Something like Topaz or Xueyi, Jingliu, Asta, Natasha or Lynx seems like an okay double DPS team, just considering free units?

I tried watching this and got a few episodes in but what they did to Iroh's character here killed it for me. Don't think I can watch the rest.

It's not the only thing I dislike, but they just fundamentally seem to not understand the original series.

Agreed Papa Nier is better (even with the weird face underwear) but Replicant has waaaaaaaaaaay too many improvements to ever consider the original version.

There are major spoilers for the original in Automata BUT you might not realize them when playing through and also it doesn't spoil everything. Its worth playing either way.

Eh Artifacts are something else entirely imo. There are technically 'best' numerical values, sure, but they don't 'fill up' like Traces, so its fine.

Both Niers are definitely "more than the sum of their parts" IMO

I think both have problems with gameplay (especially OG Nier before the remake), pacing, even some writing bits... but as a taken-as-a-whole experience, they're really something.

Yeah Umineko is basically THE recommendation. It's not perfect but few stories affected my worldview in the way it has and it basically defined a portion of my life.

Higurashi as well, from the same author as Umineko.

Also I personally recommend and heavily enjoyed Danganronpa more so than Zero Escape and AI (though I liked those too).

Cleared out all the exploration chests on HSS, Jarilo, and Loufu now. Still have some challenge maps and repeatable daily puzzles to do though. Also think I'm done with quests on HSS.

Yeah but A2 wasn't really marketed and you barely see her for like a dozen hours.
So the people that didn't finish the game (or didn't play it at all) wouldn't latch on as heavily.

Also 2B is hot and you can explode her dress

Its kind of amazing how most people go into Automata basically only being exposed to 2B but then basically you only play 1 route as her and then she dies.

Should be hitting EL5 within the next couple days to finally get max level unlocked.

I think most people that got into the Nier series actually did it that way tbf since it was really niche before Automata.

Losing interest at the end is fair because that's pretty much why most people are sort of lukewarm on ZTD!

Also a couple people alluded to it, but you can go back and plug "Delta" into the standoff scene, and Sean turns and shoots the camera. That's how I got the Delta reveal.

But yeah ZTD is extremely interesting up until the ending where the plot twist is very "twist for the sake of twisty" and then also doesn't pay off almost anything VLR set up (and that's not even getting into the secret after-ending scene in VLR they added and then did nothing with AT ALL in the international release).

Yeah recording people without their consent isn't even illegal in a lot of US states. In fact its good practice if you ever get in a confrontation with bosses or coworkers because it can potentially help your case in employment issues (as long as you make sure its legal in your state, first).

And according to Selen, she didn't even do that. It was leftover test recordings she didn't even realize she still had. I mean, sure that might be a lie I suppose, but I'm inclined to believe her version of events so far because Niji has both provably told several lies but also changed their story several times. Selen hasn't.

That said, Selen absolutely went around management and they probably had good reason to fire her. Them firing her isn't the issue, it's everything about HOW they did it. Hell, it could probably even be said to be expected for an employee to break the rules if the rules are stupid and abusive, which seems to be the case here.

I finally got around to finishing all the Companion Quests and boy I feel like I need a chart of exactly what happened and who was involved in the Imbibitor Lunae stuff because I still don't feel like I understand what happened lol
