Does a lot of cool things, but it's just not a case I ever look forward to replaying. April May and the bellboy both feel like the early blueprints of what the quintessential witness would be; that kind of unique Ace Attorney wackiness that makes every character so memorable even when you don't particularly like them. Redd White was too ambitious a villain for such an early case imo, and the actual mystery is kind of blah, but he is very entertaining.

I kinda forgot Grossberg was here too. He mostly exists to hype Redd White's power and tight control even more, which didn't really pay off at all.

I play them often enough, although admittedly the boxsets are more of a collectable than an actual listening experience. System Shock works fantastically as an album, the entire Persona 5 soundtrack... not so much. I like the ones that are available as Music Mixes with selected tracks, but then they often leave out key tunes (Earthbound not having the full Kraken battle theme is unforgivable), so I'm split. I own the Kazooie soundtrack as a complete boxset and as a music mix; the one on rotation is basically only the latter.

I own a bunch of them. Slippery slope, but I've been into records for about 10 years now. I'm in too deep.

Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Super Metroid, Katamari Damacy, Persona 5, Silent Hill 2, System Shock, Skies of Arcadia, Earthbound, Breath of Fire III... and I'll stop there because now I feel like a doofus.

I'm honestly surprised 30% of the site still lives with their parents, considering something like 90% of the users here are older than 25.

If it gets banned, we'll immediately get a TikTok clone ready to take its place. There may be some fragmentation of the userbase, but ultimately people will flock to a specific platform. Anyone who thinks this modality of social media would end with TikTok is very optimistic and/or deluded.

It feels comforting to know the man left a legacy and influence that will most likely live on forever. I have probably spent more time watching Dragon Ball than any other show, my sister and I wouldn't miss a single episode. Loved Dr. Slump too, such a nostalgia bomb.

I use Messenger all the time. I have friends all over the globe, so there's no single app everyone is using. Phone numbers are unreliable, not everyone made the jump to Instagram. Granted, a lot of people delete their Facebook accounts out of nowhere, but it's still the best way I've found to keep in touch with people I've known since 2013ish or earlier.

I had totally forgotten about that B8 group. Pretty sure I was in it too.

According to Graphtreon, they had almost 8k paying members and were making 30k per month. This looks more like a "take the money and run before we get in deeper shit" type of situation.

L-Block and Vincent should be evident. GFNW is apparently one of B8's top 4 memes of all time, so I'll say the character who originated that meme should receive some accolades. I gave Frog some love here too because he's consistently given us some of the best matches in contest history, which I find more iconic than some other characters whose claim to fame is merely "strong but not as strong as the Noble 9".

I see the argument for Pikachu as a rags to riches story, but idk. That's just symptomatic of the site's attitude towards Pokemon as a whole.

hey, if everyone is using acronyms to talk about games online, making engagement metrics more difficult, you may as well make the game's title impossible to shorten. this is the kind of modern day convenience we've always needed. the future is now!

There's about a zero chance I play this, as much as I enjoyed playing through and 100%ing the original. Life is too short.

I'm surprised at so many people leaving Dexter's Lab off. That was their first significant original program and ran for many years and was a staple of their lineup long after being cancelled. Dexter was basically their mascot for years. I feel like it'd kinda be like leaving Mario off a Nintendo Rushmore.

It'd be a more accurate comparison if Mario had stopped releasing games 15+ years ago. I agree, though. The historical importance for the network and animation in general, including largely launching the careers of some of the most influential people working in cartoons, cannot be understated.

We're all fossils here, so I'm not surprised there's almost no mention of more modern shows. PPG and Adventure Time should require no explanation. Picks like Johnny Bravo feel completely redundant to me.

The mid-2000s should get something in there, and Ben 10 fits the bill pretty well to me, with 5 consecutive shows of great success and huge sales in general. Quick Google search claims it's one of CN's best-selling shows (if not the highest grossing) and was hugely responsible for keeping the network afloat during that time period. $6 billion in retail sales is enormous.

And as odious as I find it, TTG should probably get a place here. Possibly the network's biggest show in the last like, 10 years? But I couldn't justify snubbing either Dexter's Lab or PPG, and I think people here are underestimating Ben 10 in general. So whatever, I'll keep it off the list. I don't think it will be all that fondly remembered tbh - more of a passing phenomenon, mayhaps, even if very representative of the current era of over the top fast-paced cartoons. Maybe something more critically acclaimed and universally beloved will stand the test of time for this era better.

Let's Go Wooloo and Snom

Imagine being stuck with a non-evolving Snom when it has the fourth-lowest base total of all time. They finally decided to make a hard mode Pokemon game.

I'm one of those compulsive gamers who needs to do all available tasks or else I'm unable to move on with the story. The amount of time I completely wasted doing sidequests running from one side of the map to the other just to find out there was fast-travel later... I'll never get those hours back.

Anyway, those logos look like "graphic design is my passion" fakes. The GS ball in the logo? As if. You mean the ball that was basically swept aside in hopes viewers would forget it after the arc was aborted? The GS ball artwork in Crystal looks nothing like the anime design, either.

The exclamation marks are too uninspired too. The Pikachu/Eevee ones used the tails for a much more attractive design. I'd expect them to incorporate something unique from Wooper's design, like the belly markings and/or the axolotl gills, and they'd make the Togepi one reference Togepi's cracked egg shape or head.

I'll eat a copy of Let's Go Wooper live on Stickam if this is real.

Let's Go Pikablu & Tyrogue

I just went to the Pokemon Center a couple weeks ago and they had plushies of all the popular Pokemon you'd expect (starters, legendaries, Pikachu variants)... and then there was Tyrogue. Dozens and dozens of the ugly bastards.

I didn't hate SwSh as much as many others. I actually had a lot of fun with it, overall. The biggest issue for me was the extremely uninspired route/dungeon design. It's always, always a straight path. The old games had an overhead view and you could actually explore something. The caves, especially, were these expansive dungeons with secret entrances and multiple pathways - not that they were some brilliant design, but they did the job. You could get lost there. SwSh's caves and routes are all just paths, which severely limits the exploration aspect. At most there would be a split, and you'd walk 5 seconds to grab an antidote. Basically felt on-rails. Really disappointed with that aspect of the game.

The cities and locales felt far more inspired in SwSh, though. At least you could go into people's homes. They felt more alive. You could talk to NPCs. S/V just had some boring town maps and you could only walk into shops so you could be led into a menu. Hardly any NPCs that aren't just polygons walking around and glitching out.

I also really don't like the battle screens in S/V. Without the dramatic camera angles, the battles feel so, so dull. Not to mention all the texture clipping and glitches that happen as a result of not transitioning into a battle screen. Graphically, SwSh actually looks far better than S/V, which is embarrassing. SwSh also has one of the most annoying beginnings with Hop and/or other NPCs showing up all the time. I really needed some of these people to stfu. It felt almost Dora the Explorer at times with them pointing out where to go.

I guess S/V had the better story and exploration, but I do give the edge to SwSh in some aspects. It's certainly not rendered completely obsolete or unplayable.

I don't know about this Elsa technically not being a Disney princess, but I frankly don't care. She belongs there.
