KCF0107 01/28/18 5:42:58 PM #204 | I have typed out all categories and nominees except Breakout, Comeback, and GM of the Year. I am also debating if I want to do LVP again but completely change the criteria to where instead of poor production I might do a cap hit vs production comparison. I'm not sure how I should weigh injuries in this though. I have many days to make a final decision. You will eventually see the list of categories and nominees within the next week, but it was requested of me to include all OL/WR/TE/HB/QB for Off Player and DL/LB/DB for Def Player. I will do that for this year, but I am already leaning toward not doing that again for next year due to how bloated the pool of players are and also a fatal flaw that showed up again and was a major reason why I never did it before. I'm sure an eagle-eyed person will discover it when the time comes. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/28/18 4:16:46 PM #203 | I'm coming up with part of the award ballot right now (I won't post them until after sending out stat PMs), and Madden's finalists for Kicker of the Year were kind of bad. It took me 25 minutes to determine who between five players to send to the two replacement spots on the ballot. All three players cut were from user teams, so I'm expecting some unhappy people when I eventually post them. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/28/18 1:54:00 AM #235 | So I intend to rank: - Escape Rooms - Characters - Teams And in doing so, I think that will cover a lot of my thoughts toward the game. Anyone is free to comment or ask any questions from me in the meantime. That being said, it is probably my least favorite game from the trilogy. I think the biggest issue is that the disjointed design from fragments makes it really hard to get into the groove with the plot and characters. A lackluster script and poor visuals/special effects also hindered some moments, themes, and characters, so there was plenty that didn't resonate with me and plenty that infuriated me. While the escape room puzzles overall probably weren't as good as those in VLR, I like how they were meaty yet brief. I'm also glad that they didn't hold punches this time. VLR never treading into the really dark territory and lack of atmosphere really held it back, but those were among ZTD's best strengths. While the first two games kind of dragged to its disappointing finale, I must say that ZTD finished quite strong after being Ever17'd toward the end. It is true that the game didn't really resolve the core issue of preventing humanity from the apocalypse and instead traded one of the other, but I can forgive it because of stuff like everything with Delta and the C team SHIFTing bonanza. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/28/18 1:34:17 AM #226 | Final Decision I was confused as to when Carlos got the alien cards (not that I believe they explained how anyone figured out those are thick enough to be impenetrable to the watch needles), but I guess Akane got them off camera as he lured Junpei away. So many pot calling kettle black moments in this game. Carlos didn't let Junpei in on the plan because Junpei seemed like he was a bad actor, but Carlos was awful at selling his act. I'm also confused on Delta's motives. So far, I have heard he did it to save humanity, because he wanted to be born with the mind hacking abilities, and he was simply curious. While I guess those aren't in conflict with each other, they seem to be all over the place. Phi was sent from 1904 to 2008, but Delta really is 124 years old. Is that just not going to be explained how he became the oldest person on record to live and for him to be as physically and mentally spry as he is? For as good as some people are at operating during a crisis, Phi and Eric are are basically at the bottom of that totem poll, and I can't really feel sorry for the rest for letting those two lead them to a self-destruct counter. I could do without a totally uncalled for shot of dead Gab. I guess I forgot that the characters wouldn't know that Delta can control minds. Well, Diana probably did based when she survived the quantum room massacre, but she's not exactly great at putting two and two together. Ah yes, one of the oldest tricks in the book: Have the villain tell the protagonists they have two options and die before the second one is revealed. We love it when that happens, said no one ever. