Was looking forward to playing this (my copy is already at my doorstep) but I guess it is on my low priority list now.

Whatever. Nioh is taking up all my time anyway (and it is amazing GOAT material) and then there's P5 (which is only just.... my most anticipated game of all time) releasing very soon and I have to get back to Zelda and Trails in the Sky SC as well. Then there's Nier and Nier Automata. Whew. I guess the latter half of the year will be less hectic with my already massive backlog.

Also off-topic but a shout out for Nioh.

I'm about 60% done with the game and it has been an amazing Souls game with Ninja Gaiden and Onimusha infusion. It is different enough to be its own game but it is also very clearly a Souls game with all the mechanics we love about the Souls series being present.

The best thing about Nioh has definitely been the Bosses. Every single one felt like Dark Souls DLC caliber bosses, in that they are consistently good, challenging and well designed. If it keeps this up for the rest of the game it may very well even surpass Bloodborne as my favorite game of this generation. Which would be an incredible feat.

I suggest every Souls fan to at least give Nioh a try if you are on the fence. I really don't think you can go wrong there.

The final boss of the DLC is epic. I lucked out and killed it in my second try during my first playthrough. But then on New Game+, I lost count how many times it killed me before I was finally able to read all its moves with pinpoint precision and satisfyingly end it.

Also you b****ing about the camera is the most ludicrous complaint I've ever heard from anyone playing Souls. There is only one Boss in the whole series where you really have to battle the camera and you'll know who that boss is when you play Dark Souls III. Mind you he is an optional one.

Dragon Age: Inquisition was really bad so Andromeda having similarities to that is making me less interested in the game. Who cares about facial expressions and graphics so long as the story and characters are great.

Awesome game and awesome story which I hope SC concludes. I really wish I played this game under less stressful circumstances though. A month or two ago I made a choose my next playthrough topic on board 8 and the board overwhelmingly voted for T*tS.

Even though my experience with the game has been wonderful it came during a very busy and stressful time. It almost became like an obligation than a means of entertainment (playing RE7 in between gave me even less time) because after a while I really wanted to finish the game so I can play Nioh or Zelda.

I decided that SC deserves to be played during a stress free time so I can soak up everything the game has to offer. I kinda regret some of the times I did a rush job with the first game.

But for now a Souls (type) game awaits me and that comes before everything. Even a game like Zelda: BoTW (which I did play for a while to see what it was like) sits on the shelf to make way for it. I have almost a week of free time so this couldn't have come at a better time.

So from tomorrow, I Eat. Sleep. Nioh. Repeat.

P.S - I request for no discussion on Trails in the Sky and SC on this topic. I will share my thoughts on the two games once I'm done with SC. Thanks.

Memories of Celceta is a very good Action JRPG and I enjoyed it a lot but the games I played before them weren't that good. I played Ys III on SNES and Ark of Napishtim on PS2. Didn't like either.

The gameplay and music were definitely the highlight of Memories of Celceta. The story and characters are merely above average.

I've been playing BotW for the past few hours and it is amazing. You can see that Nintendo really went all out with this one. While there are minor flaws no doubt it is greatly overshadowed by how great everything else is. So far I'm liking the characters and story more than Skyward Sword which IMO was the best in that department to date.

The Switch also makes it very convenient to play while travelling which is a huge plus for me since I don't get too much time to play on TV at home due to work. So I can't wait to play the likes of Xenoblade 2 and Mario Odyssey on it in the future.

Anyone on the fence about buying a Switch and Zelda should take the leap or at least consider buying it in the future. Don't let a well known Nintendo hater on the board change your mind.

The lore behind Iron Golem was interesting. Too bad the boss fight itself was disappointing difficulty-wise. Design-wise you really can't go wrong with towering armored beings.

Yakuza 0 just came out, so again, it's close! Bloodborne is probably my #2 this gen.

What is this about Yakuza that I have been seeing on the board lately?

I'm likely the biggest fan of Shenmue on this board and hearing Yakuza is of similar nature I picked up and tried Yakuza 1 way back then. Got really bored, dropped the game and never gave the series a chance after that. It must have been like a decade ago. Why is the series suddenly good?
