when I applied in IL, there was 600 people for one position. Thats more relatable. Its not like they were trying to hire hundreds of librarian assistants lol. And they try to run academies every month

how easy do you think the job is to get? I applied with 5k people, 300 people made it through, 100 made it to the academy. 25 graduated 5 were recycled from previous academy. And we lost 3-5 in field training. Its actually a pretty strict and hard job to get and thats with staffing issues currently. Unless you mean stricter like cops who grt fired and go other departments

If you're an airforce general, and you notice that the only planes returning after a battle have holes in the hull, you wouldn't put more reinforcement on the hull. You would put it on the wings and tail, because those must be where the planes that don't return are getting hit.

Regardless of who responded there will be violence. But somebody has to response. You realize what you are saying is people are being violent towards police, and if they dont respond. Then thats just worse for the victim

I didn't say we don't need police, just that more police isn't actually a solution and that most people who push for police funding think fear of authority is the only thing keeping the animals from slaughtering each other. They want to come hard on criminals, but rarely look into how to prevent criminals. Youre saying a lot of stuff thats just opinion and not actual statistics. A lot of misguided beliefs as well. Ive posted actual data several times through out my time here.

regardless, like I said. This isnt something thats going to end. Domestic violence has only gone up, race, age, income doesnt matter. And regardless of what programs and spending its always going to happen. And nobody but police will ever respond to it first

The real problem is, they only take crime like domestic violence seriously at the scene. Once it hits the court, nothing happens to them. Same for most violent criminals. The defund movement managed to lax a lot of crimes which is why youre seeing the uprise of looting and property crimes, etc..

You need people to respond it. Seeing as domestic violence calls are the most dangerous calls police go on. And majority of police shootings are domestic related and occur within one minute of arrival. I dont think sending social workers to respond to a violent call is anywhere close to a good idea.
