The story and characters are not very gripping yet (though not significantly worse than previous games). I'm at the moment where ~~Gloria and the gang are caught by Prince Castor~~ (early-ish game spoilers). But the UI/UX feels significantly worse and confusing, and I really don't like how the skills are laid out. It feels like the buffs are too small to matter and it really annoyed that we learn ONE spell per level for Black Mage. So that's 9 slots for all levels of the elemental spell when we could've had them in 3 slots... And the bosses with their random and OP counter-everything is also annoying. Really limits and railroads the strategy we can take. I'm honestly considering putting it on hold indefinitely and just start Great Ace Attorney. But what do you think? She seems to be the one to watch for. S2's is kinda good but I think the middle and beginning are also quite strong. S3 is a weird case due to how the game is structured. S4 is just whatever the whole way through (and I actually really like the beginning parts a lot). Also I think it's a pretty good decision for them to release this bundle after AA6, since it was the end of the second trilogy. As a plate cleanser, so to speak. Looking forward to where they'll be taking AA7 though. Maybe with good reception for the games that don't star Phoenix, they'll be more confident having Apollo/Athena/a new character as the lead. I love Phoenix but he's sort of done his share of character development and I feel he's more suitable for a mentor role nowadays. --- Into the woods, but mind the past... It's been fun and interesting and it inspired like half a dozen B8ers to do their own takes. As for mine, since I 'played' Yu-Gi-Oh through Forbidden Memories, Duelist of the Roses, and Capsule Monster Colosseum (which had wacky but simple rules compared to the TCG, I love the fusion system in FM though), and I read the manga, I suppose it's something like... (not necessarily in order) Mystical Elf Mystical Sand Nekogal #2 Change of Heart Dark Elf Flame Swordsman Crimson Sunbird Curse of Dragon Flame Cerebrus Monster Reborn --- Into the woods, but mind the past...
