Spoilers: Phil wins in the end.

This is honestly a misconception, it's more like Phil hasn't lost yet. But Phil hasn't been winning at all:

-Lost all his friends
-Only has contact with his parents as far as family goes
-Is so fucking paranoid that he rarely leaves the house
-Hermit lifestyle
-Is closing on 40, looks like 50
-Bad with finances
-Literally bankrupt
-No back-up plan
-Loveless/sexless marriage
-No marketable skills
-Useless degree
-No enjoyment from his job
-No prospects

I mean, if everything goes tits up, and it will eventually, Phil can't find any jobs other than burger flipping. He may believe that he can find a job at Boeing (and I think he truly believes this), but the last decade he hasn't garnered any relevant job experience and he would fucking fail a background check, and you better believe there will be one, since Boeing has a military contract.

He has a degree which he hasn't done anything relevant since he left school.

His age is going to be a huge detriment, and anything just googling Phil Burnell will find so much shit on him that they will likely refrain from hiring him. In an unlikely case he does get hired, I don't expect it to last, because I am going to assume (and I may be wrong) that working with Phil is going to be an absolute nightmare.

Phil's best bet is that IF he wants to have any prospects beyond streaming till that ship sinks, is start now. Get homeschooled, get a new degree, socialize and build a network. Don't wait till it's too late. Start being pro-active.

I don't wish ill on Phil. But I don't have any sympathy for him either. Everything negative that happens to him, comes from his own action or inaction. He is not perparing for the future, he has no plan B. He pisses on those he relies on to stay afloat and he has no safety net.

Phil is heading towards a major cliff, maybe he isn't going all that fast, but he is driving straight ahead and he is making no attempt to avoid the disaster that is about to come. It happened again btw, Phil was fishing for people what to do for the 250 streak, and it had to be special. But unless it was DSP tries it, everything got shot down. People even suggested multiplayer with his viewers, but Phil even shot that down, saying that he isn't playing any multiplayer games right now. And surmised that people thus wanted to see DSP tries it.

It's like discussed before, when Phil asks you a question, only the answer he wants to hear is the right one. People had tons of good suggestions which didn't involve him pushing food into his face, even though people complained about it during the previous streak and even though people are throwing him suggestions (and not even troll suggestions, actual good suggestions), he is decided that what the "people want" is him stuffing his face with greasy garbage.

It bears repeating, but Phil doesn't give a shit about his viewers, or about improving his product. Even when people vote for a viewers choice gameplay stream, they can still vote wrong. Ideally, Phil would just only do a "pre-stream" literally do nothing while he talks (which he loves, hearing the sound of his own voice) and get paid to do so, but even he realize that in order to get something, you need to give something in return. Problem is however that he does the absolute bare minimum. Other than going to direct capture, he hasn't changed ANYTHING in the last decade. His "formula" is exactly the same now as it was then: Play games in the worst way possible, bitch and moan about everything and expect to get paid for it. Problem is, that he DOES get paid for it. So as long as it works, why change it?

Giving a little more though, I think this might also be a huge problem, but Phil is not used to hearing no. I don't even think his mom told him no often, if at all. This is why Phil doesn't respond to critcism well or when people suggest something he doesn't want them to suggest. It's all a disgusting form of manipulation, you are free to choose as long as you choose what Phil wants you to choose.

In the past Phil once (probably jokingly, but I am not so sure anymore) said that his stream is not a place to go stand on your soap box, and that this is the United States of Phil. Ironicaly, this is the truth and I believe he actually might have meant that.

No, it's still going, but he had to go overtime and constantly whine about it potentially ending in order to manipulate his whales into hitting the tip goal. There is nothing organic or fun about the streak. It's just Phil complaining that the streak is in danger until someone tosses $30 at him.

He slowed the gameplay down to a crawl, people in his chat were rightfully complaining Phil was stalling. He kept saying that he didn't care if the streak would end, yet wouldn't stop talking about it. Even making plans for his next Stream to adress the ending of the streak and where to go from there.

Then, magically, a couple of whales showed up, pushed Phil to 160 dollars give or take and the vest streak was saved.

He also was instructing (yes, literally instructing) his viewers to attend his late streams, even though they might not like the game he is playing then in order to the donations he so desperatly craves. He told them to come to the late streams and contribute then.

