Not sure what we're growling about, but I have finished watching all 300 openings (and writing up inital thoughts to go along with each) a few days ago. I've also made a rough ranking as I went along. So now I'm moving onto the next stage where I rewatch everything from the bottom of the ranking upwards and give each opening a proper write up (which will range between a line or two to multiple paragraphs depending on how much I feel like typing up), and readjusting their positions for the final ranking.

I have no estimated date of when this will be done, though I intend to start the next topic once I get close to finishing (since I doubt anything in the top 50 or even 100 is going to drop by like 150 spaces).

WWE: Styles, both of his reigns are memorable. Most of Cena's reigns were too short, Lesnar only really had his 2014 reign, and Punk's 2012 reign was undermined by playing second fiddle to Cena and Rock.

I am now trying to think of possible opponents for the Fiend and what might happen to continue this trend.

• The Undertaker - The next time he returns, he's back to being the American Badass.
• Braun Strowman - Goes back to being Wyatt's "muscle" once more.
• Drew McIntyre/Jinder Mahal/Heath Slater - Return of 3MB
• The New Day - They go back to what the gimmick was originally supposed to be before they turned heel way back in 2015.
• Roman Reigns - This would never happen, but could you imagine him finally turning after losing to the Fiend?
• R-Truth - Reverts to his heel conspiracy theorist gimmick from 2011
• Triple - Becomes Reign of Terror HHH again except he does it at NXT where he makes an impromtu match after a title match at NXT Takeover where he wins the NXT title.

The one arguably good thing about the Fiend character is the fact that it's giving everyone he faces a fresh creative take that rejuvenates their characters. Balor's character since vacating the Universal belt was bad and one-deminsional, so him turning and ditching that gimmick is already the most interesting he's been in years. Rollins was not coming off well as the top face of the RAW brand, so the direction he has gone since Survivor Series is also welcomed. And honestly, The Miz's Face run was a disaster the moment Shane pinned him at Mania. It is clear that they have no intention of pushing him as a main eventer and him losing to Funhouse Bray Wyatt killed off any credibility he might have had as a babyface.

I would actually like to see whoever Wyatt faces at EC/Fast Lane try to rationalise why all his opponents have changed and how it had nothing to do with Wyatt himself and it was just a coincidence that they suddenly having these character changes after facing him, to try to undersell the danger of the Fiend. Then he obviously loses at the PPV and the next week he turns/reverts to a old gimmick too.

Yes, you've beat the game even if you've used "rewind/save state" features, especially in cases where official (re)releases offer you the choice to use it. There are even games are require you to use such a feature as part of the experience (Braid).

There is nothing wrong with doing it, too, despite what these judgemental gamers full of bravado lead you to believe. We live in an age where a lot of people who play video games are now in their 20's or older, most of which have other responsibilities in their lives such as "jobs" (and not "the ones where you play/talk about games" like some of these people arguing against this) and "family" that they have to provide for. They also probably have a bunch of other things they wish to do their free time too such as other games to play, stuff to watch (movies, shows) and other hobbies. So why shouldn't they be free to use said option if it means beating the game quicker and allowing them to move onto something else? In many cases, they could have probably ended up beating the game without that anyway after so much time, but felt the "extra grind" isn't worth it.

Cheat codes (in game or external devices) and passwords are another story, depending on what they do (e.g. take you to the final level/boss, offer you extra lives, unlimited money, unlocking every weapon/skill from the start). Quite frankly, I bet a lot of those against rewinds/save states used cheats and/or passwords at least one point when they younger to beat said games. Especially hilarious in regards to Mike Matei given how James Rolfe has openly used passwords in the past to clear certain games on AVGN.

Place posted... To that end though, I initially wanted to say something about the 'no more entries/swaps after #110' rule being weirdly specific since it only applied to me. It is your thread though, so do as you like.

