Very very close to that is Mystery Begins, the best live action Scooby movie and my favorite live action character model for the pup. Idk what people think of this one because I hardly ever hear them talk about it :( Supernatural x Scooby was very funny and, again, NOBODY talks about it. Mead posted... Imagine going from a dog who can talk, to a beast who will end the world and kill everyone, to the descendant of Alex the Greats dog and the key to the underworld. I dont think Scoob (the most recent movie and the first in the Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe!!!) is as bad as people seem to think. Its okay. Hardly the worst piece of Scooby media out there (thats the John Cena one, which I only kind of love unironically) The most boring movie is the goblin one. Scare School is my favorite and it has nothing to do with objective quality. No, my answer wont change. I never read the shitty modern reboot comic but I WANT to so bad! I think about it all the time. --- |

I can actually excuse it more when it's artwork and sprites (and theres more room for imagination). When I have to watch my dudes stand like five feet away from the bad guy in the middle of the village street and "spy" on him my eyes roll out of my skull. Have a 2D character portrait talking via VN style cutscenes is completely different than seeing a 3D model of a character literally stand feet apart from their enemy in front of a blurred, stretched background. It looks cheap and lazy and its the least interesting way to tell a story. Just because it was always like that, doesnt mean it should continue or even that those qualities will translate from a 2D environment to a muddy 3D world of blurry character models and textures that look like theyre from Skyrim. People will shit on the Xenoblade games for much less, but put up with Three Houses and even nominate it for GotY when it doesnt deserve that spot. same as persona 5 --- |

So while I was 19 and on spring break helping out these kids, I had a few 16 year old little theatre boys coming to me to open bottles of water for them, and then theyd just sit and talk to me while I handled a circular saw or whatever, and they had NO idea what that was, but god damn they wanted nothing but to talk to me and ask me if I saw them dance on stage. I treated them like every other one of my old students. --- |

The problem wasnt the world building. The problem was bad/lazy writing and uninteresting characters. Lots of series do the separate stories from across the world, simultaneously thing, and many of them do it better. Trails isnt impressive because it does in 7+ games what a good writer can do in much much much less text and expository info. --- |

I feel having this narrative laid out to us with hours and hours of characters standing at each other, expositing info instead of jjst... showing us... makes the game feel weak. its also UGLY!
