It looks incredible, but it also fills the screen with chaos making it more difficult to see what your enemies are doing.

I assume it's more useful on bigger enemies.

Regardless it's still one of my favorite setups just because it's a damn cool spell.

My dad grew up with the originals and someone spoiled the twist for him before he got to see it in theaters. So he made sure I wasn't, which wasn't difficult since I was 8.

And yeah I was blown away. My sister needed to use the bathroom so dad had to take her and missed my reaction which is kind of a bummer for him.

Well apparently not. I read somewhere that it would be a good setup but I just checked for myself and it does indeed only work for attack spells. Sad.

Connecting it to Comet or Quake is usually good though. Aerith can setup an Arcane and Radiant Ward in order to double cast while also staying invincible during the casting animation.

I managed to get through the first brutal challenge somehow. The next one I couldn't even get to the final round.

I usually love when games have a parry system, but I feel this one was implemented somewhat poorly. It doesn't feel fluid enough since you can't cancel attack animations.

On top of that you're usually dealing with multiple enemies at once who can spam attacks. It's the opposite of fun when I enter a combat challenge and immediately get stunlocked to death.

Maybe the Yuffie plasma build would yield better results. Set a teammate up with synergy+heal so you get constant healing? I haven't tried it myself yet so not sure how effective it would be.

You might be able to skip the mini games if you go straight to Event Square I think? Where the main mission commences. I was able to skip them on NG+ so it might only be an option after beating the game.

Let's see, Loki, Vulture, Killmonger, Thanos... I figure everyone would agree on those being the best. Oh and Green Goblin, Willem Dafoe truly made that character his own in No Way Home.

Personally I also loved Justin Hammer and wish he'd come back. Scarlet Witch as a villain was fun, but coulda used a bit more buildup.

I was actually hyped for Kang until... well the drama happened.

Sad that they completely backtracked on how they handle villains. That Ronan cosplayer from the Marvels was embarrassing.

Cool, I'm interested. Doubtful that any of these movies will actually be good but I'll stay hopeful for now.

I'm not a huge fan of horror films but that's mostly because they largely aren't the type of scary that I enjoy. I prefer the creepy atmosphere like in Nightmare Before Christmas. If Poohniverse can do something like that in a more mature way I'll be hooked.

But it'll more likely be generic cheap schlock, "oh no Pooh is mean now and he has a taste for blood, cue the lazy jump scares"

No doubt this is one of the best game soundtracks in existence. I was so excited when I first heard this metal chocobo theme.

I figured the title would be Metal De Chocobo but apparently that's a different track from another FF.

Don't worry it took me about the same amount of time to figure that out too.

It was a huge relief when I went back to collect the stops I missed.

What games nowadays have good water? I'm genuinely asking because I wish game devs hadn't just given up on water levels. ABZU and Subnautica prove that they can be fantastic.

And most games don't even try to reach the quality of Uncharted 4 water.

And from what I've seen most people aren't even that blatant about it. It's often hidden by sarcasm which LMS doesn't understand anyway. So he probably takes those remarks as compliments.

Gongaga looks pretty at least. If it wasn't such a damn nightmare to navigate it wouldn't be so bad.

The limited chocobo controls don't help. Why can't they all have a soft glide function to easily get down from cliffs? Design choices like that are what baffle me.

It's even more glaring with the final area chocobo being so far above the rest in quality

We have tried. As mentioned he doesn't engage with anyone trying to have an actual conversation with him.

Which is why I'm sticking to my theory that he's an AI. If he was just a regular troll looking for attention, wouldn't he post in topics like this? He won't though, and that seems unnatural to me.

But who knows, maybe he is just super committed to the bit and if so I can respect that as well.

You literally had to vacuum the floor in the opening section of Rebirth. Three times. While Seph watches.

Then you have to walk slooooowly through a burning village, then even more slowly press the shoulder buttons while Sephiroth just stands there with guns pointed at him.

The amount of time Rebirth wastes on stupid shit is honestly kinda ridiculous. As much as I love the game, it still suffers from busywork and generic open world nonsense.

No one has said anything about hating Rebirth though, the complaints come from a place of love I believe.

It could be much closer to a perfect game if some aspects were a little more polished.

I did die in the final battle and was equally confused by those options.

The fight didn't need to consist of a thousand phases, doesn't bode well for people with ADHD.

It's extra baffling on account of not having inverted flight controls.

In what flight sim does down actually point you down? It's completely asinine, especially considering the plethora of accessibility options already in the game.

I miss Full Throttle, at least those topics had information in them

Tifa has a move called Gale something that gets her airborne.

