SimCity games, but it is mostly his distinctive design and consistent appearances as an Assist Trophy in Smash games that will keep him above law range.

Mid Fodder for Nidorino. It was easily obtainable in Gen 1 and evolution is very popular. Plus it looks like a triceratops - dinosaurs are cool right?

Low Fodder for Matthew. He looks a lot like Isaac which might put him close, but I can't give him the benefit of the doubt due to his games' bad reception.

Darkdeath Evilman might be an amusing enough name to get him a few votes, but unfortunately his appearance doesn't quite match his name. His game was in one poll back in 2011 and got destroyed, so I have to say LAW Fodder here.

A bra, hehe. Mid Fodder for Abra, but only because its evolutions are popular. Otherwise it might get anti-votes for its infamous difficulty to catch in Gen 1.

I will say Low Fodder (barely) for Flynn. It's been awhile since SMT IV's release but I think there should still be a decent amount of support for the game and thus the MC on the site.
