Yep, Nintendo was weird with censorship like... a decade ago. But the games they were censoring back then were T for Teen and they were trying to keep them from jumping up to M for Mature, not games that were already rated and intended to be M-rated to begin with like the games Sony has been censoring lately. Nintendo has been far nicer to third-party M-rated games on the Switch, while Sony has gone in the opposite direction in recent years.

I'm more upset there's no way to put the hood up and have her actually look like a bunny. :(

Spoiler: they never cared about it. SB was supposed to be the firing shot against woke feminist agenda. it came out and now they're in outrage, again. They have to chase that outrage.

Hell, a majority only wanted the game to play with one hand. They wanted to coom. It's biggest defenders are only talking about "muh jiggle physics".

I would talk about the gameplay more if I could actually play it, but it's a PS5 exclusive. If it ever gets an Xbox release, then I'll play it and talk about the gameplay.

I'm against censorship in almost all cases including this one.

So there has to be a reason for it? How about when Kojima came up with that BS excuse of Quiet being naked because she breathes through her skin, is that okay too? Or does the reasoning have to be realistic.

I say go the Yoko Taro route, make a sexy character if you want, who the fuck cares. And if its appealing to the male gaze, all the more better for us males.

So to sum it up: a Japanese game had to edit outfits to cover more skin and remove a jiggle physics slider, and these changes only applied to the Playstation version. I don't know about you, but that sounds like censorship forced by Sony, and what they were forced to censor seems pretty tame compared to literally being allowed to fuck a bear in Baldur's Gate 3.

I have a feeling that the outfits that were changed were those worn by the underage characters. Don't know why people get so mad at sony for not wanting sexualized minors on their systems.

The problem is, minors or not, Sony has been so trigger happy with their censorship that anything they do now is seen in bad faith, and for good reason unfortunately.

I fundamentally disagree with the censorship, and it does bother me to some degree. I don't see what the point of changing them is at all.

Half the marketing of the game was basically just the costumes, and it honestly kinda even feels like a bait and switch at this point.

Why did they even bother changing the costumes now? It's not like the backlash just started, or other costumes aren't just as, if not more revealing anyways.

I don't even care about Stellar Blade, but watching people get so angry over a Bayonetta side grade in almost every regard is weird to me.

I have never been called a Hard.... R by anyone or anything, because nobody says that to another person. So I would say confused and angry that people feel compelled to stand for this crap, but they won't go into the roughest hoods to donate food, time or money....

So confused. But Stellar Blade is a good game, best Sony exclusive since Ghosts of Tsushima.

the "HARD" "R Shop" thing is pointless censorship cause you have to go through some serious mental hoops to think that eludes to the N-word in any fashion. No normal person is going to think it has any relation to N. You know who would, though? Someone looking for something where there is nothing. Which was probably one of the early reviewers.

BP Global (published by Amazon) removed a whole ass body type from the game (S type) in addition to changing clothing that the other characters wear. Removed the jiggle physics in character creation because "it could make people uncomfortable". Among other things. All for "modern audiences". To note, S Type is what common folks would call "the child character". Negating the fact small women do exist.....Meanwhile, simulated gambling for teens is A-OK!

I'm bothered that the violence got toned down. Not many games show the character being covered in blood. I thought it was cool that the character got bloodier the further you got into the game.

also the blood on her was only ever in pre-release media. the game is still gory as hell and people complaining that it was "censored' is ridiculous.

The bigger issue is Sony's hypocrisy against Asian games. It feels like its blatant racism.

They allow sex scenes in Baldurs Gate 3, nudity in Cyberpunk, A full on sex scene in Last of Us 2. But God forbid an attractive Asian girl!

I don't have a whole list at hand but DMC5 had a problem with this until people kicked up a storm and they removed it. Even thought the Xbox version was totally fine. Also:

There are also tons of other games like Omega Labyrinth Life which was outright denied a release until they adhered to censorship standards of Sonys Californian branch. They were bound by a contract meaning they couldn't even release it on steam.

Sony holds some these companies in a corner until they bend the knee and censor their own stuff.

Edit: if you gave me more time I could find tons of examples like these. But I really don't think it needs to be outlined at this point.

So whats the excuse in why a game like tormented souls has uncensored nudity in the first 5 minutes of the game (on a traditionally attractive character)? This game is niche indie title and far from popular.

*Also throwing it out there that when it comes to "well, they are just bullying asian developers" that phantasy star online 2 is like the horniest game we have right now, and that game is left as is. They actually reversed changes they made to some outerwear/basewear clothes when that new genesis version came out, lol.*
