I'm having a hard time focing myself to read through the rambling of that article, do you have a source using neutral language without all the embellishments that gets to the point you're trying to make?

I disapprove of the ban on abortions, but I also don't think using the right to privacy argument was ever bulletproof. I believe there should be a more substantial law written on the subject, rather than letting it teeter on the edge of a single court case. We had all the time in the world to make abortions legal federally.

I strongly assure you that you are. I don't want to say your concerns are invalid, necessarily, because there are certainly Republicans out there who do want most of that to happen...but that simply won't happen. Most of what you're talking about would go against legal precedent and would be unconstitutional. Regardless of what you think about the police or the military, they're not faceless, nameless grunts who will do anything they're told. They have opinions, families, etc. and are human just as much as you are.

The likelihood of the United States converting into a no-free-speech, no-freedom, no-rights country is pretty much zero. The constitution ensures that.
