The Chicken Side Quest has one of the funniest endings. It ended up being worth it to me.

Totally agree with what you wrote regarding the last stretch of the game clearly being rushed and less than what came before. It's a real shame too because it will have an outsized impact on the game's reputation - it was 80-90% exceptional, then really falls hard from Ch.11 and especially in Ch.13 and 14. And fairly or not, every fan of the OG is going to compare how ToTA and the Forgotten Capital were handled in the OG with Rebirth, and I think most will say the OG's efforts were much stronger.

Got way too excited any time a location said "new QB players in your area" - it's like everything's put on hold, minimap pulled up and beeline to nearest opponent, lol

Yeah, it's funny because after I beat the game (and made that post) I was able to looking at the stream of this one FF7 streamer I watch on Twitch and he said the same thing so at least I know I wasn't alone. I've seen other comments like "it's a 9.5 game knocked down to a 7" because of that and I wouldn't go that far... I want to give it a 9.5 but it's tough when they don't stick the landing at all, imo.

It was one thing to watch people who never played the original game play Remake - and I got a kick out of it at the time - but I can't even imagine the experience of someone who (still) hasn't played the original game playing the temple through the ending in this one. Especially someone who somehow avoided the Aerith Dies spoiler all this time... curious how they'd find the experience.

It's like you can see the seams of the production a bit.

It's wayyy more naked than 7R1. Which is fine, it was never going to be as magical the second time around. But the open world has near 0 magic, which makes for a much starker contrast with the cool parts. r u i n e d

Performance mode as far as I can tell is just a bit lower internal resolution. You can see the difference close to the TV but not at any decent distance.

Yeah there's literally just no reason not to play on performance mode. Idk why they won't make it the default.

Default mode for games is a system level setting, you can change it on your PS5. Go to Saved Date and Game/App Settings, then Game Presets.

Because I always launch in Performance Mode, it's always extremely jarring when I switch to check out Graphics Mode hours in and everyone is suddenly walking through molasses.

I started on Graphics mode and it looks good to me!

Every single screenshot I've seen of Graphics to Performance comparison showing how the Performance mode looks "worse" has been a 10x zoomed screenshot of Tifa's shoulder or some shit.

The game looks identical on both modes when actually playing it. The only people who actually notice a difference are the same people who post GIFs of Cloud getting out of the water and not dripping onto the floor and screaming"Oh the PS5 is fucking COOKED!".

I just got to Yuffie and I find her about 1/10th as bad as Kyrie

It would be difficult to be even remotely as awful as Kyrie.

Agreed, arguably the best moment and best scene.

Man, Johnny and Kyrie are great, you guys are crazy. Can I also say how much I'm enjoying Elena? She's such a horrible brat everytime she's on screen, she's awesome.

This was great, their brother-sister dynamic is hilarious. But the best line read for me so far (chapter 7 spoilers) is when you're climbing Mt. Corel and Aerith is getting light-headed and Red is telling her she's becoming one with the planet and Cloud is just like "The hell are you doin', Red?"

It just reminded me of Ronan getting so confused at the end of Guardian's of the Galaxy that he completely drops character for one line.

Yall need to remember how to have fun, dear lord. What's wrong with goofy characters?

They really should have just implemented a jump button. Why are airborne enemies so fucking annoying and so plentiful?? Also would have made a lot of sense given the open world design they went with.

The only character I can think of who has trouble hitting airborne enemies is Red.

Weren't you on the opposite end of this earlier saying you toggled on graphics mode and were saying how do people play like this saying it was bad? I've had zero issues with graphics mode and would say that any difference you're noticing is akin to what you're saying about graphics mode above

With Cloud you need to roll, then hold attack and he'll fly up into the air with them.

Tifa has a move called Gale something that gets her airborne.

He's not wrong....uh, well the metaphor is wierd, but the message isn't. I would probably be happier if I didn't consider 30 FPS to be huge negative on a game.

That new Thousand Year Door HD release is being capped to 30 down from the Gamecube's 60, which means I'm not getting it anymore. Would rather just not care!

I would rather have 30 FPS and high resolution than 60 FPS and lower resolution

If that's something you can really tell them that's your call to make, they're completely indistinguishable to me.

I'd rather play 480p 60 than 4K 30, so there's not much that can sway me lol

Though you're better off using her synergy attack that instantly throws her into airborne combat.

I mainly play as Cloud and I'm in the air more often than not. He can stay up there forever.

I had an old roommate who was OK with his laptop running Warframe at sub 20, even though it COULD do around 45, and he insisted he couldn't tell.

I play Switch games that run sub-30 all the time and I can easily deal. But I'd never actively choose less over more regardless of graphics or resolution. Gameplay should always be prioritized over graphics. Which is why shit like TTYD HD is both baffling and infuriating.

At least with something like all the repeated terrible Symphonia rereleases they have an excuse. A bad one, but it's there. Not sure what happened here with TTYD. Even the Switch can't be THAT shitty, right?

If something was running completely ass and like 10-15 FPS then I'd care. That's what used to happen in crowded raid settings back in the day. But if something is 30 FPS then it's fine.

TV shows are shot in 24-30 FPS. Live sports are usually 30 FPS. But I never hear people complain about shitty FPS when watching TV shows and demand 60 FPS
