I think it's tech against Darkest Hour Warlock and not much else in wild.

Like the average aggro deck is just gonna be like "whatever that card's not gonna touch most of my stuff anyway"
Hits any mech that's magnetized above 5 attack from mech paladin. Hits a lot in Even Shaman. Hits 4 mana 7/7 (and the new 4 mana 5/7 spell damage). Hits various 0 mana 5/5s. Hits Sea Giant. Hits anything drawn by warrior galakrond (and they tend to run various 5 attack minions anyway). Hits mountain giant, not that Even lock is very good right now.

I dunnno, having a 5/5 or 7/7 or 8/8 around turn 3-4 is kind-of a thing that a lot of decks do in wild.

Yeah, I was definitely clamouring for Priest to have a real board clear so they wouln't need to print one every year...but...at like...6 mana.

That monster of a card costs 4 mana. That bad boy is going to rock the wild metagame o_O

Like...I remember when Mass Hysteria came out and people whined that it wasn't Psychic Scream. Fast forward to now and Mass Hysteria is in more wild decks than scream cause wild is fast and Mass Hysteria costs 5.

This absolute unit of a board clear costs 4.

Of the new cards released this week...(Winged Guardian, Bomb Wrangler, Licenced Adventurer, Shadow Sculptor, Twisted Knowledge).

Early stats from HSReplay...

are showing Bomb Wrangler as the obvious best card of the bunch. As someone pointed out, it's like Imp Gang Boss. 2/3 instead of 2/4, but spawns boom bots.

Eye of the Storm looks hilariously bad even after the Dragons Pack nerf.
I mean, the comparison I would make is Rain of Toads. I've played rain of toads in decks, it's ok. This is 4 more mana for 9 more attack and 6 more health, in theory that's not terrible.

But you usually want your taunts to cost less than 10 so...I struggle to imagine putting this into a deck unless the mana cost is being cheated.

Also, new spoiled cards.

Pretty sure the amount of upvotes on reddit fairly directly correlates to power level today. In order...

Grand Lackey Erkh is like Gadgetzan Auctioneer for lackeys and probably the strongest card revealed today. I don't think every lackey deck will want it, same way not every deck with spells runs Auctioneer, but this card is kind-of scary.

Air Raid is a really strong dude generator. Like...sure, Lost in the Jungle costs 1, but this has twinspell, and the dudes have taunt on top of that. I've been discussing possible uses in wild.

Winged Guardian is a respectable 7 mana taunt for druid. Solid card in a vacuum, although it really lacks a home--doesn't go into token druid, into quest druid, or into breath of dreams dragon druid, and I think running it with embiggen is a bit sketchy cause you don't want to raise the mana cost. Still, expect it to show up somewhere. Of course Reddit is freaking out about power creep cause it's "better than Soggoth the Slitherer." (eyeroll)

Aeon Reaver is a weaker verison Flik Skyshiv for Priest. (But it's a dragon. Priest is actually lacking in dragons that don't have conditions attached, making building dragon priest super awkward in standard right now, so I'm glad this exists). In a vacuum, maybe in another class it would be played, but I fully expect it to stay mostly out of the meta because it messes up the res pool and isn't good with inner fire.

Even ignoring considerations about animation and computers, the commitment and decision making are just fast, and there's almost no wrong decisions.

Like...animations not withstanding I can maybe see three things that could be argued as mistakes. He maybe should have played the golden to see if he was getting megasaur before his first discover, but playing the Lookout first was better for animations, so that may have been correct. (This did mean he picked up a toxfin that he didn't end up using thanks to picking up a Megasaur). He missed getting 4 health on Bargugle by playing it after Coldlight Seer. This isn't even necessarily a mistake--he might just want the Bargugle to die for the deathrattle. And the third arguable mistake was when he was deciding what to keep selling off murlocs, he kept two lookouts--this sort-of bit him a few turns later when he triples the lookouts, and then ends up with one fewer divine shield poisonous minion (but does get to discover four murlocs and gets a really big lookout, so it was probably ok).

