It's weird how despite anime fanboys praising Japan's reverence of voice actors, that Japanese games consistently have the absolute worst voice overs in gaming.

English dubs are generally low budget and halfbaked because those same localized Japanese games you refer to aren't big hits in the West. That's why you flip the switch to listen to Japanese audio, they give a damn about their voice acting and VAs respect their roles.

By engaging them in discussion, you humanize yourself, and they'll look beyond color/sexuality/whatever.

There's reason why Martin Luther King Jr. is nationally celebrated every year and not Malcolm X. There's a reason why MLK Jr. was instructed to relinquish all of his guns in his house to portray the image of a peaceful protester. The rights we have now, their acquisition was through understanding, not threatening.

My friends and I went to this one restaurant after basically avoiding this one area where we live for the longest while. And we decided to order this crab and spinach artichoke appetizer where they made the typical dip with real crab and stuffed it into a french bread, baked it, and drizzled warm ranch on it. We each took one bite out of that, it was like we warped into Soma's garden right next to a beach.

I do agree that mature discussion could help.

I know people who look at 2 men walking together as an item and think "that's disturbing" and even when of their closest friends is gay. And there are people who are conservative in thinking marriage must be between a man and a woman. This is why I say it goes both ways, just like how you may be disturbed by someone saying what OP's worker said. You're both entitled to your feelings.

And just because you don't agree with something doesn't mean you can't accept the outcome.

My older brother is a high functioning autistic. Obviously you can't diagnose this during pregnancy, but I couldn't say what my choice would be if I knew my unborn kid had Down Syndrome. Yes, it makes your lives more difficult, but on the other hand, these types of difficulties end up giving you stories and a life you wouldn't change. These types of challenges, like being able to accommodate the disabled, I feel society needs to undergo to progress further.