I don't see the streak ending anytime soon, but his greed is so fucking obvious it's not even funny anymore.

Phil is still getting upset over people bringing up the WWE Gacha game and the money he alllegedly sunk in to it. Claiming that the evidence in KF is not evidence at all.

He refuses to show his phone and his account, because it could "harm his family", yet has not trouble showing emails about the DMCA thing .

Says he didn't hide/lie about anything on his bankruptcy filing, but claims 5k as business expenses INCLUDING micro-transactions without specifying what that money is actually spent on.

To put it in perspective: Phil could buy a 2.000 dollar high end gaming PC, a good quality 1.000 laptop for streaming, pre-order both the X1X and PS5 for 1.000 dollars (assumig they will both cost 500), but a decent new webcam and mic for like 500 dollars and spend the rest on the games he needs to play. Every. Single . Month.

So unless that 5k is actually is reinvested (which it is not, given the fact that he literally has people butly stuff for him), it is safe to assume that money is going elsewhere. Now, I wouldn't even know where to spend 5k a month on, but whaling for a Gacha doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility here.

In it there was a section about some sort of subscribers being able to do a raffle for a game he plays, so this isn't a new thing. Oh god yes I remember that. Phil actually believes that reading what is on screen is voice acting.

Yesterday he also got baited about "busting his ass". He literally compared streaming to construction work, but your employer then decides not to give you money, because that is what it is like to be a streamer.

And yes, streamers are 100% dependant on the kindness of strangers. But calling it a job is a stretch, and comparing it actual physical labour that is even dangerous is a bad take, even for Phil.

He won't be playing it, because he already is playing several complex/long games, so he doesn't have room to play it. As such, he bareted his fans for picking a game that he can't play.

Also, for those who have played the gamez you know that this game is hard. And not just the combat, picking the wrong dialogue option can ruin a quest. The game doesn't hold your hand at all, it expects you to figure out things at all.

If Phil knows this, that would also be a possible reason to not play the game.

Also, Phil has explained why he has 2 internet lines. See, the one he uses for his "business" is 100% tax deductable (no idea if it is true), so he only has to pay for the other line.

So he'd rather pay 100% for a line he doesn't need, than get just one line and have to pay 50% for that, if he splits it between business and non-business usage.

This I don't get either, when Leanna was around he was practically slobbering over boobs, acting like a 12 year old would. A possible theory would be that Leanna leaving him was something he would not have dared predict, and actaully hurt him really badly (the worst thing you can do to a narcissist is actually break with them). So it is more likely that Phil himself is choosing to walk on eggshells, rather than Kat is forcing him to act the way he does.

Kat seems way too passive to actually tell Phil what to do. And if it is true, both what people KF discovered and Kat's sister stepping forward, she might be on the spectrum. On top of that, Kat and Phil could not have less chemistry if they tried. My guess is that at best they are roommates. Phil has had enough slips of the tongue to know that he sees Kat as his mom/maid. They live seperate lives, have no sex, Phil feels the constant need to state that he has a wife and his happily married.

So yeah, I am 100% convinced Phil is doing this to himself, and Leanna is the first and only person that really hurt him.

Whatever the reason, it points to their relationship being unhealthy to the point that they should be seeking help.

Yeah, Phil is borderline paranoid. Not sure where that comes from. Narcissist do have a certain persecution complex, where they believe others are jealous of them and want to sabotage them, but Phil is in overdrive. Phil barely has a relationship to speak of. Leanna was the only one actively seeking out a relationship with Phil, but she broke with him.

And everything we've seen and heard about Phil proves that every relationship he ever had turned toxic, because of him. He broke with all his friends, burned all those bridges, and even with family members. He only calls his mom once a week, and refused to call her on Mother's day, because then he wouldn't have anything to talk about next Tuesday. He is the kind of person that lets his parents fly across country, to help him paint his house. He marries in their backyard and lets his mom pay his taxes.

If you are of no use to Phil, you get thrown under the bus. Doesn't matter if you are his friend, a family member or one of his loyal viewers. That is how toxic this guy is. He thrives on drama.

