noticed that this never got picked up by any sub groups which is a shame. was pretty surprised when i noticed it was actually from the solo animator responsible for this cool short animation (https://vimeo.com/68606959). never expected he'd go on to make a feature length film

(gran turismo 7 was already announced last year tho. release date was of course much appreciated at least and it really excites me how much inspiration they've taken from specifically gt2-4)

since i mostly play games that don't have active playerbases in my region i generally do like the presence bots (even if it'd be nicer if the games i'm mostly thinking of just had properly outlined single player content to begin with)

there's one game in particular where if anything i'm more bothered to face actual people, since it usually takes nearly an entire offline round (5ish minutes) before i connect and it's just super laggy to the point of sometimes being unplayable. i've had times where i've even disconnected while waiting to return to the menu after the results screen and subsequently had more points deducted from my record than i gained from the win by failing to reconnect...

games like that with shit netcode really need bot matches to compensate lol

100% Orange Juice is eternally a good indie multiplayer game
(200% Mixed Juice is eternally a good indie multiplayer game with 0 active players besides me)

Fight Crab is really good and fun (note: also on switch but i don't really recommend it), Neo Aquarium is better but less active

Acceleration of Suguri 2 is still decently active now a little over a decade past its initial release and its netcode is remarkably strong

also play Wanba Warriors it owns

even without an obligatory playable mon, gen 4 pokemon already has a solid smash presence so i feel chances of there being anything to go with BDSP or arceus are limited, and it might be a bit too late for anything in sw/sh now

Since this could well be the last time to really talk about Id (Purpleasedon'ttie)... Yeah, it's a Great Song. Turns out these are contests comprised of great songs, and Id has been around enough to arguably more definitively prove that there ARE better (and as the years went by surely more deserving) songs that it has actively denied than any other song. Even now I'm not going to forgive the voters for the terrible, very likely outright artificially rigged results to ensure it "stays forever" to loosely quote another song that pissed me off this year (not to mention scumbag nomination tactics, frequently getting in via people who couldn't care less about what else has been nominated, just memes). This year at least, it did get at least initially nominated naturally iirc, so credit where it's due there.

Id won't be my least favourite winner, but it'd still be out of my top 10 and I am glad its legacy will now lie in the past.

As for resurrectedreplayer, what a low key cinderella story it's had. When blackstarlight bombed a few years ago, I really thought there was basically no chance left for zts to amount to anything like this now, especially as trends seemed to decisively shift in the direction of the likes of xaki for umineko (there have even been points where zts non-epics like discolor have likely been more popular too...). And yet, it is here. So many years since zts epics got known better for their mere classification than their reputation, gradually fading as "gust vs falcom" or "atelier nekomata" or "pso2 the animation" became the new in things, a song that would get comfortably beaten by probably about 5 other songs in its humble, roughly 10 song grouping (especially in a full group poll like what we had the other day) is in the final of this year's contest. Questionable as the consistency of songs this year (much like the last few) has been, that's really something else. Whatever happens to it here, it's already indicated that zts songs are as strong as they've ever been, and... well, I'd say that's wild, but taking one last chance to listen without any bias... It's a gold standard for a reason. Damn straight it's strong af

the mobile versions are supposedly coming pretty soon too

in this case they probably should've just left it as nindies since there wasn't even an actual indie world (original japanese series) version this time

well if anybody noticed my post the other day, they'd likely have noticed that rr and bahram are right next to each other among my remaining songs, and dangan and sonic r are also right next to each other period, so this is pretty hard. additionally, while there was a gap, my opinion of bahram attack remix has only been rising making this even harder...