So like...at most three very minor mistakes that I can see, all of which do have arguments for not being mistakes at all. And no misclicks. (He does run out of time at the end, but only for unimportant stuff--was just madly buying anything from the shop to spend the 9 mana he still had available).

Because The Last Jedi was interesting, at the very least.

There isn't anything worth discussing to this movie.
Partly because it's the final movie in the series and they wrapped up most of the plot threads. Like...we can't speculate on what will happen between Ren and Rey because that storyline is all wrapped up (even though I felt like they handled the link and dynamic between them quite well in this movie).

I guess we can speculate on the one remaining dangling plot thread which is that they really strongly implied that Finn is an untrained Jedi. Like...Finn in this movie got all the sorts of lines that would have gone to Leia in RotJ, he would point at a ship and just be like "no, it's that ship, I can feel it." Literally only Jedi do that kind of shit.

Just seems like lazy ass design. RaNdOm is fun type deal.
It's also what I expected with the way they handled Reno in the adventures. (Reno was the bumbling idiot who was like "ooh, what does this button do?" When he first gets the gattling wand he's literally hitting himself in the face with it). Also with the way they present the board clear effect of the card. "The minions go *poof*. Where do they go? Who knows? Reno certainly doesn't!"

My first guess was that the minions you had poofed would randomly resummon on your side some time later (but not at predictable intervals). Something that would make Reno look incompetent and out of control but still win games.

Like...it was definitely going to be something semi-random and out of control. The *least* random hero power I could imagine them giving Reno would be like...a hero power that casts arcane missiles. (But that would be fairly bland).

If the other explorers have hero powers I'd expect them to be a lot more...stable and predictable than Reno, just given the way their characters have been written.

Get those salt shakers ready, boys.
Reddit seems to be shitting on this hero power, claiming it's super weak, but it looks...fine to me?

I wasn't expecting the hero power to singlehandedly take over the game--recent DK hero powers have been more around the power level of justicar trueheart hero powers (like...warlock galakrond makes two 1/1s, and Zul'Jin pings for 2). This is...roughly that kind of power level.

(The battlecry on the card is already enough to make the card playable. It's like...the lovechild of Plague of Death, Psychic Scream, and vanish. Creatures just go away but without dying or threatening to come back. Oh, and gain 5 armour. Hero power is still typically an upgrade over the mage ping, even if it's going to make for some trollden moments).

Made some serious dust from the nerfs woow.

Like...golden Scion of Ruin (+2 non-golden), golden Dragon's Pack (no non-golden), Ancharr, plus commons.

A little torn on the adventure. Historically I buy adventures with cash, but I kind-of wanted to go full F2P after blitzchung, and if they're going to be doing three adventures a year, $60 a year is very not F2P (I was like $20 per year or so before). I'll have the gold, obviously, it would just mean I'll only have 30k-40k gold saved for the spring expansion. That's...really not a lot.

I might do what some people on reddit have done and just...donate to a pro hong kong charity to cover my conscience.

Do they even have playtesters?
TBH, I think the issue is that they're hitting the wrong card.

Shaman's Galakrond just has way higher winrate when drawn then all the other Galas, and they're compensating by nerfing literally all the synergy cards instead of the Shaman Gala.

They should just make the battlecry two 2/1s with rush, invoke twice to make two 4/2s with rush, invoke twice to make two 8/4s with rush.

The fully invoked Gala really shouldn't be two 8/8s.

Enjoyed it overall. Cried at several points. Never felt the movie was dragging.

This is not a movie I'd suggest people see without seeing a lot of other movies in the series. (At least episodes 4-8). There's a lot of visual storytelling where it makes references to stuff in other movies with just a visual and no explanation.

But man, Palpatine was a weak villain.

Like...they chose OT Palpatine who basically has three personality traits

  • Lightning
  • Evil Laughter
  • "Kill this person that you hate and become sith forever"

They could have chosen like...Prequel trilogy Palpatine, who has a little depth and character development. They could have done Darth Jar Jar.

Like...I get that Rey and Ren had been built up for ages to team up eventually, which means that naturally they should bring in some big threat. But OT Emperor is pretty bland. (Overall the Ren and Rey stuff was pretty well-done though, so overall good impressions of the movie).