In his mind, his viewers have no right to expect anything from him. They're just supposed to show up, open their wallets, and not complain too much about his garbage content or else he'll ban them.

He doesn't want more viewers because that can both disrupt his narrative and thus lower his income. Even if Phil does viewers choice, there is almost always a bullshit reason not to play the most voted game due to "fake voting" or some shit.

He also never plays with parties, too afraid someone will slip through and trash Phil. Hell, he was even afraid to talk back to an 11 year ols girl. He first had to mute everything before he could insult her.

He recently also said not to accept packages/gifts delivered too him, unless discussed in advance.

As much he is a piece of shit, due to his paranoia, his world is so incredible small. He also has nothing or no one to fall back on, thanks to his parasitic nature.

He may have fans, he may have a wife. But the truth is, he is all alone.

Drama surrounding Phil is a huge reason, probably the biggest reason when it comes to Phil and viewership. A close second would be how godawul he is at games while insisting he isn't the one fucking up, rather it is the game's fault. Games don't respond to button presses, unfair enemies and even the fucking graphics are a complaint (in DMCV he said the game looked too good, that caused him to mess up).

No one, except his die hard fans (which apparantly have all kinds of mental issues) watch Phil because he is such a great streamer. He shits on the people giving him money, and those very same people need to continuesly explain Phil how to play games, where he needs to go or what he needs to do. Personally I find it hilarious how bad he is at games, and acts like the game is a sentient being that somehow can decide to fuck Phil over.

But I agree with your sentiment, there are a lot of good streamers that don't get noticed that deserve to, but at least they do it from a place of passion, rather than greed as Phil does.

If it is a joke, it's actually kind of funny, and it's the kind of self-deprecating humor that would go a long way towards making him almost likable. But it's hard to tell, and it's just as likely that he thinks this makes him look good. At any rate, that picture seems like a better reward for his viewers than the last "vestival."

I want to ask a question, because I agree with this statement.

Do you think it's too late for Phil to change? And I don't mean just from a "moral" point of view. Lets say tomorrow, Phil becomes self-aware. He laughs at his own incompetence, embraces the memes, can banter. You know, just becomes a good guy?

I think that will cause him to fade into obscurity to be honest. Sure his loyal fans will stick with him no matter what he does (has been proven time and again), but A LOT of people are there for the slow burn, the trainwreck. When Phil stops being "Phil" as we know him, taking himself way too serious, the waterfall of excuses when he fucks up, the anger, etc I personally would lose interest.

I am here indeed, because he is such a trainwreck, and a lot of others are too. I believe it is safe to assume that changing into a likeable person would actually hurt him more than it would help. You can't get a rise out of someone who laughs at themselves.

Ironically, and luckily, Phil is incapable of self-reflection and change causing him to stay "relevant" for the wrong reasons.

I honestly (and I don't mean this as an insult) believe Phil has very low to no sex drive.

I mean, on one of the last streams with Leanna before they broke up, she pratically threw herself at him, and he all but ignored her. And I recall her saying a few times on stream that she didn't get her needs met.

Couple this with the total and complete lack of chemistry and totall awkwardness the one or two times Kat appeared on screen/stream and given the fact that Phil sees her more than a maid, and I am a firm believer that they haven't consumated their marriage yet.

The pre-stream was.. something. He was practically masturbating (figuratively speaking) for 5 minutes going on and on how he is one of the most, if not the most prolific content creator. And like @LightningAce11 pointed out, he said how he was winning and how succesful he is this year, after literally being bankrupt.

The vest reveal came as no surprise, Phil is so devoid of creativity and tone deaf that he truly believes that his fans want him to have more vests. Even though the brown vest, which started this madness, is just a meme. Phil is going to drive this thing into the ground unless he dies first.

More and more cracks are showing up, hiting at a possible (and I do mean possibly) absence of Kat. Lots of comments from Phil hinting low key that she might be gone. How he has do to groceries on his own and things like that. Still, I wouldn't recommend looking deeper into this at this point, but there are subtle hints.

Speaking of "succes", Phil stated that for the first time this year he has been able to pay his bills while denying twice the money is going to mobile games. It would be beyond easy to show a screenshot to disprove everything. The excuse that it would endanger his "family" is beyond idiotic.

