GTA V (PC)

Meh. San Andreas was better. GTA V was beautiful, but ultimately hollow, with more focus on realism than it zanier roots.

VVVVVV as well for me. I like the other indie game soundtracks, but they usually just have that 1 or 2 good song with the rest being "ok".

For a consistently good playlist, I recommend Dust Force. Also doubles as good work music.

Dishonored 2 (PC)

Finishing this game has been both satisfying and saddening. Had an SO at the time who loved this game to bits. We geeked out on the first game alot, and she got this one on launch (the collector's one, the one with Corvo's mask I think). I had a crappy graphics card at the time so I couldn't follow but now that I've finished it, I regret not being able to talk about it with anyone. Broke off and drifted a few months ago.

4 years, guys. She was my world.

Technobabylon (PC) is done. Been following this game for years ever since it was a single escape-room game demo. Finally finished it after a long hiatus.

Would recommend to anyone who's a fan of Beneath a Steel Sky, Gemini Rue, or just Cyberpunk / Techno Sci-fi in general.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue (PC)

Terrible spin-off. I'm sorry. The lure of being able to play as a Templar falls apart once you start playing and realize the stupidity of the plot, the mechanics being exactly like Black Flag (blatantly even), and the standard tropes you've come to expect out of an Ubisoft game.

Final Fight 3 (SNES)

This installment was alright.
I did like how improved the gameplay was over the first 2 games. The Super Meter was neat and it had an improved move set that you see in other beat em ups (Special Move Inputs, Dashing, Back Dashing, Jumping Dash Attacks, Reverse Grabs like from Streets of Rage). I didn't know it had multiple paths and it also had a nice feature where you can have a CPU controlled ally. I played through as Dean my first time.

I remember when I was in the 3rd grade, I was always mad that my uncle would pick Haggar because I wanted Haggar (we were about 5 years apart). And because gamefaqs didn't exist yet, I was tricked into paying my old schoolmate for a "cheat code" that lets me use the same character as player 1. I thought I was so sneaky, but then I ended up looking like an idiot on the character select screen instead.

Good times.

Nooooooooooo Wickle, damn you so much!

He does have a point. The only noteworthy song is the opening title.

I've listened to the OST countless times, it's beautiful from start to finish, Akira Yamaoka putting his signature touch on various genres to create a horror soundscape that's varied, haunting, poetic, and bittersweet. It kills me that people can't appreciate it.

Oh I appreciate it. Of course, I was also still in highschool at the time and was into some moody shit but since then my interests have changed. I also feel like the SH3 soundtrack was more or less trying to knock-off pieces from the SH2 soundtrack.

Thanks for nominating Tidus so I didn't have to.

I was going to go for Seymour, but at least he finally dies for real. Unlike my 2nd nom which is this guy:

3QjbbF2

Yhwach.

Now I honestly hate everything about Bleach, I could've nommed Tite Kubo for being the AssPull King all on his own, but he is just a means to an end. That and sometimes his Asspulls make sense. Sometimes. Okay mostly no but...

Yhwach is THE most broken villain I've ever seen. And I mean, while there are other similar godlike villains who are probably stronger and more obnoxious, Yhwach earns my nom for just being goddamn untouchable on every known level of power. There was really no conceivable way to beat him save for an asspull which is exactly what happened. His ability in itself is haxx: The ability to grant and remove powers AND to just "figure out" how to beat something after experiencing it once AND after killing the Spirit King gains the ability to see the future as if that power wasn't enough. Are you fucking kidding me?! He might as well be Tite Kubo himself as an author avatar.

If you've played the game, much less the remake you know what I'm talking about. She can drink her own milk to heal, has a 5x hitting Rollout, can charm male pokemon, and in the remake now has the ability to hit ghosts. Seriously, fuck that battle.

Finally decided to see what the fuss was all about and finished Syberia (PC). All I can say is UGH.

Game ain't bad. Story is 3/5 I guess. It's just really old so it's got some classic adventure game symptoms like useless screens, no way to skip long walking sequences, and stairs my god stairs. I could've finished it in 3 days were it not for the ludicrous amounts of backtracking and slow-ass pacing.

Really terrible pacing now that I think about it. The game suddenly decides to start the plot for realz only to end in a cliffhanger.

Time to start the sequel

I know I know I know, Jesse > Axel so sorry. I wish I also nommed the first one but I had to nom the 2nd one because he was very special to my getting into the Flash. I was actually surprised he got this far up because I can't think you'd be as generous.

One of the first stories that got me into comics was when Blacksmith's Rogues terrorized the Flash. That's when I met this guy who for all intents should not even be a Flash villain and yet he pervades this sense of zaniness. I'm blinded by nostalgia goggles, admittedly. I smile everytime I see this guy. I don't know; maybe its the way random shit falls out of him whenever he gets hit or just his cheesy one-lining lack of morals. He just spoke to me on alot of levels as a kid.

Btw: What do you personally think about all the other "trick" type villains who isn't the Joker or the Riddler: Prankster, Mysterio, Toy Man, fucking Cluemaster? Would they rank significantly lower?
