I'm rooting for Xander to win, but I don't think he had great relationship management.

The most likely thing I see happening is Ricard leaves at 5 because literally everyone will target him and Xander has an idol. Of the remaining four, I think it's Erika > Deshawn/Xander > Heather in terms of who is most likely to get votes.

Deshawn would have been the frontrunner until his truth kamikaze, and like I said, I think Xander may have alienated what should have been shoo-in jury votes with Tiffany and Evvie. Erika's end game has been quietly gaining a lot of traction, and I think people will respect that she's been the decisionmaker essentially since mid-merge. And obviously no one is voting for Heather.

So I think Erika is our most likely winner here.

Liana asking Xander for his idol was one of the funniest moments of the season. It's like she heard how Shan played JD in pre-merge and tried to do it herself, just without any of the social awareness.

It's kinda weird. Despite the episode mostly existing to characterize Sylvie, I feel like I barely learned anything about her. It might just be Hiddlestoon dominating the screen but I feel like Loki's character got developed more than hers.

There's still a possibility there's some twist with her going on so I'll reserve judgement for now because surely they are saving the juiciest and most interesting parts for later.

As someone with only surface level knowledge of Thor comics and characters, it's pretty obvious to me what the twist regarding Sylvie will be. Look up Enchantress.

What and Make Happy are two of my favorite specials ever, but I don't particularly love this one. It kind of felt like Make Happy 2.0: Pandemic edition in that it felt like he retread a lot of the same ground. I might have to watch it again to cement my opinion, but I'm not particularly excited to return to it.

No matter which way you cut it, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream era is among the most successful in the history of pop music and the Billboard chart. She also had hits before and after that album with I Kissed a Girl, Roar and Dark Horse.

In my opinion her music quickly degraded in quality after Dark Horse, which lost the interest of the general public. On top of that, the general public's interest in music changed drastically from the early 2010s pop girl era to the Billie Eilish/Post Malone/whatever era we have now. It would have been impossible for Katy (or Gaga, or Rihanna, or almost any other artist from that era not named Justin or Taylor) to stay as relevant as she was without changing her sound.

At the end of the day, I don't think she had a massive dedicated fan base that made her successful - she just tapped into exactly what the public wanted at the right time and was able to absolutely dominate for 2 or 3 years because of it. She has nothing to prove anymore, because she's already proved it.

Watched this last night and enjoyed it a lot more than the theatrical version. Definitely Snyder's best DCEU entry and probably the best in the series overall, though it's far from perfect. The story is still super weak, and it still suffers from having only given 2/6 of its heroes standalone movies before it was released (technically three now since Aquaman came out).

Seeing all these easter eggs and teases for future movies I kept thinking - man, it would be so cool if we had a good universe that could tell these stories properly. They jumped the gun in an attempt to keep up with Marvel, and it ended up being their downfall. At least Snyder can go out on a high note.

Most Improved goes to Cyborg. It felt like a brand new character from the other version. Would have loved to learn more about him, but it sounds like Ray Fisher is done with the role.

Loved the backstory we got on these two characters, especially Sam who really needs character development if he's going to fill Steve's role in the franchise. Definitely has a Winter Soldier feel to it.

you know what i'm amending my list

13 - Cook Islands
15 - China
18 - Tocantins
28 - Cagayan

if after watching any of them, you like enough to watch the other seasons, you'll do that on your own but i think for newer viewers these are good to potentially get you hooked. i don't know why i left out Tocantin at first.

This is the perfect list of standalone seasons for a newer watcher.

She wouldn't have even been in that situation if she didn't do something bad and/or evil in the first place, and messing with the Darkhold definitely falls under that. You can't commend her on an understandable and necessary choice when the only reason that choice existed was because of malice.

I think youre probably right here, but the show didnt make it clear at all. Casual audiences wouldnt know any lore about the Darkhold and why it was bad Agatha was messing with it

I think the big problem with Evan Peters is that his initial reveal was huge, but it has zero luster now that we know he's just some dude.

It was very much a bait and switch and they knew it. Especially with all the speculation going.

mnkboy907 posted...
It seems to me that they maybe should've just kept Doctor Strange 2's subtitle secret for awhile longer. Knowing it features both Wanda and the multiverse just kinda set up some expectations for what might happen in WandaVision.

I mean obviously Evan Peters would still cause plenty of speculation, but maybe there'd be less of it or people would at least have felt less certain about it.

These are both well said and the reason his role in the show was such a letdown. By casting Peters and teasing that WV was a precursor to a movie about the multiverse, of course fans were going to speculate. It's Iron Man 3 Mandarin all over again, and it sucks they didn't learn their lesson the first time.

of all the things to criticize the show for, Evan Peters not being a multiverse Quiksilver is really low on the list. Come on guys.

I was really disappointed Darcy wasn't Beta Ray Bill in disguise, but you know, marvel gonna 'bad decisions'.

How is this even supposed to be an analogy? You do know Evan Peters literally played Quicksilver before, right?

I'm pretty mixed on the finale. I loved the stuff like Wanda lowering the Hex so people could escape, Hex Vision vs. White Vision, seeing Wiccan and Speed in battle and the new costume reveal. A lot of it was really well done.

But it's dragged down by awful storytelling decisions, like the Quicksliver/Ralph/Evan Peters thing. Man, what a bad creative decision to just write him out like that. I also felt that the SWORD side of the story amounted to very little considering how much screen time they had gotten before.

Overall though, I think time will be kind to this series and in retrospect, without the weight of fan theories that are impossible to live up to, it will hold up very well.

Since we're getting close to the end and there's only a 1 week (I think) gap after WandaVision ends before it starts, but how is everyone feeling about Falcon & Winter Soldier at this point? Hype? Not hype? Moderately hyped?

Middle hype. Im anticipating it to be much more standard MCU than Wandavision, probably much more focused on action than story. Ill probably watch as it airs, but Im not sure Ill be anticipating a new episode all week long like I am for WV.

Someone said previously that Hulk (and General Ross once he came back) went from being Hulk characters to being Avengers characters. I think you could make a similar argument for Thor being changed from a Thor character to a Guardians of the Galaxy character, with Ragnarok getting rid of his setting and most of his supporting cast, and Infinity War finishing off the rest.

This is the main reason I'm the co-lowest ranker for Ragnarok. It's not Thor 3, it's a Guardians movie with a less charming cast.

Other people in this topic have mostly said why I dislike it, but it completely disregards the first two movies and most of the supporting cast from them. His father dying, losing his powers, Asgard being destroyed, losing an eye etc. should impact Thor, but he just keeps zipping and quipping along. It wasn't until Infinity War and Endgame that he retroactively got character development by making him finally face the weight of the movie's events.

Also the Devil's Anus bit is the worst in MCU history imo.
