The second half of her tweet isn't entirely true either. Again, I know what she's getting at, but: "the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews" Saying that this happened first kind of shows she doesn't understand the full scope of what exactly went down in Nazi Germany herself. There is a LOT to dig through relating to the subject, but it is not entirely accurate to say that it was first the civilians. Whether or not she should have been fired, part of her tweet was incredibly fucking stupid: "Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors. even by children" Unless I am missing something or she is using some kind of metaphor or literary device, within the context of the whole tweet, this one tiny section is simply incorrect. Part of the sentence is true, yes, but this bolded part is 100% false. Perhaps she was trying to say something else, but she should have put more effort into it. --- Raul |
