It doesn't help that Democrats conceded to 90% of what the GOP said about immigration while weakly saying they'd handle it better. The Democrats went to bat for DREAMers in 2017 and 2018 and in 2024 they tried to pass a bill that gave Republicans absolutely everything they wanted on the border. It's a losing strategy.

Kamala lost because she embodied the status quo, just like Hillary did. She tied herself in knots trying to differentiate herself from Biden, a historically unpopular President, in any way. She conceded to right-wing framing on basically every issue and, shockingly, voters went with the candidate that sounded better within that framework. You don't win elections by agreeing with your opponent on everything, you win elections by presenting your own vision of the future. She didn't have that and Democrats have not had that since Obama.

They railroaded Biden through the 2020 primary despite his obvious cognitive decline. They railroaded him through the 2024 primary despite his obvious cognitive decline. They committed to upholding the status quo that has rotting the country for decades. They continued to move to the right at every possible opportunity. They ran interference for genocide and shouted down everyone that took issue with ut. They are fully responsible for losing an election that should have been a layup. This is on them. It is genuinely incredible how dogmatically committed they are to being as politically ineffectual as possible. I guarantee you the lesson they will take from this election is that they weren't fascist enough.

Unless someone is already locked in and committed to the whole thing, whatever most embodies that series is going to be the be the best way to get someone to be a fan of it. Starting from the beginning is not always the best idea, either. If you want to get someone into Star Trek, you start with Season 3 of TNG, not Season 1 of TOS.

In a world that is constantly putting you down, some reassurance that there is some unknowable structure to the world via horoscopes and astrology can be very reassuring. Medical institutions are also notorious for trivializing female pain and problems, so I imagine "alternative" medicine that you can prepare at home makes you feel like you have a little more control over your health. The aesthetic of mysticism is also very attractive, I'm sure.

I'll die on the hill defending against claims saying the game has no story. It's not some cutscene-heavy twisty turny rollercoaster like 1-3 but it definitely has a story and lots of worldbuildng that I'm very fond of.

It doesn't have much in the way of plot, but there are so many intersecting stories about basically every aspect of this society and world with so much thought put into them on top of so much for all of the nearly 20 playable characters that I don't know how you can say it has no story.

They don't need to. Israel exists at our pleasure. Biden could have threatened to cut off all foreign aid at absolutely any point and Netanyahu would have had to stand down. Past Republican Presidents understood this and used this tactic to stop past massacres perpetrated by Israel.

It is electoral suicide to unconditionally support this fascist and genocidal state. This is the albatross that is making the race so unbearably close. He's so committed to this morally atrocious and outright stupid position that he is willing to hand the Presidency over to the biggest existential threat the country has ever seen rather than change course. The Middle East gets closer and closer to all-out war for every day he chooses to continue to allow this.

Biden has also continued much of Trump's shitty foreign policy. Obama's nuclear deal with Iran was fantastic and Biden has refused to even attempt replacing it. Trump blew up normalized relations with Cuba and Biden has been in no hurry to fix that, either.

He still has his good points; he got out of Afghanistan, he handled Ukraine well and has severely toned down drone strikes on random civilians. Israel just completely overshadows everything else. Also, putting Hillary's atrocious record on foreign policy as a positive for her is absolutely laughable.

I don't agree with this because of Biden's disastrous foreign policy, but Biden is one of the most anemic and ineffective campaigners in recent memory and he would have lost to any other Republican not named Trump. Obama probably could have beaten any elected Republican of the time in both of his races.