It was meant to be a general notification and not a direct response to you in particular (even if you were the only one who did this). I don't mind if this is done early on so anyone who wants the unnommed thing back in has enough time to respond, but when nominations are about to close, that's when I won't allow changes (outside the examples above where something has been nominated by 2 people and it initially slipped past me). I will probably point this out in the rules if I ever do something like this again.

Not like it mattered much since one of your two openings have got in and I suppose the other could as well if Mana/dowolf doesn't mind using their switch on it.

I probably won't actually begin the ranking topic until later this month or after the new year depending on IRL stuff since I'll be watching every opening twice before giving a rough ranking and then watching them each once more for when I'm doing the writeups for each. so when you say about versions of openings, and one-offs

are one-off versions of standard main openings allowed

You'll need to be more specific on what you mean and might want to link an example of this so I can answer this as best I can. But what I meant by one-offs was either stuff like christmas/halloween specials (Treehouse of Horror) or special intros (like the 500th Simpsons episode). Basically, if I were to tune into a random regular episode of the show, it should usually contain the standard opening if normally has.

Question while I'm thinking of nominations: One show I have in mind has an opening theme song that plays in every episode, but it basically just plays over the first 1-2 minutes of the actual show rather than having it's own animation sequence, so the visuals are different every time. Is this allowed?

Edit: Show in question is Aria the Animation, in case you're already familiar with it

I've never heard of the show, but judging from a quick youtube search, it sounds like dialogue plays over some of the episode openings anyway. I'm going to lean No on that one.

Let's get down to the rules.

• 10 nominations per user for now (may or may not increase later)
• You must list the name of the show and (preferably) the name of the song/opening and (if applicable) the version of the song.
• You must provide a video link (preferably Youtube) of the opening of the show that contains both the visuals and the sound. My rankings will be taking into account both as well as its relevance to the series itself.

So there's a report suggesting that current Wrestlemania plan for The Fiend is to book him against THE BIG DAWG.

And people wonder why there are those who are skeptical about this new Wyatt direction. Not to mention, I really hope that's not the plan for Roman. He doesn't deserve to get the backlash from this.

Imagine if The Undertaker/Mankind '98 ended in Taker geting disqualified because he dropped Mankind into the thumbtacks.

Or if the six-man HIAC in 2000 ended in a no contest when Taker threw Rikishi off the top of the cell.

Like, we've long since established that HIAC matches are no DQ with weapons being legal. Yet because they didn't have the balls to go all the way with Wyatt winning the title or being pinned at this stage, they booked themselves into a corner and the result is "we can't make a decisive decision on this match so we're bailing out by bending the rules in our favour". Fuck that, either go all in on The Fiend and have him torment the entire RAW roster until someone steps up at Mania or make Rollins look legit by decisively pinning him (yes, this hurts Wyatt's momentum, but the finish we got hurt both Rollins and Wyatt AS WELL AS make the WWE look stupid and uncool). Even having Wyatt lose due to the Demon Balor interfering would've be alright since you have an out for Wyatt who can gain back momentum by beating Balor next month (because let's be honest, they're really not making the most out of the Demon gimmick so might as well stop protecting it).

Instead, we got more of the same from Bray Wyatt. While everyone was excited for the Fiend, I was in "believe it when I see it" mode. Because anything long term that guy has been involved in since 2013 has went to shit. The inital Wyatt Family run where he got fed to Cena and looked like an idiot when Bryan turned on him two weeks after joining, everything to do with Ambrose in late 2014, not going anywhere while Strowman was with him, his WWE championship run being wasted with Orton and the House of Horrors crap, His alliance with Woken Matt lasting only a few months before losing the belts to a bottom tier tag team act (Sorry to anyone who likes Dallas/Axel, but they've been treaten as absolute losers for 5 years, so losing to someone on that level makes you look trash). Why should I think the Mr. Rogers/Jason Vorhees hybrid act is going to suddenly change everything for the guy until WWE can show they can actually make the character work for 6+ months? And already, they showing the signs that this won't be any different.

Bray Wyatt is arguably one of the most overrated acts in WWE and the sooner everyone starts to realise this, the better.