He also claimed that the federal governemnt hasn't contacted him about paying his bills from last year, due to the government shutting down due to COVID and is now waiting for them to contact him. While I am not really all that versed in taxes and shit in the US, but I HIGHLY doubt that if you still owe money from last year, even amid all this COVID bullshit the government/IRS is going to: "eh, it's fine".

We know, by Phil's own admission, that he put most if not all of his taxes on credit cards, and those debts got dismissed. So IF Phil is begging for tax money he is either full of shit, or in way too deep. But as usual, Phil is the most unrealiable story teller, so we'll probably never know which it is. But if it is the former, he'll just stick to his disgusting greed scamming shtick, because he knows it works.

He then started talking about future plans to improve his stream, and the first thing he mentioned was a new couch. He is such a scummy asshole. And it got worse, he kind of used the new couch as leverage for a greenscreen. The current greenscreen is unfortunatly too big to use. He then moved on to unboxing of games/consoles as part of why he is so succesful. He made a smooth transition to not being to afford the PS5/XSX for launch and dropped a few not very subtle hints asking people to pre-order it for him.

His plan for improving his stream consists of:

1. A new couch/seat, people need to give him money for that.
2. The Greenscreen.
3. People shouldn't just buy the new consoles for him, they should pre-order them.
4. A new webcam.

It then turns out he had a streamdeck in his possesion for a while. He hasn't revealed who donated it, because he didn't want to stir up drama. Eventually he will have to upgrade his PC (laying the foundation for people to give him money for that). Also suggesting people should mail him for donations so they can talk about it "behind the scenes".

Funnily enough, Phil has always shat on things like the greenscreen that could help him improve the quality of his stream and now he is all over it.

This is just prime scummy Phil, because he is just trying different avenues to squeeze more money out of his fans.

And then we got treated to him forcing a burger into his face while wearing a new vest, to which his chat had an underwhelming response. And the other reveal is a tier 2 reward, upsetting many fans. His greed knows no bounds.

And in the very same stream he retconned people being dissapointed by the vest reveal, only fake fans were dissapointed. See, his "real" fans wanted the 200 streak celebration to be like the 100 streak celebration and includes tiered rewards.This caused fake fans to be mad, and made the real fans sad because they want to have a good time. Phil tollerates the fake fans because he doesn't want to disrupt the stream with banning and look bad because of it. They always complain though, they think Phil isn't aware of them (the fake fans), but he is. He knows them all and their sock accounts. He ends it by saying they are shitheads.

Two whales ended up donating 200 dollars in total. He revealed a red vest. Just like predicted. What a fucking asshole. He said he wanted a Marty McFly vest (so semantics it is then, just like Jasper, no one guess he was there for 9 months), which was more orange, but he ended up with the vest that was revealed, which was more red. But he never actually adressed why he lied about the red vest. He then proceeded to hype up the 250 vest goal with ANOTHER FUCKING VEST REVEAL.

It's Jasper all fucking over again, because it's not a "red vest" it's a "Marty McFly vest".

I keep wondering how many times he has to lie to his fans before they wake up, but it's never going to happen. The whole 200 vest streak was a complete dud and the tier 2 reveal was exactly what was predicted yet he lied about it.

Basically just Phil.

If Phil is to believed, trolls have costed him several sponsorship oppertunities and loss of income.

Of course it is easier to blame lower income on outside factors, as opposed to adjusting your life. Because the truth is, Phil's situation is not unqiue. Lots of people have loss of income and have to adjust accordingly. Lots of people have to cut back on spending and even downsize. The reason doesn't fucking matter. A lot of people get fucked over, much more than you'd like to think. The difference is, most people don't go walking on the streets antagonizing everyone they come across. They do something about it, even if they hate doing it.

And I could actually sympathize with Phil if he wasn't such a piece of shit. Yes, during the Youtube haydays he made probably double of what he now makes by abusing the algorithms by spamming his >10 minute videos.

And yes, Youtube has had the ad-apocalypse, but Phil is not the only one, and he doesn't have a contract with Youtube that explains how much he gets paid every month. And this brings me back to my previous point, this shit happens to millions of people every year, Phil is not special or exempt. He just flat out refuses to adjust his lifestyle to his adjusted income. We now know he just kept putting everything on creditcards, racking up a debt of 130.000 dollars on top of his income of 100k anually.

