Yeah, hes a good fit. The bad doctor has always been a bit of a self-important goof ball, and Jim Carey can do that great. But he also possesses the range to give the character some depth.
But it makes sense he would at least consider himself a feminist, with his obsession with Utopianism. Its just he thinks hes the only one smart and worthy enough to build that utopia, and everyone should know it.

Stormed implies they forced their way in, but they were mostly just let in by Capitol Police. They were disorganized and had little direction, but were violent and we are very fortunate they didnt get their hands on anyone.
Definitely more Beer Hall Putsch than anything with a chance of actually succeeding, but it exposed that a good deal of Capitol Police would probably be complicit in a serious coup attempt.

if catan didn't have freeform trading (and used the ports exclusively instead), i'd recommend it a lot more often. really not a fan of the kingmaking potential that rule opens up.

it's still fine, i won't discommend it. but there are others i'd shill for first.

dominion
clank
splendor
azul
carcassonne
stone age (though it has had supply issues in the past, i'm not sure how available this one will be at any given moment)
the hanging gardens (same)
ticket to ride (with the right group)
seven wonders (with a big enough group. needs 4 to be good)

istanbul and five tribes are also great, but maybe not as a first euro.

i feel like i'm forgetting some. it's been a couple years since i've had to make this pitch, lol.
I personally love the meta of late-game trading in Catan, because it's very rare you have everything you need to do what you want at any given time, but you're always sweating bullets about it because trading with some one else could well be a game-losing decision(unless they're doing really poorly or you're a run-away, at which point nobody paying attention is/should give you a good deal). It's lame if you get some one who just decides they want to stop playing and intentionally throws the game though, yeah.

I really like Dominion, but I have a really poor sense as to when to wind down and start going hard on VPs, so I always lose. Played Carcassone once and liked it.

Dark Moon is really good, because it basically splices in a bit of a Mafia-style game. Played it a few times and really liked it. You're basically all cooperating to repair a space station(and you have a character sheet with some special abilities, there's a captain, you can order others to do stuff, vote on whether to quarantine a suspected infected or let some one out, etc.) but some of the players are infected and win by sabotaging the station, and nobody knows who is who. All dice rolls occur behind screens, so you can never be certain if a given player is intentionally turning in bad dice to tank a task or just got a bad roll. The only pitfall is that initial games really favor the uninfected, because the infected are outnumbered and have to play pretty carefully, because their best weapon is paranoia. If the uninfected figure out who the infected are, you might as well end the game in their victory then and there.

Yeah, Catan hits a great sweet spot where its complicated enough to be interesting yet intuitive enough that normies who have never played a board game except Monopoly or Clue can still pick it up relatively quickly and enjoy it. Plus it ends relatively predictably(and takes an hour or less usually) and its hard to wind up in a position where you absolutely cant win and impossible that you cant at least effect things.

I am, of course, referring to pickled cucumbers, mostly, but anything pickled will do. It's the weirdest thing: I don't like cucumbers, and I hate dill, but somehow dill pickles are typically okay. But now I have become a pickle fiend (my HRT is likely to blame) and regularly buy and eat pickles of all kinds, though I think the standard dills are my least favorite. The coolest pickled thing I've had is a spicy pickled okra (called Smokra lol), but they're really expensive so I mostly get cheaper stuff instead.
Like, I even want to just drink the juice. What have I become?

It varies between depictions. I think it works best in Batman TAS because, iirc, it's just implied; never this hardline rule that gets announced repeatedly like, say, in the Nolan trilogy. It's been awhile since I've watched the series, but one of the few times I remember it even coming up was the Batman robo-clone choosing to destroy itself over the system shock of having taken a life. TAS also features the 'ideal' version of Batman wherein he doesn't have that holy war-level hatred of criminals, often pulling his punches and even displaying sympathy / understanding for villains who aren't beyond redemption; so the inherent hypocrisy of him beating the shit out of poor people isn't nearly as glaring as it is in other depictions.
Yeah, TAS handles it well, because its more a part of a personal commitment to avoid excessive force and rooted in a (sometimes naive, when you consider the Joker) belief in the inherent goodness of humanity.

Under the Red Hood also engages with it in a great way (and also does a great job of mirroring it in Ras) The Red Hood, who is the resurrected Jason Todd, lays into Batman for letting the Joker continue to live after what the Joker did to him. I dont remember the details since its been years since I saw it, but it absolutely lives up the hype even without Mark Hamill.

It's dumb. It's the exact kind of stupid, hard-and-fast rule a traumatized billionaire playboy would come up with to emphasize his moral superiority while he pounds a bunch of faceless poors into a bloody pulp and dump his actual antagonists in a mental asylum that's as secure as a public park.

Heartomaton posted...
Batman has done worse things than killing.

I present to you the punishment he laid down upon an enemy called Lord Death Man.

Lord Death Man's power was that he would always resurrect after being killed.

What did Batman do to him?

He dropped him off a skyscraper.

Had Catwoman run him over with a truck.

Stuffed his broken body into a safe.

Launched the safe into the depths of space.

Thus leaving Lord Death Man to continually resurrect and die in a small metal box for the rest of eternity.
And then he goes and does genuinely evil stuff like this and just shrugs and says, "Well, I didn't kill him, so I'm not a sadistic monster."

I think it makes him a better character, because it emphasizes he's just an idiot with an infinite budget for cool tech gadgets.

Like, it cannot be emphasized enough that the U.S. has completely bungled its pandemic response, across two different presidential administrations, in just about every way possible, and it's sometimes transparently in the service of keeping Wall Street happy.

But yeah no, I don't know much of anything about value, sorry. My advice would be not to spend much if you're planning on taking hormones: your body will change a lot and there's no guarantee stuff will still fit you then.
Oh right: sizing for women's clothing is a bit more complicated. I suggest acquiring a measuring tape to size yourself with, so you can be assured of a good fit. They're really cheap. Ring sizers are even cheaper, and a cis woman friend alerted me to their existence.
Like, I think I'm a bit ahead of schedule, but I'm six months in and my breasts are large enough that they're noticeable even in a too-tight sports bra lol(they're not huge or anything, but I look down at my chest and I def have breasts.