I have decided I'm going to play Control Highlander Shaman which may or may not include Quest and/or Galakrond.

I have no idea what my list will consist of, but I'm determined to make this work.
Several variants of this have been pretty good in wild.

In standard...my guess is that quest would work better than Galk. (There's a lot more battlecry cards than galk cards, so it's easier to make substitutions). Although, the top shaman highlander deck I found on HSReplay just ran both.

So...I never really had a desire to play the wild quest/giants mage deck before, buuut according to initial reports wild quest highlander mage is tier 1 in wild (and doesn't run dragonqueen alex, which is good cause I don't have her, but I do have the rest of the relevant highlander cards).

Ended up crafting 3 cards for this. Quest, Primordial Glyph, and Barista Lynchen. In retrospect Barista is probably not that important but oh well--decent odds I'll want her for other decks like various shaman nonsense.

Didn't bother crafting the new giant or vulpera scoundrel or Chenvalla. (Not all lists run the new giant, and god, I just....don't want to waste dust on vulpera scoundrel; when I look at hsreplay stats on that card it's nearly always the lowest winrate card in its deck. Chenvalla is clearly not core to the deck, I just ran Flamewaker instead.).

Ended up cutting Brann Bronzebeard who is in every list I've seen but felt super awkward when I drew him, and HSReplay stats flagged him as one of the lower winrate cards. He's good with Kazakus, good with Zola, but irrelevant with old reno, usually overkill with new reno, and sketchy to combine with Zeph unless Brann survives a turn.

One of my early deckbuilding mistakes was copying a list that didn't have Cobalt Spellkin. Run that card, it's really good. (Violet Spellwing is not as good, but I ended up running it as well just cause generating enough spells to complete the quest has been a problem).

Overall I don't really have a full feel for the deck yet. It doesn't complete the quest that fast, but it also has most of the control tools of Reno Mage so it can often just win as a control deck before the quest even completes; I'd say a lot of my wins have been pre quest completion. I've also definitely lost after the quest completed. (Against a big priest who had ressed a bunch of 4/8 lifesteal taunts; could not punch through those even with three turns). I do seem to be winning slightly more than I'm losing, but I don't feel like I know what I'm doing yet.

Full stop. Mogus rush makes him better than Sea Giant.
Nahhh

Like...Thief Rogue gets a 2 mana 3/4 rush. I don't think people would consider it balanced if Thief Rogue got a 3 mana "if you're holding a card from another class this is an 8/8."

8/8 is just a lot bigger than 3/4 rush.

I mean, granted, with Mogu Fleshshaper/Sea Giant the 1 mana cost difference might be a big deal, because these cards are threshold based. As soon as you start a turn with enough mana to cast one of these cards, you can also play all of your 1-mana minions (lackeys etc) basically for free, and still play the giant/fleshshaper.

(Unless you just mean that Fleshshaper is better when you also have mutate in your hand, which...sure, I agree. The advantage of sea giant is that you could cut Mutate, which is already one of the weaker cards in the deck).

Mogu Fleshshaper kind of got buffed. Weird nerfs.
As someone who plays plenty of Sea Giant, no that's not a buff to Mogu Fleshshapper. It costs nearly as much as Sea Giant Now, and unless your opponent helps you, you can't actually get Sea Giant below 4 mana (that's 6 slots, with one board slot open for the giant itself).

Don't get me wrong, in very specific matchups where both players are on board flood decks it will get down to 0 (I've cast Sea Giant for 0 before) but I think 90% of the time you're going to be paying that two extra mana. This means that you get Fleshshaper down 1-2 turns later on average. This means you might literally never play fleshshaper against control warrior (sea giant is a notoriously bad card in the control warrior matchup cause they keep your board clear and tend to have very few minions of their own).

Also, I think there will be an open question now whether it's better to put mogu fleshshaper or sea giant in your deck now. Yeah, if you fleshshapper and mutate you get to deal 3 damage and probably get something bigger than 8/8, but that's also two cards, and you need to draw both cause either on their own is sub-par.