Phil isn't just bad with money. He literally spends it and what will be will be. If he has to file for bankruptcy and ruin his credit, that is fine, as long as he can keep his lavish lifestyle.

And this is why he rubs me the wrong way. During the recession, I lost my job and had been unemployed for 2.5 years. I had debts (nowhere fucking near Phil, I might add), but I didn't throw my hands up and cried poor. I worked my ass off when I had a job, making extra hours and shit, and after spending the BARE minimum on myself and my family (wife + kids) for 3 years, I had paid off the debt in full.

And I know I should probably take a step back, but this is why he pisses me off. I had to work my ass off to pay off my debts that were not my fault, but I didn't bitch about it. Phil just racks up debt and it gets excused. Fuck, I would love the money back that I saved up to pay everything off. But even so, I fucking solved everything myself, I didn't compromise myself, didn't lower myself to begging and didn't adopt a scorched earth policy.

And that is something we should all keep reminding ourselves off: most of us won't make the amount of money Phil does, but we aren't the person Phil is either. We still have our integrity, we don't lower ourselves, we don't beg, we don't thrive on drama nor are we toxic cesspools. We don't value relationships based on how much money we can extort from someone, nor do we throw them under the bus for it. We don't lie to our family and loved ones. We don't punch down on others, and shit on everyone who tries to help us out.

He denied that too, and when it was revealed that he indeed did have a cat, he still said no one guessed that he had it for 9 months, there for he wasn't lying.

I am going to laugh my ass off if it does turn out to be a red vest (which would display Phil's lazyness and total lack of creativity), but he will defend it and say people were wrong because the colour is crimson or some shit.

What is also extrenely important to note, is that while you are right about the escort saga, it pales compared to everything else. In 2018 he lied about his tax fundraisers, not only had he used the money he raised to fly Kat out several times and ultimately move her cross country, he still hasn't paid those taxes as per his bankruptcy filing.

He lied about having a cat for 9 months, after he got 2.000 dollars to reveal that. Lied about getting married. And those are just a couple of examples of the last 2 years. Don't forget the Project 7 scam, and how he fucked Howard and Rambo out of their money. Took patreon money for Super Mario Sunshine and then didn't play it.

It doesn't matter if Phil is telling the truth eventually, because getting there is a road filled with lies. Simple example: he has told the Wolverine toy story atleast 3 times now to my knowledge, and it has changed every single time. The problem is, that even if he is telling the truth, there is never a way to know for sure.

I tend to take everything with a huge grain of salt when it comes to Phil. And I have been wrong about things several times. Big fucking whoop.

But Phil does get messed with, and I honestly don't disagree with it. He has treated his fans like shit or worse and took money under false pretenses, it's only natural that someone would evetually be fed up with it and lash back out.

Does he deserve having his live ruined? No man does, but if you believe in karma like Phil does, nothing is going to happen to him he didn't deserve.

The whole DDoS thing is making him even more insufferable. Yes, he needs his internet to "work from home", but so do millions of other people thanks to COVID. But he thinks himself above those people, even though those people actually contribute to society. Millions of people our out of jobs, millions more have had to make adjustments to work from home. I've only started following DSP relatively recently, have any of his detractors tried false DMCA claims against him in the past? Being able to get his stream taken down twice in one weekend is pretty crazy, but I'm not a fan of breaking laws just to troll Phil.

I think it has happened a few times on his Youtube, but those were erronius DMCA strikes by Youtube's automated system. Phil then set all his videos to private and that caused the search algorithm to count the views all those videos had as lost.

While I agree not to directly interfere with Phil, if he just had shut the fuck up, that would have been the end of it. Instead, he had to puff up and pound his chest and openly taunt and threaten Superhound, so he responded in kind.

Basically, the whole thing is just two idiots bashing heads and we are all here to enjoy the shitshow. I don't wish ill in Phil and hope he wisens up, the whole thing is extremely fragile and should serve as a wake up call. He really should prepare a plan B.

Having said that I don't wish ill on Phil doesn't mean I sypmathize with him though. If the whole thing goes tits up anf his life falls to shambles it'll be his own fucking fault because he can't 5 seconds infront of his face.

