It's already rumored to be a dark action game.

If they mean dark like Tales, like light hearted at time, horrible at others(People love acting like Vesperia is more mature than Symphonia due to Yuri being a more mature protagonist and one game, but I thought the themes were actually darker in symphonia)

DQ also got more popular in western countries(although I guess younger gens might have learned about DQ because of smash)

I think people would be more accepting now but back then he was being compared to guys like Solid Snake or Chris Redfield or Kazuya or Ryu or Scorpion or Kratos who have the emotional range of a teaspoon between them.

I think it's because a lot of us were teen and kids back then and young people tend to vastly overestimate their maturity so teens though they were solid Snake or Kratos when they were actually more immature than Tidus

They litetally sold Eidos Montreal for NFT after the guardian of the galaxy game did well. It just didn't do well enough for them. He is way better in the Dissidia games.

Honestly I can be forgiving to FFX for lines that were not delivered that well since it's one of the first fully voiced games, but I hate how people takes the laughing scene and give it as an example of bad voice acting

Not a tv show, but Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes came out last week, and the right has been attacking everything about the localization, just because the word "chud" is in it. Not saying there aren't problems with some of the script, but when the one criticizing it use the word "woke" in the criticism, you know which side it is.

They did that for Yakuza a few months ago because of a lecture about sexism(which still exist in the japanese version). The game still has plenty of "offensive" humor

There's absolutely unhinged people on circle jerk subreddits in both directions and then you have the game boards here versus the game board at ResetEra where even suggesting Eve looks hot or that you could play the game in a non-revealing costume will get you banned. This game is causing both sides of a dumb culture war to show their entire asses for everyone to see. I am sure I will eventually get the game on sale in the future and whatever status her outfits are in at that point will have no impact on my buying decision. Gameplay is considered good by most critics and players and that's what I play games for.

I am not saying they don't exist, but I still see people whining about Abby not being hot in almost every gaming groups I am in. You know which gaming games groups I never joined? The last of us groups

It's actually extremely rare that I see people complaining about characters being too hot

This is an amazing show. Watch it. I am happy they made people remember that this is the x men show and not the Wolverine show and that people liked the other x-men

That said, kinda hoping he gets an episode or 2 in seasons 2, i think giving him a backseat for season 1 was fine, but he is still a main character

If you prefer turn based rpg over brawler, you might want to consider 7. That's what I did and I went back to old entries

Yeah that's definitely part of it.

Honestly I think JPRPGs would be better off without battle music for regular enemy encounters. Just let the music for the area play uninterrupted. Then use battle music for enemies that are mini boss level or above.

I think it's fine if they have multiple battle theme or a more agressive version of the overworld theme.

Would it be a hot take to say that, in general, Final Fantasy regular battle themes aren't very good? They always seem to be near the bottom in every Final Fantasy game that I can think of.

Boss music, on the other hand, pretty much always ranges from great to awesome. Although... the final boss music usually isn't as good as mid game boss music.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

I will have to admit I do not disagree. But I think the problem is that most FF only has one generic battle theme so we get a bit tired of hearing it

I've finished both Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth, and unfortunately, I didn't enjoy either one.

IW is probably the last Yakuza that I'll play...outside of the ones I already own and haven't played yet (Kiwami, Kiwami 2 - I did play the originals - Y6, Judgment, & Lost Judgment).

Why didn't you like them?

It's a really fun game, but the story is not deep. Honestly I am replaying old story games lately and I think that while some modern crap sucks(microtransactions) games got a lot better with storytelling after 2000

For years I wanted a jrpg set in a modern city that felt like a real place, and LaD checked all the boxes right down to being able to go to restaurants and bars. I also liked how creative the enemies were, and how they were contextualized. After I played this game I spent the next several months playing every mainline Yakuza game and both Judgments. What a great series

How are the judgements games? I am playing Kiwami and I consider maybe playing them as a break from Kiryu's adventures when I get in the middle

0 is my personal recommendation for starting. It's a great sampling of the action, tone, melodrama, humor, and side content that the series is famous for. It requires no previous knowledge to engage in, as it's a prequel to the main storyline, so it exists quite self-contained.

I think if someone prefer rpg like me, 7 is better since it made me want to see all past games. I just started Kiwami and I do believe I will appreciate the story

Technically speaking, I think Infinite Wealth is the better game, but 0 has a better story. I liked IW more for the characters interactions than the grand scheme

7 is fine to start, but yes playing the Kiryu games and 7 should preferably be done before playing IW, but I still enjoyed IW while playing 0

ichiban is my favourite protagonist of all time

Seonhee is great. Kiryu is amazing of course, but I am not that far in Kiryu's adventures