(For me the biggest surprise nerf was Sludge Slurper. I mean, acceptable nerf, it's still better than EVIL Cable Rat which is never cut from quest shaman so the card will still have a home, it just was obviously wasn't the best 1-drop in Galak shaman when Invocation of Frost is around).

Yeah, definitely.

Star wars is a family drama, set in space, with laser swords and space magic and cool spaceships.

They could do away with the whole light side of the force/dark side of the force if they wanted (grey Jedi ARE a part of the extended universe, and the whole light side/dark side forced dichotomy kinda hamstrings both the PT and ST). But they should keep the laser swords and space magic.

Divided between people who think he's some arch misogynist, and people who think he's awesome and totally reformed.

they already announced balance changes to Shaman lmao.

Nerf predictions:

The highest drawn winrate cards are like...

Galkarond 71.6% (They may or may not touch this. C'Thun was probably the highest winrate card in C'Thun decks. Shaman Galk stats are way better than other Galks for drawn/played rate, so it might get hit).

Invocation of Frost 67.7% (This might go to 2 mana, I think? 2 mana for a 2/1 rush isn't even that far off from playable. I've played Hench Clan Hogsteed in wild, and freeze a minion is maybe better than a 1/1. Certainly at 1 mana it's like Glacial Shard with rush, and a 2/1 with rush is a lot better than a 2/1 without rush).

Corrupted Elementalist 67.6% (this is going to 6 mana. People are playing Devoted Maniac, and for one more mana you basically get Devoted Maniac but also a third 3/3 body, and two invokes).

(Next highest are Mogu Fleshshaper and Shudderwock, which...maaaaybe Mogu Fleshshaper, but they've survived this long without nerfs, don't expect any changes).

Evasive Chimera - I like untargetables. I think this is also better than MC is giving it credit for. Still won't get run.

Patient Assassin is a card that exists, and that's a 2 mana 1/1 with stealth and poisonous.

This just has "can't be targeted by spells or hero powers" (which, by the way doesn't stop the Rogue or druid hero power from killing it). It's really bad.

Dragonmaw Poacher - Will dominate the day 1 meta and probably a long time to come. I'm honestly thinking of avoiding putting dragons in my early decks just to duck this guy.

Yeah...I watched some streamers play in the pre-launch events. Dragonmaw Poacher is such a big deal. It's a lot better than the Kobolds and Catacombs card (Dragon Slayer; 3 mana 4/3 battlecry: deal 6 damage to a dragon). In addition to killing whatever drgon was in play, your opponent also gets a 4 mana 8/4.

Evasive Drakonid - definitely a good card. How do you deal with this besides maybe Deadly Shot?

Attack it with minions, or weapons, or hit it with battlecries. (Relevant battlecr''ies include Crowd Roaster, Big Game Hunter, Spellbreaker, Shieldbreaker). Still small enough to get munched by Dragonmaw Poacher too. Like, if you tell me that my opponent is putting Evasive Drakonid into their deck, I definitely have ways to punish this.

I mean, after the reduced sentence for Blitzchung, Ulti did say that he was going to keep playing hearthstone, and I did continue to see him in game and did 80g quests with him from time to time.

(He did clear out a lot of his friend list other than people he knows IRL around the time of the HK incident, though, giving some the impression he had actually deleted his account or something).

6 mana

6/6 mech. Battlecry: your other mechs have stealth until your next turn. I mean...I play some mech decks, ranging from bomb hunter to quest paladin, and for each of these decks I'm squinting at this and asking "but why though?"

Evasive Wyrm. 5/3 Dragon. Rush, Divine Shield, can't be targeted by spells or hero powers. My gut says Slam two copies of this into every dragon deck. It's almost like a 6 mana Siamat with the dragon tag (a little weaker, but hey, dragon tag right?) There is a comparison to be made with Crowd Roaster (For one more mana, 7/4 deal 7, instead of 5/3 deal 5 no targeting). But more mana and requires holding a dragon.

