Thanks! I went over chapter one with a few corrections and started to write notes for chapter two. Also had a dream that could translate into a really nice short story, but I just wrote it down in my notes and will start on that another time, as not to get distracted.

A lot of things to reflect on:

• This first part was supposed to just be an opener after the prologue, yet it took so much more effort to set up the story.
• The characters here were initially just side characters there to introduce lore and main character. Except now they have a huge part in the story, some with backgrounds and lore involved in what's to come.
• The main character, the person whose POV is most important, was only introduced in the last few pages.
• So much detail and exposition, I might have to cut down. Except I feel some parts aren't detailed enough so the word count might increase, not decrease.

The second I move to Japan and get all this merch the rules change.

I was a huge Aimer fan before she did that Kimetsu opening. Almost everything she does now is really safe and mass appeal.

Ryokuoshoku Shakai was AMAZING but then they did the My Hero Academia openin and every song after that was in that style. Until they did that big band song. Was that for an anime? Whatever it was, they got famous and never sounded the same.

I would say its good for whoever makes money off of it, but its bad for their fans.

People complain about Yoasobi as well regarding this ever since they made it big.

I hope Ano chan doesn't go down that route.

But I think the whole spotlight on a band doing an anime theme is extremely parasitic to an extent.

There are tons of artists in Japan that aren't well known on the outside simply because they're not involved with Anime which is such a shame. I always think of Anime as a double edged sword. No one really gives a shit unless it's for an opening or something. It's the whole reason why artists like Sayuri and Lisa are so big, but others like Nakamura Emi or Leo Leiri are slept on outside Japan. Even Wednesday Campanella is huge here in Japan, but no one knows of their songs anywhere else.

It's not like the Japanese care though. Their own industry is big enough to sustain itself without any outside influence.

One of my favourite idol groups, Onepixcel, had one of their big hits as Dragon Ball supers ending, Lagrima.

When it was announced live on stage that they'd be doing it for Dragon Ball, the members literally broke down in tears. After that their MV got millions of views and they became even more popular, especially in Latin America where they decided to tour. They're now disbanded though, Covid situation hit them hard among other things.

Aba sums it up in the comments:

- Hes never had a license, since he was 19 hes been getting state IDs in michigan, you cant own a state ID if you have a drivers license.
- For many years he drove without a license.
- Fast forward 20 years... He stopped paying his child support for 6+ months despite having the ability to.
- courts automatically issue a suspension of driving privileges whether you have a license or not. This suspension also means you cannot apply for a license. They do this for other fines if you dont pay long enough.
- He pays his child support so a family court judge says his driving privileges, in this case his ability to apply for a license, can be reinstated PROVIDED he paid what he owed but he never payed hence & the suspension is still in place. Thats what the judge was referring to when he said "he hasnt done what hes supposed to".
- He gets stopped by cops who run his name, realize his driving perms are suspended & he doesnt have a license so hes going to court. He used the claim that they reinstated his driving privileges (which they didnt cuz he never paid his fine) to pretend like he had a license and its all a mistake but he didnt.

Hes never had one and he knows this because he admitted it to officer. Thats why he says "I dont know if i ever had a drivers license"... LIKE WHAT? STOP LYING.

The plot twist at the end came out of nowhere for me and I almost broke down. Like I had absolutely no reason to expect that to happen and it just hit me like a truck.

The stinger with Godzilla's beating heart felt like it aped a little too much from GMK and didn't really fit tonally with the rest of the film imo. Kinda funny since both this movie and that deal with a Godzilla directly linked to WW2 and have the monster defeated by a dad blowing it up from the inside. :P

The last line of the movie hit me like a truck too

Not killing fat buu in SSJ3. By Gokus own admission, he could have done it, but wanted his sons to do it instead risking the lives of people, again.

He was thinking about the future of Earth when he was gone, fully intending to stay dead. At this point I'd say he was overseeing it's future fighters, trying to push them and prepare them.

Fighting Kid Buu, yet again Goku of his own admission dragged the fight so Vegeta could get a turn. Then Goku was out of energy when it his turn again.

Goku thought he could take him. When it came down to it, his physical body was too taxing. SSJ3 was totally different in spiritual form, so when he powered up he has no idea how volatile the form really was. Yeah he wanted to give vegeta a chance, but he got screwed because of his body. Again kinda agree here.

So much that even Toriyama had to deliberately go above and beyond to make it crystal clear that Goku is no selfless hero with DragonBall Super.

This was mostly because of the dub portraying him as a superman like character. He loved fighting but also wanted to protect his loved ones.

Out of all those points I think 2 of them were stupid decisions by Goku. Pretty good considering how many times he's saved Earth and others.

Nope. He said to Trunks he was gonna use instant transmission but sensed his power level spike, so sat back and let him deal with it.

Intentionally not stopping the androids, before, they were awakened. He was made aware of their danger, and his reasons for not pursuing wasn't some sense of justice. Him and Vegeta wanted to fight them.

If that was the case, why didn't Trunks deal with it. They simply didn't know where Geros lab was. The whole reason why they were searching for him when he fled Piccolo and Vegeta

Intentionally fighting Vegeta which he was fully aware was aiding in energizing the return of Majin buu. Dude was stronger than Vegeta, but Goku being Goku intentionally dragged the fight on because he values fighting above all else.

Majin Vegeta was unhinged and was Intentionally killing innocent people. In fact that was what goaded Goku into the fight in the first place. It was selfish, but stupid. He could have ended it with SSJ3 but wanted to save it for the real threat, Vegeta fucked it up by knocking him out, trying to take buu on himself.

Just came back from Starbucks, been writing my story and thinking about an argument between three characters regarding the predicament they're in.

DBS did well at the end. Goku Black, Hit, Tournament of power, Ultra instinct, the Broly movies and Super Hero. All kinda blew the internet out the water.
