It would be a photo op either way if they stood in line and he handed out MREs or did this. As someone who currently lives in the VI and had to stand in line for MREs, as nice of a gesture it would be for either the governor or the goddamned president of the US to be in line handing out MREs, I'd rather leave it to the military personnel to do the distribution. Lines are long, it's bloody hot, and 6 PM, when our curfew starts, comes quick. They have to be forced into a situation where they're drowning in desperation and grasping at a moment's worth of security the first opportunity. That's when their morals are tested. In respect to the topic, I already have fleeting dreams- plans to become a billionaire and I'm an incredibly prideful person. I want to be proud of how I achieved my success. So that rules out most scenarios. The EC votes should be divvied by proportion of the popular vote in each state. That way, the East Coast and West Coast don't totally dominate the vote and the smaller states still have a say as to who should represent the country. And the EC voters shouldn't be actual human being voters. The EC votes should be awarded on the spot of the declared won state. Winning 50% of the popular vote in X state allots you 50% of X state's electoral votes and that's it. --- |