4/5 rush windfury. Mech. (Gyrocopter). This might make the cut somewhere, probably a mech deck. Windfury that threatens to combo with magnetize is really scary on a mech, and you're probably happy just using this as a rush board clear in most matchups. (Also, this is another tribal 6 mana variant of Siamat, which does 6/6 rush windfury for 7).

Kronx Dragonhoof. 6/6, draw Galkarond, or unleash a devasation if you are Galkarond (devastations are like deal 5 damage to all enemy minions or summon an 8/8 taunt). Goes into some Galkarond decks. A lot of the Galk decks I'm thinking of building are like...zoo decks that lean on invoke and aren't actually hoping to draw/play Galk, so maaaaybe Kronx might not fit in those? If your deck's gameplan involves playing Galk, though, obviously you run this. Tutors Galk, or does something OP.

5/5 both players draw a card, if it's a dragon, summon it. I don't know if it's good, but I do know that this is too much RNG for me, and I'll probably avoid decks built around it.

7 mana

Evasive Drakonid. Dragon. 7/7 taunt, can't be targeted by spells or hero powers. I'm...not that excited by this card. I'm aware that Soggoth the Slitherer was a 9 mana 5/9 and people played it. But ehh...turn 7/8/9 have gotten a lot spicier since those days. I might be underselling this, though; decent against aggro cause it has taunt, and decent against control because it's a 7/7 they can't target?

Shu'ma. 1/7 fill your board with 1/1s at the end of your turn. So I mean...I play quest hunter. I have on occasion played Swarm of locusts and just passed the turn. This seems quite a bit worse than swarm of locusts, though. The 1/1s don't have rush. They aren't summoned until end of turn, so you can't play this and hero power. Costs 7 instead of 6. I'm leaning towards this card being underwhelming in that deck. I might be underestimating the possibility of Shu'ma living and summoning two turns in a row, though.

8 mana

4/10 Dragon. Battlecry deal 4 damage to two random enemy minions. I feel like the comparison here is Primordial Drake. And it doesn't hold up well (no taunt, battlecry seems probably worse). I crafted Primordial Drakes, but didn't actually end up putting them into that many decks. This is fairly niche.

9 mana

Dragonqueen Alextraza. 8/8 dragon. (No duplicates -> two 0 cost dragons). Still sad this is 9 mana, when most of my wild highlander decks are Genn decks.

Sathrovarr. 5/5 demon. Battlecry: copy a friendly minion on the board, into your hand, and into your deck. Already been people's free legendary for a while. Good with Shirvala. Good if you can land it on Zephrys. Questionable in other decks.

3 mana

4/3 deathrattle shuffle two 1/1s into your opponent's deck. (Bad Luck Albatross). It's...interesting. It's kind of like Weasel Tunneler, but with ok stats when you play it. If your opponent draws a 1/1 this card was worth it, so it's ideal in midrangey decks that expect to last about 15 turns. Also worth it if they don't draw it but they're playing highlander or Paladin Paladin and you disable a couple of their cards. Seems...narrow though.

3/4 your opponent's next hero power costs 3. Meh. If you want to counter wild even decks, this is a pretty nasty turn 3 play, but this is pretty marginal against most other decks.

3/4 has +3 attack for each other of ~this~ you control. Are you looking for a Beast version of Spider Tank? This is a better option than Augmented Elek.

1/3 battlecry gain +1 attack for each card in your opponent's hand. The comparison I've seen is to Goblin Sapper, which is a 2/4 that gets +4 attack if your opponent is holding 6 cards. The 4 health matters a lot I think, and Goblin Sapper also sucked.

3/3 if you control a mech gain +1/+1 and rush. (Goboglide Tech). Sam this into your mech decks IMO.

3/4 your minions can't be frozen. Elemental. I do hate being frozen, so I kinda want that in a deck TBH. I probably shouldn't run it, buuuut...temptation is high.

3/3 Battlecry: if you're holding a dragon deal 2 damage (Scalerider). It's SI:7 for dragon decks, and literally the only dragon relevant card at 3 mana or below. Run this in your dragon decks.

