I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. I sort of liked my time with it, but I have no intention of playing any more games from this series.

Is it because nothing makes sense? I hate that about some games too.

The plot was straightforward, and the objects and puzzle integration were largely logical. I guess that it never really hooked me at any point. It was a consistently above-average experience.

16. Beat a rhythm game
Chime Sharp

After floundering in my first few attempts at beating this, I assumed that I would have to move on and do either Pato Box for my 2018 game or boot up SSB64 or Melee for Fighting game. I went back to this game only because the game I originally wanted to play needed to download a patch, and I guess tonight was my night.

That makes 50 on the year, so I await 2019.

Chime Sharp for PS4

I loved the first game, so much so that I bought it twice! This feels like a step down, if only because I did not like the 3D-ish graphic style and felt like either it was hindering me or I was allowing it to. Apparently you can change it, but that might be only for the PC version because I saw nothing in any of the menus for the PS4 version.

Anyway, I had given up all hope of "beating" each song on standard mode. I had many in the 30-40% coverage range and just assumed that I was doomed. For reference, you need 60+% to "beat" a level. I was actually planning to play a different game tonight but when I was forced to download a patch for it, I played this to kill the time, and I was in the zone. I will probably come back to it in the future to see how I fare in the more challenging modes.

Relatively soon depending on what your issues were. There will still be plenty of cheap deaths and the boss fights will still suck, but the puzzles will improve tremendously.

Over the past nine months, I have been replaying the entire series. I just need to determine if I want to buy the ODST MCC add-on or play my 360 copy. Hopefully, I will get through that and 5 before the end of the year.

I liked Reach just fine. I just didn't love it. Campaign wasn't near the realm of what CE, 3, and ODST achieved. Online didn't have anywhere near the lasting appeal that 2 or 4 had.

That makes it the odd one out. I haven't played enough of 5 to render judgment, but I've had a lot of fun with it online.

Shatter for PC

This is one of my oldest non-Valve Steam games (all games I owned prior to 2010 were made by Valve), and I finally got around to beating the final five or six levels. I think that I beat the final boss in like 60-75 seconds when two or three bosses earlier took over 10 minutes and multiple continues.

Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings for PC

A solid arcade baseball game that I had plenty of fun with. Unfortunately, it has little lasting appeal to me due to various issues I had with the game.

- I utilize check swing a lot, but the check swing in this game is awful. They need to tweak things so that the button sensitivity/contextuality is much more refined.
- While the pitching and batting controls (aside from the above issue) are great, the baserunning and fielding controls are unintuitive.
- Fielding in general never seems right. It doesn't help that I do not have full control over my fielders, and they often take bad angles that give batters two extra bases.
- The Batting Angle should not be angled like it is. It shouldn't be a reason why its hard to discern a ball from a strike.