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/28/18 1:05:52 AM #194 | The Pioneers finished strong and with a balanced team in all aspects in the game, they stand to have a shot against anyone. QB Russell Wilson was the AFC Player of the Week a whopping four times, but he had just as many dud performances. He can't Blake Bortles it up because the Pioneers aren't designed to dig themselves out of huge holes. The Bills were the anti-Dolphins. They could score a lot of points and in fact were tops in the AFC in points scored, but they didn't move the ball well. They ended up 14th in total offense. Their defense was worst in the NFL for a decent stretch, but they brought it down to 27th by the end. Those aren't great rankings, but they had the fourth-fewest giveaways in the NFL. The point of the game is to score more than your opponents do, and if the Bills score more than anyone in the AFC, who am I to argue about their chances? The Giants really struggled in the second half, especially on offense. No team scored fewer points among playoff teams than the Giants, but the Panthers only scored eight more than them. Their tilt against the Panthers is, in my opinion, the most even-matched game from the Wild Card round, and based on talent, injuries, and recent history, the Giants might be the favorites. The Panthers really limped into the playoffs, and the injuries are piling up. Even though Matt Ryan easily had his worst year, going from him to Chad Henne cannot be a good sign when you are facing the Giants D. The good news is that HB Reggie Bush has been great at carrying the load, and the Panthers defense did end up 3rd. It will probably be an ugly game, but the Panthers certainly can win as long as their offense isn't a complete letdown. While I'm glad to see that the Bengals had a comeback season in the win column, they should be the overwhelming underdogs at home against the Jets despite their earlier victory over them. They haven't much consistency throughout the season and in a stronger division, they would probably be looking at a Top 10 pick. HB Erik Haw made a blistering run in the second half to fight for the rushing title, and I'm placing them next-to-last solely because of him. Maybe injuries can be said to be a factor, but this team was never hot at any point in the season. Their best winning streak was two games, and nothing about their game really stood out at any point. I guess they have a chance against the Vikings because they're weird like that and the Vikings have never won a playoff game I think (not that that has any meaning), but you have to wonder how a team like the 49ers, who fielded a Top 10 O and D, would have done in the playoffs instead. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/28/18 12:39:51 AM #193 | Cowboys are the class of the league. #2 in total offense. #1 in total defense. +16 turnover differential is six better than the next-best team. +201 point differential is 44 better than the next best team. That's almost a FG difference per game over the second-best team! Broncos have a great argument for being as good as the Cowboys. #1 in total offense. #2 in total defense. +5 turnover differential. +157 point differential. They could potentially face their playoff rival the Miami Dolphins whom they lost to in OT at home Week 2. This Broncos team is much different and better than that team and would definitely be the favorites in a rematch. The Dolphins' offense could move against anyone, but they had trouble scoring points for awhile. Their defense settled after a bad start. and the injuries that plagued them at OL and HB are mostly gone now and have helped them end the season on a three-game winning streak. By the time they play their first playoff game, their entire squad could be healthy. With the talent they have, and fielding a Top 10 offense and defense this season, they are definitely among the SB favorites. Not even Matt Leinart can stop Romance Taylor and the Jets stout defense from winning games. Still, it is a bit of a concern that Drew Brees has been pulled (my guess is due to injury) for three straight games, two of which resulted in wins over the playoff-bound Bills. More alarming are the amount of INTs Leinart has thrown in shared QB duty. We saw, coincidentally, Drew Brees throw 13 INTs in the postseason for the SB-winning Redskins all those seasons ago with a strikingly similar style of team as the Jets have this season, so the Jets have a shot at making the Super Bowl as a Wild Card for the second time. They first have to get past the Bengals who beat them in Cincinnati Week 12. The Rams have a potent-balanced offense that has shown it can wreck anyone. If I do end up putting AIs among the list for GM of the Year, the Rams' GM has a good case to win by selecting QB Ryan Tannehill, who had far and away the best rookie season by any QB in B8NFLL history and one of the best if this was real life, and trading for Ronnie Brown who tore it up playing for his third team in four seasons. The defense, while not great, has improved considerably from last season, so there's hope for the Rams to make their first B8NFLL SB. I mentioned earlier in the season that the Vikings have sneakily recorded the most seasons with a Top 10 O and D. You can add another to the pile. After becoming a Breakout Player of the Year candidate in S8, QB Josh Portis has put himself in the MVP discussion with improved statistics across the board, including with a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. A win in their Wild Card game would give them the Rams in the second round, so they control their own destiny for the most favorable path to a SB. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/27/18 7:09:30 PM #212 | I wanted to wrap up the Q fragment, so I intentionally messed up the helmet code and put in Gab for real Zero, but nothing particular interested happened in either case. I also wrapped up Force Quit for Q team, and nothing stood out to me except noticing just how excessively long Mira's legs are. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/27/18 7:04:48 PM #210 | Q team: Q Damn, I needed Q's helmet code and had to spend some time looking for it again. I guess it's go-time. I must put in who I think is Zero. There's no question that it's Delta, so I'm a little bummed that this decision doesn't have the impact that it should. "Stop yapping Sean. This old man's name is Q" - Eric to Q/Sean - Uh, what the fuck is going on? Eric never called Q Sean before and what's this about an old ma...there was a goddamn man in a wheelchair here the entire time and he followed around all the teams in their fragments!?. Nobody acknowledged his presence at any time? So for like 90% of the game, the camera was always from his perspective? This is so ridiculously stupid that I love it. Now this is a twist I can appreciate for its subtle, simple, ludicrosity. Delta cops to killing Mira because she was a serial killer. However, Mira killed Junpei (never went into the circumstances. Mira was also a collaborator in the sense that Delta allowed her to do whatever she wanted without any barriers, including being drugged. I'm glad they brought it up again, but Heart Ripper was the serial killer's name given by police/media. She was the cloaked killer? Her skin tone didn't match that cloaked person at all. I looked it up online immediately after being told this, and I guess their nails matched, but I never paid close attention to that. I have other issues with that particular revelation, but I can save that for character rankings and overall game takeaways. Delta has mind control powers it seems, so that explains the First come, First saved fragments. He spared his mom for reasons unknown. Only difference Sigma and Diana should be to him on a personal level is that she named him, so sucks to be Sigma I guess. Out of curiosity, I put in Delta for Triangle since they did ask me for Q's real name. Eureka! I still don't understand how Eric knows that Q is Sean in this timeline, but maybe Eric never called Sean Q ever, and I just made an incorrect assumption regarding that. Anyway, the conclusion was hilarious and that could be my favorite moment in the game. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |

KCF0107 01/27/18 6:46:45 PM #207 | C team, Force Quit return Vive Hodie was exactly what I needed, not that it makes sense to me for Carlos to know it. He wasn't there when Delta/Zero uttered it. Then again, if SHIFTing and morphogenetic field stuff are essentially the same thing, maybe he unknowingly gained the information through the pool of Akane and Junpei's knowledge. Uh...it's clearly an act, but where is this fake flirting and rape thing leading to? I'm guessing that Carlos broke the glass to collect the shards and hand them out to everyone out of the view of cameras. Maybe? I don't know, but it appears that something was exchanged behind the bar and Carlos raised suspicion earlier to not raise suspicion later. Q team: Force Quit I swear there are more solo Gab shots than of anyone else in the game save maybe Diana and Eric. Does Gab have a camera on him or something? They eventually wanted a number code for the quantum computer. It wasn't the one for Q's head (it took ages for me to find where I wrote it down), so I guess I have to bounce from this fragment. D team: Force Quit I guess with the knowledge that all teams are awake at different times, C team already opened the Force Quit box, and D team must now put in the brooch and birdcage. I haven't had to look up how to solve puzzles more than 2-3 times in the game, but I actually had to look up that they needed me to make birdcage into two words. It just occurred to me that some of the dialogs between Phi and Sigma in VLR and earlier in this game are super creepy when you know they are father and daughter. That being said, how would they know that Phi is their daughter? Sigma named Phi after, well, Phi and sent her to 1904. What reason would he have to believe that this Phi is his Phi? The brooch could have just been handed down from person to person if this Phi is actually like the great granddaughter of original Phi. --- KCF can't actually be a real person but he is - greengravy http://i.imgur.com/VfpY7tg.jpg |