4 mana

Devoted Maniac--2/2 rush invoke. Most of the invoke cards look really strong to me, where getting one of those hero powers actually makes the card sound worth playing on its own. This card is the exception. With the shaman galk it's...a 2/2 rush and a 2/1 rush. That's basically a 4 damage spell to enemy minions for 4 mana which is pretty...meh. With the Warlock Galk you get a 2/2 rush and two 1/1s. By comparsion at 4 mana you could get Hench Clan Hag for a 3/3 and two 1/1s (no rush but 3/3 is quite a bit bigger than 2/2). I'm...underwhelmed.

Dragonmaw Poacher--4/4 if your opponent controls a dragon gain +4/+4 and rush. Probably one of those cards you just slam into every deck on day 1, but becomes more niche as people realize dragons aren't as busted as they thought.

5/4 can't be targeted by spells or hero powers. Dragon. Don't think this makes the cut

Frizz Kindleroost: 5/4 battlecry reduce the cost of dragons in your deck by 2. I was having some debates with people on reddit about this card, but I think people are overhyping it when they call it the new keleseth. At some point, cost reduction stops mattering, when you run out of cards in hand (around 10 mana) so you have to draw this, and then after that draw important cost reduced dragons before you are just sitting on excess mana anyway. (Exceptions for combo malygos decks, but I don't think this is a great combo enabler since you need to not draw Malygos first to set up combos with this).

2/6 rush taunt. I...don't think this makes the cut in most decks, but it's a lot closer than all the other 2/6 taunts we've gotten recently.

4/2 equip one of your destroyed weapons. Pirate. I...am not sold on this card. Almost never good on turn 4 cause the weapons that are dead by that point are rarely worth reviving. Pretty sure it would equip a 1/3 Kingsbane, so that's not very useful. If you get like a firey war axe or better out of it, that's probably acceptable value for the mana, but you need to actually play and destroy that weapon first, which won't always happen fast.

3/3 deal 3 damage to a random enemy minion. (Troll Batrider) It's...technically neutral Flanking Strike if you're lucky. Bomb Lobber got some real play in constructed (5 mana 3/3 deal 4 damage to a random target) so this actually probably will too.

2/5 has +2 attack for each dragon in your hand. One dragon makes this a yeti. I am jaded and don't expect much from this style of card, though.

3/9 taunt, battlecry summon three 1-cost minions for your opponent. (Zudark Ritualist) Fairly garbage in a generic deck; if you assume all three summons will just attack into the taunt, it's like a 3/4 or 3/5 taunt. However...If you have a plan to resurrect it, cheat it into play without triggering battlecry, or just really hate wild big priest, though, I guess it might find a home? Arguably goes straight into wild Jade Druid as the taunt you want to summon off of Oaken Summons, and giving the middle finger to big priest is still relevant for wild jade druid.

5 mana

Big Ol Whelp: 5/5 battlecry: draw a card. Dragon. I'm slamming this card into basically every deck on launch, including non-dragon decks.

0/3 egg, secretly discover a dragon to hatch into. Deathrattle: hatch. ...Meh. We know what an egg needs to hatch into at 5 mana, and it's an 8/8 (Mechan'o'egg). This is going to hatch way smaller than 8/8 a lot of the time.

3/5 Dragon. Battlecry: add two 1-cost spells to your hand. (Cobalt Spellkin). This looks...pretty good actually? A 5 mana 3/5 is a bit slow, though, so not all decks will want it.

Faceless Corruptor: 5/4 rush, Battlecry: transform one of your minions into a copy of this. People have been hyping this card up as neutral oasis surger which...I mean, obviously you need a minion to transform and it's 5/4, but yeah, still plenty strong.

4/4 battlecry steal your opponent's weapon. Most decks would be happier with Harrison, I think. (Extra kick in the teeth to wild Kingsbane decks though?)

Platebreaker: 5/5 destroy your opponent's armour. Still shocked that this is a thing.

Shield of Galkarond: 4/5 taunt invoke. Really good card. Most of the invoke effects are worth adding about 2 mana to get, which makes this kind-of like a 4/5 taunt for 3. Just...pushed.

