The original Godzilla is a serious movie about the horror of nuclear war and how humanity is ill-equipped to deal with the aftermath, the sequels (minus the reboots) are instead about a noble monster protecting people from other monster threats in goofy fights

Dynasty Warriors 1 is a fighting game

That one is a sort-of technicality though; in Japan the first one is called Sangoku Musou and then Dynasty Warriors 2, 3, etc were Shin Sangoku Musou, Shin Sangoku Musou 2, etc so the rest of the series is like a spinoff to the original fighting game, in a different genre.

The subject matter of First Blood is quite different to the rest of the Rambo series and our general pop culture perception of it

Best I can come up with is Transformice, which due to its format draws its strengths from issues that would be considered drawbacks of online play for most other 2D platformers

The joycons can use the gyro sensor to simulate a pointer, I know World of Goo does this and probably some other games too. Can't see any other way this would work

In the video you could see the partner battle game with the cards happening at the same time in a couple shots. So they combined both characters to the same screen but it looks like you actually control both of them, unlike the iOS version where theyre just a pin

You still lose something by not having to divide your attention between two separate play fields on different screens, but it wont be near as bad

It went from one of the worst games of the year and on the Game Boy Advance to like the second best Dragonball game ever, and one of the best RPG's on the Game Boy Advance.

I can think of other series that went from bad to good.

That trick causes regular resets when he's doing real attempts all the time, it's really that unpredictable/precise. The only reason the death in arctic caverns cost so much time is because he used the warp to quickly get back to where he was instead of collecting lives and so he didn't have any extras when he messed up

The leaked list is probably correct, but I feel like using Kushala, Teostra, and Deviljho as the barometer for that is kinda weak, as I expect those three every time anyway. It's like believing a leaked Street Fighter roster because Ken, Ryu, and Chun-Li were on it. If it were like Akantor, Seltas Queen, and Barioth that a list got right I would be way more likely to immediately believe it.

Megami Tensei is a licensed game, not made by Atlus, and doesn't really have anything to do with smt besides the whole edgy high school student with a demon summoning program on his computer concept.

The Famicom version is absolutely made by Atlus. There was a different Megami Tensei game also based on the book made by a different company for PCs, but the Famicom one is developed by Atlus, published by Namco.

If you decide to play regular Megami Tensei (which is more similar to classic SMT than people are leading you to believe, they're just not plot-related) then you should forget the Famicom version and look into Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei, which is a remake of MT1 and 2 for Super Famicom with many quality of life improvements. It has a translation patch

Another DYKG video (which was the most heartbreaking one) talks about how Battlefront 3 was 99% complete but because of corporate bullshit it never got finished.

There's a lot of fantastic Star Wars games that were never released because of similar bullshit, lots of Lucas interference too.

It was not 99% complete, it was like 60 or 70 percent complete. What they had finished has leaked out and it is very clearly far from complete.

1313 was not the Uncharted clone, it was the one seemingly about Boba Fett. It was being developed by LucasArts until the studio was shut down by Disney and the project canceled several years back.

The Uncharted clone is the one that was being worked on by Visceral Games and led by Amy Hennig. Visceral was shut down by EA this year, and though they claim that the project was not canceled, whatever we see of it will likely be radically different than what they were describing this as originally.

I think people are stupidly harsh on Abby (no points for telling me the reason why) but her saying Nier music was "generic JRPG" made me yell "WHAT" on a half-full bus which was really funny

Rogue Legacy

It was hyped up as an amazing roguelike metroidvania but its awful at both of those things. I would go as far as to say that its definitely not a Metroidvania, and only barely a roguelike. Even the basic platforming and combat mechanics are pretty poor, and the game rewards grinding and having the right stats more than skilled play. Graphically it takes a lot of shortcuts too that dont look great. I absolutely cannot understand how people can play this game and think its good, let alone one of the best indie games of all time.
