I don't think the pool itself needs to be sheltered, but it'd be nice to have some shelter-like nearby instead of having to immediately go back inside the house. That's less about the pool and more about having a patio or porch set-up outside.

I would personally discuss those options with a bank lender, not a pool contracting company who may jump at the chance if they think they have a blank check in front of them. It may even be a non-starter conversation with a contractor right now if you don't have your project finances set up.

But at least you do have a sense of the budget for your project. If a contractor high-balls you then get more quotes. If they low-ball you (like $10-20k), then it's probably too good to be true.

Big momma chiming in! Would you try to get a personal loan or a HELOC? Are you planning to finance the majority of the project? If the costs end up going over (and we know they will) that could be shitty circumstances to have wrapped up in a loan.

Sorry just been researching to prepare for my own home renovation projects and am uncomfortable of being leveraged for $50,000+ in a loan that isn't a mortgage.

Yeah it's been a proper shit show. First I barely made it out of Chicago on the first leg of the trip, but that was legit because of the approaching snow storm.

Then I saw how many flights they were canceling earlier this week and booked a backup flight with United Airlines just in case...but I kept checking FlightAware and it looked like my flight home was one of the very few still running as normal.

I'm sitting on one of the few Southwest flights that hasn't been canceled in the last week