3/3 murloc, If you're holding a dragon summon two random murlocs. (Skyfin). I mean, power-level wise this is fine if you're holding a dragon. Like...I play Murloc Knight in my wild Even Paladin, and Murloc Knight into 1 mana hero power is a real solid turn 5 play and requires no other muloc synergy. This is pretty similar. But...man, I also remember Blackwing Technician, which like yeah it was a 3 mana 3/5, but often got cut from decks cause it wasn't a dragon. I'm skeptical if "make a decent pile of stats on the board" is enough of an incentive to run a non-dragon in a dragon deck.

6/5. Each player draws a card, swap their costs. (Tentacled Menace). Super niche for some weird druid ramp deck or big paladin deck or something. Most decks just run Big ol' Welp so you don't draw your opponent a card.

The thing before it was the buffs to the boomsday cards.

I mean, both of those events were free, so maybe I have nothing to worry about.

I'm a little skeptical about having an adventure with new cards 2 months after set release; is this raising it to 6 times a year that things need to be purchased instead of 3? Cause that'll make it a lot harder for F2P players.

Hopefully it's not high cost.

General first impression of the full set:

Neutral commons and rares: really strong almost across the board. Like...5/5 Azure Drake at common, ok.

Neutral epics: fairly weak/niche.

Class commons and rares: good, a few duds, but also some cycles that look strong across the board.

Class epics: There's a lot of really good ones unfortunately. Like the 5/5 that deals 5 if you're overloaded. Probably going into just about every shaman deck. All the invoke payoff cards.

Legendaries: Seem...fine--mostly strong but pretty niche so that I won't feel bad if I don't have em. Ones liable to annoy me (If I don't open them) are the Rogue Vilespine Slayer legendary, and maybe Kronx Dragonhoof if I decide that it's core to Galkarond decks. (I think a lot of the Galkarond decks I have planned at the moment don't actually plan to play Galk itself, just use the invoke, so maybe this won't be a big deal). Kronx reminds me of Twin Emp Veklor, and I spent a good year annoyed that I didn't have that card, but also not wanting to craft it because I didn't think C'Thun decks were good enough to invest that much dust.

Really strong neutrals and really strong rare and common neutrals means we'll probably see some class homogenization where decks lean on the same core neutrals. Granted, deck full of mostly neutrals was like...the meta a year or two ago, but it is interesting; I was under the impression they were drifting away from that kind of design.

Lots of important class epics will likely just piss me off. I don't like to go around and craft a ton of class epics (unless I'm sure I'll play the class and the epic a lot). But when there's a lot of important epics this does leave me feeling like there's a lot of archetypes I can't play.

It does make him look like an idiot who doesn't do his homework, though, which is a pretty common theme with Pete's campaign.

File that along with his comment of "I didn't know schools in South Bend were still segregated until years after I took office as Mayor". Hm, yes, wouldn't that be your job as Mayor, though?

Ah, ok I did misunderstand. I thought that before you drew Galakrond that it just upgraded Galakrond's battlecry, and after you played Galakrond it activated Galakrond's hero power. But it also activates Galakrond's hero power before you play Galakrond as well.

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense.

Just wanted to throw this out there, as that knowledge tends to help in evaluating the Invoke cards, which on their face value may not look that great, but when taking the hero power that will trigger with it into consideration, it may (or may not) become a markedly better card.

That part made sense to me yeah.

However...almost all the invoke cards still look bad to me.

Like...C'Thun cards were good bodies for the card. 2 mana 2/3. 4 mana 4/2 divine shield. etc. They were still vanilla minions, and ultimately most decks don't want vanilla minions. But cost-wise they were ok.

By comparison, the invoke cards tend to be stupid expensive. Like...4 mana 2/2 rush. 3 mana 1/1 gain +1 attack for each other friendly minion. 1 mana spell, give a minion +1 attack.

These cards are really bad if you don't draw Galakrond. And like...sure, the C'Thun cards were also underwhelming if you didn't draw C'Thun, but there's a difference between running a River Crocolisk (Beckoner of Evil), and running a card that wishes it was as good as Magma Rager (Dragonblight Cultist).
