I wonder if the new list will be the original list with only Trump removed or if it'll just be a list of everyone Trump hates. Because as long as there's an list of names released, his followers will be happy to ignore to agree with it and ignore any evidence Trump was involved.

I've never heard of government policies designed to prevent people from paying their taxes, certainly not to the degree they do to prevent voting. Tax returns are probably more complicated than they need to be for most people, but that's about it. Like, imagine if states could require taxes be filed in person on April 15th during business hours only, with no guaranteed time off that day and certain areas being massively overcrowded such that the line to file taxes is several hours long. And if you don't (or can't) go along with this, the IRS gets to ruin your life forever. That's the sort of issue I'd worry about with compulsory voting.

OK, but what if you enact compulsory voting with strict penalties but also keep using voter suppression tactics to stop people from voting? Would that be a feasible plan to create a permanent criminal underclass with no rights whatsoever? Asking because there's a certain country between Canada and Mexico where I think that would be the likely outcome.
