Welp a factory reset didn't do anything, it won't even load up GTA, got the Cowabunga Collection to load, played about 15 minutes, had it freeze for a moment while saving the game then in the final battle against Super Shredder it just crashes and went to the dashboard.

Is there a resale market for consoles with bad hard drives? I don't just want to throw it away because I'm sure someone can fix it.

I seen one or two back in 2013.

So after a factory reset and reinstalling GTA V/Online and a few others it immediately started GTA up without hesitation.

But I've got the feeling it's only a temporary fix

I had 2 different 360's one got done in by the RROD. the last one, the model S lasted for a long time.

Post 2, also glad to see you came back to CE.

No matter how many times I've played and beaten New Vegas, I never get bored of it.

I have an Xbox One S as well. Still going well (for now) after 5ish years. The only games it has had a problem with are Forza Horizon 4 and 5. In both cases the game started freezing at certain points and couldn't progress further without it crashing.

GTA V would stutter/freeze for a moment occasionally so it could have been related the console going to shit.

Should have known something was up when WWE 2k24 would straight up freeze during a match for like 15 seconds, that started happening last week.

Past few days it started taking a long time to open up games and apps.

I'm not surprised though.

I fixed a PS2 I had that had a messed up eye, that was surprisingly easy and didn't require any real special tools.

Longer than I expected it to last.

should have known weeks ago it's days were numbered when I got the Green Screen of Death followed but a solid black screen that took multiple hard resets and let it sit for about an hour to fix (or so I thought).

Then two days ago the audio and video started stuttering something fierce

Last week it wanted to get overly hot but not give the warning its getting too hot or shut down.

Games taking forever to load then tonight was it, it didn't want to load anything at all.

Tried to do a manual offline update but even that didn't work so it was a factory reset, got signed back in and a 8gb took 30 minutes to install.

It's done for but thankfully my sister has an Xbox One X she's giving me until I can get a series x.

After 4 years it crapped out on me, I will say I got my moneys worth but i was hoping it would hold on for at least 6 more months.

Ohio,Nebraska,Iowa and Oklahoma have been getting battered with Tornadoes a lot already.

I haven't had a Tornado warning yet, just 2 watches that went on til about midnight.

Every Tornado warned storm seems to either fizzle out or completely misses the part of Ohio I'm in.

Tornadoes fascinate me but they're really fucking scary, closest one to me somewhat recently was only 3 miles south of me.

The thought of a nocturnal Tornado scares the shit out of me, If there's severe weather until really late/early the next day I don't sleep until we're given the all clear because I'm afraid if I even shut my eyes for a moment something is gonna happen.

That's just one of the reasons I've always wanted to visit there, that and to see all the neat sites there is in Tokyo.

I can imagine it's not cheap to stay a few nights or even a round trip flight so I doubt I will ever actually go.

in all honesty, an easy mode would probably have been better at preserving the game experience for the people who want a difficult game.

compare to souls-adjacent games that don't have an easy mode like elden ring, AC6, lies of P, etc. which launched with difficult bosses but received nerfs in patches. maybe if there was an easy mode they could have quarantined the changes to there

I kinda see the reboot series as an alternate universe to the original series.

You could play on normal and not have your experience altered. Does it really matter to you how others play a game?

The devs would have been forced to alter the game so it's easier for people who refused to get better at it.

There's no need for an easy mode in Dark Souls,people begging for it should either spend time getting good at it or stop bitching and stop playing it.

They want an easy mode, go play minecraft or some shit.

Casuals usually have the shittiest opinions on what needs changed in game and its mainly to suit them.

Nah, the casuals are the ones willing to pay for a edge/leg up because they don't want to spend the time grinding for whatever they want.

I'm not the hardcore gamer type but also not a casual because while I do game quite a bit, it's not as much as what a hardcore gamer would do or as little as a casual would do.

Devs need to listen to both types of gamers when it comes to balancing,nerfs,buffs,etc instead of catering to one side or the other.