Yes and no. The first takedown was bullshit, I absolutely agree with that. But Phil then made it a point during his "tough guy" act to threaten and taunt Superhound several times (the guy who issued the DMCA takedown), and this is Superhound striking back. In an unfair but expected way.

Basically it's just 2 children flinging mud at eachother, it's amusing as fuck. Phil also stated that Twitch is dead to him, but we all know that wont last.

Exactly, some of you really are no better than DSP. I'm also on his side here, for once. He's not a controversial streamer, he's just someone unhealthy people place way too much personal investment into watching and hoping he fails. Once upon a time he was controversial, sure, but it never ceases to amaze me how people here will twist his words. This didn't have anything to do with luck, surviving a suspension. So far the most likely causr is an automated DMCA strike anf it was resolved aswell.

What does happen during these suspensions, is unhinged Phil, and it is glorious. It proves once again that he has no plan B if everything goes tits ip. He is so fucking nervous and shakes harder than Michael J Fox.

We all know that if Twitch is over tomorrow, regarldess of the reason, Phil is over. He might migrate to Youtube, and some of his loyal followers might migrate with him, but the unmoderated chat during his Youtube stream was a beautiful peek into how disliked Phil is. Unfiletered bile. That is the only way I can describe it.

But, just like previous times, Phil will continue just like he has, despite the fragility of it all. He won't learn anything from this, he won't come up with a plan B. As long ad the money comes in and he can stupidly spend it, everything is fine.

What did seem, all the emotes, badges etc apear to be gone. Knowing Phil, he probably doesn't have any back-up.

He's being sustained by a handful of people. I would love to know the exact percentages, but if I had to guess, I'd say that less than a dozen people account for well over half of his annual income.

That's what makes it even crazier.

Phil makes more money on way less viewers than channels larger than him do. He averages 200-300 viewers on average. And sure the troll tips add up, but by no means are they the majority of his income. If you take the 100k he clears anually, that means on an average of 250 viewers pay 400 dollars per year. But it gets even worse, because the majority of his income, comes from a select few whales. There are people who are spending thousands of dollars (PlanetJeff for example) on Phil anually.

I am not going to try to figure out why people keep giving Phil such large amounts of money while there are literally so many other and better ways to spend money. But it does highlight a huge potential danger, if one or two whales where to fall away, it would cause a huge gap in Phil's income, and he has no back-up plan to fill in that gap

Sorry for the double post.

Something weird happened, and I cannot help but wonder. But, with about 30 minutes left during the night stream, Phil was sitting at 25 dollars in tips. He then went to refill his water and he got a tip of 30 dollars.

Then with just 15 minutes left in the stream he received 2 nearly identical tips of 43 and 45 dollars. Phil thanked them and made it a point that neither of the tippers were regulars.

This kind of fits the idea that myself and some others here have that he indeed contacts his whales directly in some sort of way in order to get the money he needs. Because there is no way that 2 new people just out of no where tip the same amount to make him reach the tip goal.

Now I admit this is al very speculative, but it is weird as fuck that he goes to refill water and the tips roll in. Especially that 2 "non regulars" tip the exact amount that he still needed to hit the goal. But the reason why this is so typical to me, is that Phil, unprovoked, made it a point to let everyone know the tips weren't from regulars.

It's kind of like when a liar says "I am being honest". Phil now says he didn't contact anyone, which makes me believe all the more he did. It's the Barbra Streissand effect in all it's glory. I cannot prove anything, nor is that my intent, like I said, this is pure speculation.

But there is no denying this is weird as fuck, and I am more inclined to believe that Phil can and does contact his whales directly to tell them to step up.

Actually, given enough time I'd get better and might make some actual progress. I think it wouldn't be the worst that could happen, I'd just be stuck for a long fucking time, but eventually I might escape.

Oh absolutely, the only thing that truly matters to a narcissist is potential usefulness. The only thing they care about is how much they can get from that person, once the well dries up, they usually get thrown under the bus. Since Phil's parents still have usefulness to him, he won't kill off all contact. His mom gave him (assuming it is true of course) 4.000 dollars earlier this year after he got wed. Hell, he even had his parents come over to help him paint.
