Like, using the soft i and using the long e for sing - it's not a significant enough difference to really bat an eye at.

Sang is probably not properly represented in the poll though - there's a third pronunciation of it if you want to get into the weeds. I imagine a lot of people probably pronounce it in the middle with the pure 'e' vowel sound, as opposed to a stronger diphthong which I imagine is what some people are shaking their heads at.

Not sure about the a like in sat... I might be overthinking that one in a way that sounds like completely lunacy, and as said, might be closer to the pure 'e'.

Technically yes, but the difference usually results in the 'g' being dropped.

I can pronounce the vowl difference between "sat" and "say" just fine, but adding an "ng" at the end of those vowl sounds makes them identical for me

Same goes for the "sit, ski, sing" situation

On the subject of Newsom - I think y'all overrating how much an impact the hate against him would work against him. I mean, the people who are going to vote against him won't suddenly do so if he's from Iowa instead of CA. The people who weren't going to vote probably won't get out of bed just because he's from CA.

What matters is stirring the young vote while also bringing in the people who are "moderate" enough who normally would be apathetic to voting.

Can he go on a debate and slam dunk his political opponent? Is he able to look good and young doing so?

If yes, he's a good candidate.

I would generally say that people who like the characters and feel-good nature of the show still really like the rest of it.

People who like plot and humor and writing, less so.

Roy Kent is by and far the best character of season 2, and some people might say he's the only good character in it (aside from Trent Crimm, from the Independent).

Most everybody I know who played it before Dark Souls came out thought it was too difficult and a bit of a slog.

I think Dark Souls having great design helped to pull people into the genre in a way that Demon's Souls could not.

It's a very cultural thing. Rural America is the largest echo chamber in the country (though one could say it's thousands of small echo chambers).

You can blame it on education, but these are people who don't have their worldview challenged and don't ever engage with liberals or LGBT folk (to their knowledge) or conservatives with moderate views or any minority races.

What I always say is that colleges don't make people more liberal - it's the other students that make people more liberal.

Everett Ross is another very weird use of a character in this show. He literally existed only as an introduction to the concept of Skrulls, seeing him getting rescued in the ending is just like... man you could've actually had a role.

He would have been better as the main character.

But really, this should have been an Avengers movie that went full-out with almost everyone being Skrulls. Or have that be Spider-Man 4 - he's the only one not a Skrull because everyone forgot about him.

Would've been a ballsy move for Secret Invasion to Keep Maria Hill around for the whole series just to have her revealed as a Skrull in the end, manipulating Fury so that she could take over the Skrull army away from Ken.

Would've been good for them to do ANYthing, but the only Skrulls we get are Rhodey and Bilbo. I mean, come on.

Boring.

Moon Knight episode 1 was good.
2 was serviceable.
The remainder dropped the ball of being anything worthwhile. Stakes were crap, world building was crap, world integration was crap.

Secret Invasion is much in the same hole, except without having a good episode.

This is not a concept that should exist for only Nick Fury and Rhodey.
