Weapon durability can serve as a form of resource management & strategy. For example, Fire Emblem's durability actually served a purpose of when to save your best weapons for critical moments & just use your more common weapons for minor threats. The fact recent FE games don't have it anymore, means there's few practical reasons to not use the strongest weapon a character has, & unless they have multiple proficiencies, makes the fact they can carry multiple weapons mostly pointless. --- Remember kids, it's only an RPG until someone gets hit with a meteor; Then it's a JRPG! I mean, Merc Missions are passive and you can do other things while waiting on them. Field skill stuff sucked though. Most annoying element of Merc Missions is probably the ones that have specific requirements to even initiate them. I really enjoyed all the time I spent in the menu doing Merc Missions and swapping my blades in and out to use their field skills. Very engaging gameplay Unless you care about blade quests or really want the rewards, & there is little reason to, outside blades who have their affinity charts tied to it, you can ignore most of the Merc Missions. I hate how slow it is to letting you actually use things like chain attacks & a full set of three blades, but after that, it's by far the most fun & dynamic battle system once you get the hang of it.

Turok 1-3 & Rage Wars Yeah, licensed games are licensed games. I guess it would definitely help a lot that Star Wars & Marvel are under the Disney umbrella now, but there's probably still a bunch of legal red tape with those. Killer Instinct, Perfect Dark, & Conker are more Rareware games. Rayman & the Capcom games are best remembered on other systems (mostly PS1). I admit to forgetting Blitz & Cruis'n even existed, but Turok was from Acclaim; who even owns it now? I always heard good things about Snowboard Kids, but all I ever got from Starcraft & C&C is how inferior to the PC versions they were. I'm going to be honest, between the PS1 & Dreamcast versions, I can barely remember those versions of the Tony Hawk games. "Cult Classics" like Goemon & Mischief Makers are probably not going to be the biggest headliners outside certain circles. Finally, Smash 64 is in an awkward situation of too many people expecting Nintendo to add online support to it & will be disappointed with anything less. Zikten posted... GameCube games won't come to NSO til Switch 2. Whether or not the Switch can run them, they won't do a big update like adding a new system to NSO in the final days of Switch. But I bet Switch 2 launches with GameCube on NSO I agree, Nintendo is unlikely to introduce GameCube this late in the Switch's life, but it can't be ignored they're specifically avoiding direct re-releases of GameCube games, instead opting for remakes & remasters, for some reason. I always thought it was probably tied to the GC being the only Nintendo controller to have analog triggers, but Mario Sunshine & Luigi's Mansion were the few games that seriously used them & both have been ported/remade since. The most notable absentees are the ones that require some degree of negotiating with Microsoft for the Rareware games such as Banjo-Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, etc.
Given Nintendo was nearly the sole support for the system, there aren't really a lot of games left most people would seriously be that excited for. I mean, how many of you would really be that excited for Glover or Quest 64? I suppose Mischief Makers has a bit of cult classic status, then there's Mega Man 64 & Resident Evil 2 for novelty, but there's not a lot of big names worth mentioning seriously left. --- Remember kids, it's only an RPG until someone gets hit with a meteor; Then it's a JRPG! To prevent abuse, it was made so that the gods themselves can't use it, which is why Hylia reincarnated as the mortal Zelda, & it's split apart so that it isn't so easy to get; basically, just think of it as the Dragon Balls or the Chaos Emeralds: you need to collect them to get the real power, & having them not only divided, but bound to protectors (Ganondorf stole his piece) provides some safeguards.

Now if you want to retcon or take adaptational liberties with your lore, or even introduce an anomaly to it, that's fine, but hard contradicting what you've established & trying to basically gaslight people into believing it was always that way is a BS way to handle your world building & fanbase.

More specifically when Folgen sets out to attempt using his skill to command the remaining soldiers to serve as a cover for retreat, & he just flops to the ground, as he's basically lobotomized in an instant; like many of the soldiers there, he was dead before he could even realize it happened. Even given the context & motive, it shows just how ruthless Rimuru could get when he needs to, especially given that his acts led to him acquiring a skill that allowed him to instantly end the lives of those who were too afraid to resist him; it's the kind of thing you don't really expect from a protagonist that isn't generally portrayed as being on the evil, villain, or anti-hero spectrum..

Truth is that Gamefreak as a developer, has never mastered the art of 3D game development; just compare their attempts at it between Sw/Sh & S/V, with their amazing sprite work on a game like Giga Wrecker. This isn't an unusual problem among certain Japanese developers, either. For example, Atlus, Intelligent Systems, & Nippon Ichi weren't very good at it, either. The difference is that Atlus & IS have managed to improve -just compare Fire Emblem Engage & Persona 5 to their previous stuff graphically- while other such as Nippon Ichi & Gamefreak have not; seriously, there's no reason for a game like Disgaea 6 to have performance issues, when Switch manages games like FE Engage & Zelda.
