Because the first game in the series is actually a remake of a portion of the original game. I wouldn't be surprised if the future parts have different subtitles instead of "Remake," like other R words. Or they may turn it into "Final Fantasy VII R: *insert subtitle*"

Now, this does not confirm that Zack is in the current timeline with Cloud and everyone else. For starters, Zack has the Buster Sword with him when he goes to the church. Also, Sector 7 appears to be still intact when Zack tries to find Aerith but it should be destroyed at this point assuming Aerith has gone to pursue Sephiroth at the end of Part 1. This was the details I was wanting after hearing it initially. This is like the second time they deliberately put inconsistencies when showing Zack and whoever else that should've died...alive. Which seems to tell me that it's supposed to be an alternate timeline. The idea I had in mind that we'd be following Zack in a parallel timeline sounds more and more realistic, honestly.

Though...Sephiroth fucking things up and the Whispers being defeated causing temporal inconsistencies also seems like a plausible explanation too...

I remember having some alright fun with it. There wasn't anything inherently wrong with the gameplay and it felt less hand-holdy than Dream Team, but I guess I was just disappointed by the story being so generic for a Mario RPG that it failed to keep my interest past beating the game. Didn't bother with the extra stuff.

I'll have to see what the ending actually is, but I was assuming "Zack is alive" was an alternate reality. Is that not actually the case and the past retroactively got changed?

If that's the case, so much for the developers saying they weren't going to majorly change the story. That's kind of a big change right there.

I will admit, simply saying "What the Avengers did was supposed to happen" felt like a cop-out explanation initially, but it's probably something they didn't want to bother explaining in extremely verbose terms just to get the plot going.

I think they're going to be in a mess with the importing of saves anyways. I think I was like lvl 40 before I left Midgar, at least.

I'm unfortunately not able to play it so I'm watching a stream of the Yuffie story. It looks like they did a damn good job with Yuffie's combat. She looks fast, frantic, and can toss enemies around. I imagine she'll get nerfed in Part 2 though, seems they balanced the gameplay for solo party member stuff.

Fuck. There's not a lot I can think to get rid of either. I just don't have a spare 100 GB to be able to play it. Also I dunno if my RAM can actually technically run it. It needs 8 and I have 8, but my actual usable RAM is somewhere around 7.

Sucks since I wanted to play it, maybe start some CE topics like someone does with Smash here.

Didn't the little cartoon PSA show that the TNA does what it does to prevent a multiverse occurrence from happening? And this Phase heavily seems to be leaning towards multiverse shenanigans? There's a large chance that the show is gonna end with Loki destroying the TNA, allowing true free will to happen and thus a multiverse to occur.

I'm one of the few who thought it started off strong and went okay. Still enjoyed it, but the first couple episodes really intrigued me. I'm just a big fan of the storytelling trope of "things seem off." Especially when it gives off a creepy vibe.

There's a mod to fix all the shit wrong with the 3DS port. It's called Project Restoration. Some features:

-Zora fast swimming no longer needs magic, just like the original
-Transformation masks mapped to dpad
-No giant boss eyeballs
-Ice arrow functionality restored

Some other stuff too, but those are some of the big ones

It's such a shame, since I appreciate some of the other changes and additions (the improved Bomber's Notebook is one of them, and the addition of fishing was nice) but they went too far in some other changes. The bosses didn't need to be so drastically changed.

It was technically not feasible to put in the original game thanks to the GameCube loading times. The Great Sea masked the loading times. The Wii U had faster loading, so makes sense.

They did DLC for RE7 that was basically a bunch of bonus modes and short stories, so I'd be surprised if they didn't do anything similar for Village.
