It was always obvious that the government we created was both extremely incompetent and extremely corrupt. We taught a bunch of men to fight for it, but why would you lay down your life for some venal piece of crap who was always going to flee with as much Afghani money he could as soon as things went bad?
We, instead, launched brutal drone strikes which regularly killed civilians in droves and propped up corrupt, brutal warlords and a government engaged in sex trafficking and are shocked nobody wants to die to preserve it.

Yeah, the only places that seems to have coherent governance are either being run by Shinra or are Wutai. Everything else is either some hamlet too small to bother with or a private fiefdom.

Hes pretty cool within FFVII: hes this total badass who goes insane, murders a ton of randos, murders Aeris, and controls Jenova. But is he even separate from Jenova any more? Hes an active presence and toys with Cloud in a really novel way even if his aims are generic for a JRPG antagonist. Kingdom Hearts handles him decently, but nothing else did.

TopicIs there anything to do in Bridgeport, CT?

If youre driving, just be sure to avoid rush hour like the plague, or youll spend a disgusting amount of time crawling down I-95.
The general area has any kind of dining you would want: Fairfield is close by(south via 95 i.e. the opposite direction as New Haven) and super bougie, for better and worse. New Haven is chock full of restaurants, as is Bridgeport(to a lesser extent) and the towns between them all.
New Haven is particularly famous for pizza: the most famous place is Pepes, but Modern also commands a large following. And indie pizza of great quality can be found throughout the region.

Bridgeport is pretty sad, unfortunately. Its a desperately poor and long-neglected city.
New Haven is nearby and a lot livelier though. You could take the train or bus there, or even rent a car and brave I-95 good luck!
Silver Sands in Milford(two towns over towards New Haven) is a pretty nice beach connected with another nice beach via boardwalk(Walnut) that is surrounded by little shops.
And, if you like breweries, Brewport in Bridgeport and Two Roads in Stratford(one town over) are pretty good places.

For better and for worse, we have succeeded in winning hearts and minds.
For the Taliban. Theyll probably be stronger when we leave than they ever were. It is because we and the Afghan government we created have fundamentally failed at every turn.

Glad to see you back!

Got my estradiol upped 2 weeks ago and itscongesting me. Like, my nose, which is apparently an actual potential side effect. Which is weird and annoying, but as I told my trans friend, estradiol will continue at current levels until morale improves!

Youre looking good. And youre still practically at the beginning.

SMT has no social element. Nocturne isnt far removed from the series origins as a dungeon crawler, but its stylish and well-presented. The story is scant, but pretty good. And dark, of course.
And its a good challenge, of course. Never played Persona, but I imagine the battle systems are similar.

Straight from the Speaker's mouth now. To be clear, this is exactly what she said she would do all along, the House Progressive Caucus is both backing her up on it and reminding her they can shut this down if they want.

Isn't this incredibly watered down from what was originally proposed?
Yeah, and only half of it is new spending: the rest is just re-allocating money from other purposes.
Weak ass bill, and the House shouldnt touch it until the Senate passes the $3.5 trillion reconciliation proposal.
I mean, the two combined are still far less than necessary, but

I started with Blazing Sword. I had already cut my teeth on Ogre Battle 64, so I was eager to get my hands on another SRPG.
IMO, Blazing Sword, Path of Radiance, and Three Houses for all its shortcomings are my favorites. I wouldn't say anything other than Shadow Dragon is bad though.

We should have committed to a permanent presence. Or at least an ongoing one until maybe someday things calmed down.

By leaving, we might as well have never even been there 20 years ago. It makes the whole past 2 decades pointless
How many decades are we supposed to stay? 3? 4? 10?
Our very presence and military operations have served to delegitimize the hilariously corrupt and incompetent government we created while legitimizing the Taliban.
If it makes you feel better, Afghanistan will be unified after we leave.

No no, that's different. That's giving a motive of why the person did the thing. I'm pretty sure Noah's Ark story gave God a motive to flood the earth. The thing that would be similar to what i'm talking about is "Why did the person just not murder the other person"
The apocypha talks about how much of humanity at that time were the descendants of Cain so they were all sinful and deserved to die, naturally and they had corrupted the children of Adam's not-evil children, and of renegade angels led by Samyaza who fornicated with human women and created horrible monstrous giants (the Nephilim).

Just...pointing out how crazy it is.
