however this season finishes, maryanne is a treasure

tori sucks but she was pretty much put in a no-win situation and i can't blame her for feeling awkward about absolutely needing to try to save herself

but man, i loved everything about drea tonight and thought she kicked ass in how she handled every part of what happened. maybe the blindside would have been good drama, but i think we're in for a hell of a finish with who's left

lydia did not get voted out for saying jonathan's name to omar; he was looking for any excuse to protect his allies and used her words to throw her under the bus (and he said this in his confessional in the episode!)

and i don't blame him. he's the big winner of the night, lydia was the person he would be losing the least for getting out, and he had the gumption to make it happen. whether it was good for hai or mike or others, not so certain

she's also just a dumbass antivaxxer irl who thinks far too much of herself and has long since ceased to be entertaining on the show

i dunno, i was willing to buy into the angelina-esque trainwreck upside at first but she's on my nerves every time she's on the screen now

tori sucks but so does this board's taste so no surprises there

i will deeply miss lydia and i'm pretty pissed off in general at this one

I feel terrible for Jenny but, look, I am stanning Lydia hard this season and I need her to stick around. Hai was absolutely right about everything though and through some luck and a lot of really really REALLY good hard reads just absolutely blew apart the other alliance.

this was a much better episode than the premiere, oddly enough, despite being only an hour long. felt like there was more clarity about tribe dynamics and i feel like i pretty much know everyone so far. found myself liking some people i didn't in the premiere and vice versa, which is a good thing

i still love lydia and hope she lasts a long time though. her twitter has me dying atm

mixed feelings about the premiere, but i love lydia and i am hoping for her to go very far

i know ppl are complaining about the "under-edit" but i think:

1. erika's story was clearly about her coming on strong as the game progressed and that was properly sold to us
2. by the end it was very clear she was knowledgable of what she was doing and was a clear favorite to win once ricard was booted (and that's how it was from the cast, as well)
3. i'm actually pleased that the "winner's edit" wasn't just a shoo-in from the start. variation in editing styles and stories is a good thing for the predictability of the show imo

i really think more of the problem is that "why xander wasn't ever going to win" was just not at all clear to viewers who saw a ton of him dodging votes and making moves

but anyway the season was good, i am just terrified of production learning all the most wrong things from what made it actually great.
42 is not likely to be both as lucky and amazingly-casted as 41 to get away with the same dumb bullshit and i am nervously awaiting how it's going to go.
