During the final fight against Ganon, if you don't go get the Master Sword once the flames die down, eventually the flames will come back and you'll need to fight him again.

I kind of felt like this was the case, but I never tested it.

What about if you don't finish him off after Zelda holds him in place? Can he get back up from that?

idk how you didnt think they got killed give the circumstances you meet them all. Only Nabooru and Rauru are questionable. But iirc some Japan guide confirmed they are all dead.

You can probably explain it with something along the lines of "the sages had to die so they could protect the Sacred Realm as spirits, but Nabooru is the Sage of Spirit, so she was able to become a spirit without dying"

Reminds me of something in Dragon Roost Cavern, the first full dungeon in Wind Waker. After you get the Big Key, the path back to the boss now has Fire Keese, so the devs intentionally made the trip back more dangerous... but you can just save and reset to avoid the backtracking. If you got the warp pots you can go to the boss immediately from the beginning of the dungeon.

That actually makes sense if we're talking about the Sephiroth you chase throughout FF7, since he's actually just a puppet body made of Jenova cells and not the real one. His entire body, including his clothes, is just organic matter of Jenova, so the same would apply to the sword.

But if we're talking about SOLDIER Sephiroth, then that's a different story.

Yeah, probably telepathy. But it does imply that she made it to the boss and died like Darunia, which also suggests it may have happened to the other sages. Nabooru is still a bit confusing though, cause it seems like Twinrova didn't want to kill her

I agree. The poster is better, but the Wii U cover is still way nicer than the originals. Though it's weird that it shows Ganondorf and Twili Midna, both extremely late game reveals/spoilers, and not Zant, the villain for most of the game.

Maybe has to do with the fact that that version of Ganondorf was in Smash?

The logical reasoning for it makes some amount of sense given that the Sith tore each other apart when there were lots of them, but ultimately the Sith don't really seem to follow it very much.

Kefka can get away with it because he has the trust of Gestahl. Gestahl probably wouldn't put up with Joker, who has no magic, doing that

If he's serving the Empire he might lose even faster. He'd kill a couple of Imperial soldiers for the heck of it and then they'd declare him a traitor and wipe him out with Magitek armor

I think Kefka's got this. Especially depending on what version of him. Sure we're not using his God form, but if this is post-Thamasa Kefka, he's absorbed lots of espers and may already be the most powerful being in the world aside from the Warring Triad.

All had a fatigue system that fucked your EXP gain when your character got too tired. In all 3 of those cases players despised the system and all 3 games removed the fatigue systems later

Games with enemy scaling like FF8 are also sort of like this. Not quite the same, but Pokmon Black and White also had something where you would earn less EXP the bigger the level gap between you and the enemy to discourage the "only train your starter and make it super overleveled" playstyle

Hell yeah. Swimming around as Zora Link is the best. I know a lot of people hate it, but the Great Bay Temple is my favorite temple in the game.

I love the unique aesthetic of the temple and the music

It depends on what you classify as penultimate. In my view, if you fight a boss after the point of no return, it's part of the final boss. So for example, the last form of Jenova is a final boss, but not the final boss. The penultimate boss would be, uh, Hojo I think? I don't remember if there are any bosses in the North Cave before the end.

Yeah, I think DDD has one of the best OSTs in the series, which is impressive since it's not one of the major titles. I think it all really captures the "dream-like" aspect they were going for with a lot of it.

Once there was a topic asking what your favorite video game soundtrack is, and someone made fun of me when I said DDD. Idk if they assumed that a non-numbered game wouldn't have as good of a soundtrack as the numbered entries or what lol

Has anyone tried doing a "do as much good as possible" cycle? Where you try to do as many positive interactions as possible across the game world?

I did, just about the only thing I couldn't do was gather all the stray fairies since I'd basically have to complete all 4 dungeons in one cycle.

I did this last time I played. It took me several attempts to do it. I saved the dungeons for last, and my game froze during the Twinmold fight, so I had to do it all over again.

So does the game basically hard save when you get to Clock Town for the first time? Since you aren't sent back to the very beginning (i.e. the Lost Woods)

What about 100 men vs. a great white shark (in the water)? That would be more interesting with the shark having an environmental advantage.

Also worth noting, Sasuke at that point actually didn't care if Orochimaru wanted his body. He said as long as he can kill Itachi (whom Orochimaru also has a vendetta against, plus Oro seemingly grants the wishes of his possession victims, so he would def try to do it), he doesn't care. He only changes his mind cause he thinks Oro is too weak.
