tho tbh as much as I love NEO, I wasn't entirely satisfied with how some of the plot points carried over from AND were handled. All I'll say is that I agree with this comment "AND felt like setup to a TWEWY 2, but we got TWEWY 3 instead"

Interesting you say that. I've heard a lotta good about NEO but I also heard the new characters kinda lose the spotlight to veteran characters after a while so their development isn't all there. It sounds like the game tries to balance the line between new game for newbies and sequel for old heads and maybe doesn't quite do enough for both

Yeah the game played fine enough on the touch screen of the Switch. I heard docked mode sucked so I stuck with that instead. There were times where I felt the pin wasn't working when I wanted it to and dodging was kinda tough but overall I had fun

I'm so glad the sequel doesn't involve a FUCKING touch screen.

Getting 6 pins and going crazy on the noise is fun in TWEWY, don't get me wrong. Dodging enemy attacks was tougher than it needed to be though. I sucked at it. When it came to the final boss, I just stood in one area and spammed while soaking damage. If I took too much damage I used a recovery pin. Dodging all those dragon heads was just impossible

So it was kinda obvious she was evil because she came out of nowhere and was super odd looking. Seeing Mr. H piss her off was fun. I thought Neku and Beat were in a parallel world but nope it was all one giant Noise setting up an illusion. Kinda cool.

New Day ends with Neku being shot AGAIN! By Josh or the reaper girl. Couldn't quite tell. She resurrected Sho with Taboo Noise sigils. This weirdo reaper gets so much love. Can't believe he was resurrected twice lol. So they're setting up Noise getting into the RG and erasing the real world with Shinjuku getting erased. Who is mystery girl and why does she have a Mr. Mew doll though?!

Glad I waited till NEO was out to play this.

Spoilers for the ending and the background events
Joshua was the Composer. A week before the start of the game he started a side game with the Conductor (the dude with the shades and headphones you fight at the end), with Shibuya as the prize. Joshua viewed it negatively and believed it won't change and wanted to erase it, the Conductor wanted to prevent its erasure at any cost. Joshua killed Neku to use as his proxy, and Sho was there to try to kill Joshua believing him to be vulnerable in the Real Ground.
When Neku beat the Conductor, it was Joshua's win and he had the right to destroy Shibuya, but Joshua decided to make a final bet with Neku for it's fate. Whoever shot the other first would become the Composer. When Neku refuses to shoot and instead decides to "trust his partner", it changes Joshua's opinion. If even Neku could change, maybe Shibuya had potential after all. So he revives Neku, Shiki, Beat, and Rhyme and returns them to the Real Ground. Just to troll Neku one last time, he chooses the familiar crossing as the spot of Neku's revival. The main party is all alive in the Real Ground at the end.
At least in the original version. Final Mix has some additional content called A New Day (not the same thing as Another Day) that I guess leads into NEO.

Yeah, someone else said they're in the RG as well. Guess I didn't notice the people seeing them. That's sweet. All this Joshua stuff is nuts. I've been reading the Secret Reports and they are saying some wild shit. Alternate realities, ANGELS, other higher level beings, the path from Reaper to Angel, etc. Mr. H was the fallen angel all along and he helped Sho make the taboo noise. Even he didn't wanna see Shibuya erased. Joshua kinda sucks.

I did like that a Secret Report mentions that Joshua was busy in alternate reality playing tin pin all day while Week 3 was going on and Mr. H had to go get him. Kinda funny.


I started New Day just now. Everyone's weird. This reaper girl is weird and kinda doesn't match the artstyle of the game. I dont like her

wow you've played quite quickly. Tbh my favorite characters were Josh and Sho, tho I still loved the game overall. Heavily recommend Neo once you're done too!

Lol yeah I've had the game for about a week and it's held my attention. I'm definitely gonna play Neo. I saw that Sho is a main character in it. That's nuts.

I've been playing on the Remix OST.

It looks like this is for real for real endgame. Beat's fading. Sho is back from the dead and speaking nonsense about being as powerful as the Composer. Everyone in Shibuya is brainwashed. Even the two hot reapers who were kinda scummy but became friendly. It's kinda creepy how the NPCs don't move anymore.

I don't know if this is a common opinion, but Beat feels like the standout character in this game. Neku is cool and I like that he goes from edgy dude who was (maybe??) willing to kill a girl to escape the game to the guy who cares and understands others. Beat is just the bro though. He just wants to save his sister. It's tragic that she doesn't remember him and she basically died twice because of him. I want Beat to be happy

That's weird considering it's possibly their best game. They actually shook up the formula, piled on more crazy mechanics, streamlined HMs in a fun way, and actually had a fucking story with stakes and tension
