first sealed went ok, but 2 of my rares were the w/u flashback spell which is maybe the worst rare in the entire set

then I just started my first draft and the rare in my first pack was that same spell again

i cant escape it

They can throw Snapcaster into another Masters set whenever, Delvers reprint opportunities are comparatively limited. Its a good choice here. (not that its really related to snapcaster being reprinted or not, they could have done both... or they could still do it in Crimson Vow potentially)

ha ha Im so happy theyre doing Kamigawa again

when I was like thirteen I got two booster boxes of Kamigawa cards (two different sets, dont remember which ones). I didnt know anything about the metagame, so I had no idea they were supposed to be bad.

then coincidentally I stopped playing for like a decade within like a year of that and missed out on Ravnica.
if only I had waited a year to buy booster boxes, I would have had a million shock lands instead of a bunch of junk ass Kami.

anyway, I made a rat ninja deck back then and loved it, so I am excited for more rat ninjas

ok yeah, I couldnt quite tell if non-fried calamari was being eaten in America at the time or not. I saw something about an attempt to push squid as a food option here in the 70s that made me think it would be very uncommon in the 40s, but I guess he could still know the word anyway.

one of the like five Amonkhet drafts I did recently was a ramp deck that went pretty well. it had Sandwurm Convergence, but I dont think I actually got to play it more than like once.
I also had a couple of the actual Sandwurm creature card with cycling which were much more relevant to my wins.

yeah, I definitely have moments where I feel like I am telling the game to do a thing but the little delay means I get interrupted by a hit or something

often its an issue with trying to start scoring a goal. there will be a moment where its not happening and Im not sure if I screwed up or not and then sometimes Ill press X again and it actually was happening, so now Ive screwed up the thing that wasnt actually screwed up?

Yeah I think Polka Dot Man's death really exemplified my problem with the movie. The movie just doesn't *like* any of its characters, which makes it hard for me to like them. Oh, you thought this person was funny and entertaining? Well fuck them and fuck you too, they're gonna get torn to pieces for laughs.

See, this is what I was feeling while watching it, but then after finishing it I dont think this is really the case. The intro sets up an expectation of oh no, anyone could die any time! but then no one else actually dies for like an hour and a half. Aside from Polka Dot Man, the actual main characters of the movie either make it out alive or die in a not jokey, meaningful altercation (Flagg, sort of Peacemaker but then not really). Even PDM got to survive just long enough to complete his character arc.
I think the movie likes its main group just fine, it just tricks you at the start with a bunch of joke cameo deaths.

To be fair, we don't say "Marionics" or "Dragon Fantasies" or anything like that.

There were a lot of other platformers and JRPGs contemporary to Mario or FF in a way that there kind of wasnt for Metroid/Castlevania. We didnt really need a word for Metroidvania until indie games got more mainstream and suddenly there were a million games like Metroid.

I think they spend a little less time setting up the concept of the Suicide Squad, and they definitely expect you to know who Harley is already, but theres only like four returning characters and absolutely no reference to the events of the previous movie or characters from it that dont appear in this one.

Heres all the backstory you wont get:
Harley Quinn: is Harley Quinn

Captain Boomerang: criminal, Australian, throws boomerangs. He was on the team in the last movie so he and Harley are friends.

Rick Flagg: army guy, not a criminal, also on the last team so Harley also thinks hes her friend

Amanda Waller: organizes the whole thing, has basically no moral code, just cares about getting the mission completed

Im a little over halfway through and I like it but also its stressing me out because even when theres like a quiet conversation Im expecting someones head to explode or something

like bloodsport tells ratcatcher that hes going to get her out alive and I was just thinking shes about to get immediately sniped because it would be ironic...
and then that doesnt happen, which is good, but the anticipation of that kind of stuff is maybe damaging my ability to just enjoy the scenes that arent about people getting murdered

I bought I think $20 of currency because you get a 1 time double bonus, but I havent spent all of it yet. There isnt much worth buying at this point.
I bought Garchomp, but really I have enough playable Pokmon just from the various launch bonuses and playing the game and the cosmetic stuff mostly isnt very interesting to me. They dont even have a costume for every playable Pokmon yet.

Im kinda shocked that they dont sell shiny versions of everyone, that seems like easy money. Black Charizard alone would make them a ton of cash.

I would guess Cramorant isnt used so much because people dont have him yet. Theres no quick access to it, and its not the kind of thing people would spend their first bunch of coins on generally.

at least for Tennis, the content is too minor to justify coming back to the game for it. Like yeah, I would have enjoyed playing as this character, but one new character doesnt give you much to do.

Id prefer a larger dump of stuff all at once instead of frequent little bits , so its like oh hey, heres a bunch of stuff to check out.

I wouldnt even think of voting for SFII as a proxy for Turbo or whatever... its all just different versions of the same thing in my mind. Id always be voting based on the best version of the game even if its legally in the bracket as the basic one.

Blastoise is for sure next, and Clefable was in some pre-release screenshots or something, so itll probably show up too, but after that I think/hope theyll give Gen 1 a bit of a rest.

they gotta get some more non-Gen 1 starters in here. Decidiueye, Empoleon, maybe Blaziken if they dont feel like that would be too many fire types who like to kick...

yeah Im not really interested in Venom 2 because I wasnt interested in Venom 1 because Im just against the character existing without Spider-Man

just watched Black Widow and actually really enjoyed watching Black Widow. I had some issues with it, but there was some really good action stuff and I liked the new characters.

The one competitive build I saw for him had Cross Chop and not Close Combat, so maybe this nerfs the top Machamps but buffs lesser Machamps?