Though you're better off using her synergy attack that instantly throws her into airborne combat.

I mainly play as Cloud and I'm in the air more often than not. He can stay up there forever.

Glad it wasn't just me! The others didn't make me feel a whole lot, a bit too melodramatic. Then I got to Aerith and wow, it broke my heart.

Well I do agree that an everyone lives ending would be lame. Just like it was for KH3. Still haven't gotten over how poorly (lazily) that was done.

I mean from my experience most JRPGs involve some kind of "defying fate" theme. How many of them end with you fighting a god? All of them? Seems about right.

Easily the worst sidequest in the game, maybe history. The second chicken pissed me off so much that I just left it alone until some time after I beat the game.

Also 3D Brawler is ridiculous. The final challenger can attack from any direction and it's practically impossible to tell the difference between some of them. Pausing every time they start an attack makes it much easier but even then the telegraphs are just too similar.

I haven't even tried to touch the situp minigame since the initial one. Once I saw the next round would require adaptive trigger nonsense I immediately said fuck that noise and never looked back.

Some of these minigames are just way too frustrating. Maybe I'll grow on them over time but as of now I don't see the platinum in my future.

Yeah she'll most likely return for the next game, either as an alternate timeline version or they find a way to revive her. I think they still needed to "kill" her because it's a focal point for the story. Like she HAS to die in order for the world(s) to be saved.

Sephiroth knows that has to happen though, so he should know that it's what ultimately causes his failure. I wonder what plan he has to deal with that.

Oh I wouldn't like that, they're much more fun to play as than Aerith.

Roche is great! Though I kinda figured he would die since he wasn't in the original game. Granted he's not exactly dead yet, maybe he'll be healed and become bros with Cloud and Zack.

As for Aerith, there's some multiverse shenanigans going on (which was hinted at in Remake), but she is in fact dead. At least the one that we've been travelling with is. We can only guess how the alternate timelines will effect the main one in the third installment.

The original story is still overall in tact though. Sephiroth's goal has just shifted from taking over one planet to taking over all of them now.

Got tired of waiting for someone to make a topic since I wanna see what people think of the ending. I personally loved it even though it was slightly confusing at first.

Before we get into the actual details, I just want to warn y'all that there will be unmarked spoilers so if you haven't seen the ending please stop reading here.

Now with that out of the way, let the spoilers commence!

I never even tried to remove Cloud from my team since he's my favorite to play as. Along with Yuffie and Cait, that was my main team.

I do agree it's stupid, but I did just confirm that he can be switched out on NG+ at least.

They also don't use mp, I relied on them a lot throughout the first half of the game, even somewhat in the later half.

But at some point naturally the materia spells are more effective and ATB is better spent on more powerful skills.

I finally met my match at Queen's Blood, the very final challenger of course.

I need to update my deck since I've been pretty much using the same one for the entire game. Now I have too many cards to choose from ugh it can wait til later

Holy Jenova there's so much to clean up after finishing the story.

There's a bazillion minigames, plus all the combat simulations... not sure I have the patience for this

There are definitely some poorly designed aspects in an otherwise fantastic game. Many times where it forces you to move slowly for no reason.

The open world also needed some improvement, can't tell you how many times my chocobo has bonked on a small ledge that it should easily be able to run over.

The chocobo controls actually leave a lot to be desired honestly. Except the last region variant, that one's ability is by far the best.

Yuffie consistently made me laugh throughout the game, she's like an energetic younger sister. Her interactions with Barret are especially endearing to me.

Demons Souls didnt need story adjustments, and the lore is tied to other games. Also, BluePoint made it. Not FromSoft. You cant take an ip youre being given only to do an HD remaster and change plot stuff without permission.

They were given permission to add more content for the unused archstone. I didn't need more added to the story, just extra gameplay woulda been nice. Also it's a standalone, the lore isn't connected to any other game.

Remakes should be used to expand and freshen up the story and gameplay. That way they don't replace the original, they accompany it instead.

Red is a dog so it makes more sense to me for his voice to have somewhat of a growl to it. His gruff voice is perfect, his child voice is annoying.

As for the story, I've enjoyed the changes they made so far (though I haven't beaten Rebirth yet), much better than doing a 1 to 1 recreation. Demons Souls did that and it's worse off for it. Remakes need to have some fresh material for it to be worth it imo.

I would recommend another topic marked for spoilers.

Also I've been fine with all the voices up to a certain point. They completely ruined Red for me, can't even stand to use him in combat anymore, really sad.

At least Cait Sith is awesome enough!
