Brotherhood is a more faithful adaptation, but it speedruns a lot of the early chapters because it kind of assumes people watched the original one first. Events that happen in ten episodes of Brotherhood happen nearly thirty episodes into the original and early plot points have a lot more weight to them because you've spent more time with the characters involved. Both shows are absolutely worth watching, so if you have the time, do both of them. If you must pick just one, watch Brotherhood. That's my biggest issue with Brotherhood.
