Honestly that moreso talks about how lame E3 was in general this year.

Aside from Metroid Dread their other announcements were pretty decent. I'd compare it to Microsoft's, honestly. A bunch of games shown off that appeal to all sorts of people, and a couple from long-running franchises.

Yeah, I think it was moreso closer to the end of BotW's Expansion Pass. Aonuma said the sequel came to be when they were developing more DLC but the ideas kept coming for it to be considered an entirely new game.

Metroid Dread looks like overall an improvement over Samus Returns, which I still heavily enjoyed. People's issue with the counter-attack seems to have been fixed. You can do the counter move while running and don't even have to wait for an enemy to attack in order for it to work.

All the old Mario Parties have 6 maps and I'd want close to double that for a game that's a "best of" from the older ones.

Yeah, that was a bit disappointing for the announcement. At least the boards should theoretically not be as small as Super Mario Party's though.

Even if you think FFVIIR is a great game the stuff around it is a mess. You've got that direct mobile remake of the entire previous continuity and you've got a battle royale game. All within the first year. Imagine how messy the universe is gonna look like in a decade.

Yeah, they're definitely milking the FFVII universe dry, if they didn't already do it with the Compilation years ago, lol.

Ever Crisis is the funniest one to me because it's literally the FFVII remake a lot of people wanted and yet it's mobile only and episodic.

I fucking hated FF7R combat system.
Square needs to stop putting stagger bars or learn how to use them.

What the fuck is the point of breaking the boss's stager bar if they get into a cutscene 3-5 times per battle and it resets the stagger bar each time? Just ignore that shit and dps the boss.

And normal mobs die way before their stagger bar breaks.

The boss phase thing was annoying, definitely. I think the other thing about enemies dying too quickly is they were afraid of making every single enemy HP sponges like in FFXIII.

I wouldn't put all my eggs into my basket if I were you. The actual guaranteed showings are Skyward Sword HD since it's out the day after and Age of Calamity DLC, since the first expansion is coming out next month.

That said it's still a gigantic waste of time if they literally only had three games to show. They could've consolidated their DLC announcements into Twitter updates or other presentations like Nintendo's.
