Inviso 05/15/24 8:30:14 PM #1 | The tournament has now begun. The discussion topic is here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/80744044 and the bracket is here: https://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=478370 Yesterday, Gen I Fire advanced to the final four, and now it's Gen V Fire's attempt to match that and give us an all-fire showdown to do over the preliminaries. However, as a wild card, Gen V Fire is gonna have to face down Gen III Grass, which has proven in two battles so far that it can hold its own, and earned that five seed. Will we see a type chart elimination, or will Grass triumph in the end? --- Touch fuzzy. Get fuzzier. Inviso |

Inviso 05/15/24 8:00:59 PM #41 | The Elite 8 kicks off with Gen I Fire once again earning that first seed and managing another 20+ vote win over its surprising opponent in Gen VI Dragon, scoring 24-17. I guess that settles the question about Charizard...at least unless Gen I Flying faces Gen I Fire in the finals.

The discussion topic is here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/80744044 and the bracket is here: https://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=478370 Today, we kick off the elite eight with a battle between our one-seed in Gen I Fire, and a somewhat surprising opponent in the lowest remaining seed of Gen VI Dragon. Once again, all of those Mega Evolutions may work in Dragon's favor (including a mega evolution of a Gen I Fire-type), but the one-seed has shown that it has what it takes to make it this far...can it keep the momentum going? --- Touch fuzzy. Inviso 05/14/24 11:54:25 AM #39 | Rounding out the sweet sixteen, we had one spot left and two Gen V rosters vying to claim it. In the end, Gen V Bug proved that it earned its two-seed by blowing out Gen V Ghost for most of the day, up until the very end when a few votes came in to prevent a double-digit loss. Still, Gen V Bug advances by a score of 22-15.

Inviso 05/13/24 10:21:54 AM #1 | The tournament has now begun. The discussion topic is here: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/8-gamefaqs-contests/80744044 and the bracket is here: https://www.bracketmaker.com/tlist.cfm?tid=478370 Our final match of the sweet sixteen sees two Gen V rosters going head-to-head. Gen V Bug has had two impressive showings thus far, dominating its preliminary and going on to trounce Gen VIII Normal in round one. Meanwhile, Gen V Ghost has managed to eke out victories over Gen IX Ghost in the preliminary, and then Gen III Steel in round 1. But it's time to see if Gen V Bug is as strong as it seems, or if it's just had especially tough opposition to reach this point. Likewise, has Gen V Ghost faced the stronger field and come out on top to reach the sweet sixteen. --- Touch fuzzy. Get fuzzier. Inviso |

Inviso 05/13/24 10:16:11 AM #38 | When it came down to two Flying-type rosters, there's a reason why one won its preliminary and the other was merely a wild card. In a comfortable match-up for Gen I Flying, it beat Gen VI Flying by a measure of 24-14 to secure Gen I's second spot in the elite eight.

This will also determine when of Gen I or Gen VI has more than one entrant in the elite eight, because the final match of this round guarantees a second entrant for Gen V. --- Touch fuzzy. Inviso 05/12/24 9:46:34 AM #35 | Man, when it comes to facing off against Water-types, Gen III Psychic likes keeping it close. Meanwhile, Gen IV Psychic faced a Water-type once, going up against the overwhelming quantity of Water-types from its own generation, and in perhaps the closest match-up of round one, it barely scored a victory. The question now becomes: if Gen III Water stronger than its Gen I counterpart, or is Gen III Psychic looking down the barrel of another blowout? --- Touch fuzzy. Get fuzzier. Inviso |
